fred67 Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 No, they're right. Three per year. Basically a January release, a May release and a September release. That's one every four months. Right... we just started our third year (more or less); the first series came out just about two years ago (June 2010), so seven is, more or less, the first set of the third year. More or less. Yes, I know it's a month off. Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 (edited) You both have your math wrong. There have been four releases per year, not two, not three - four! One every three months. 2010: 1 & 2 2011: 3, 4, & 5 2012: 6, 7, & 8 Edited May 23, 2012 by johnnyvgoode Quote
tazosaure Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 I was thinking about it while looking over my Series 7 the other day, and of how much LTG likes to re-use parts from previous CMFs... So with that said, how about a GOLFER? The bagpiper's hat would be perfect, and all he'd need in terms of a new mold would be a club or two. And heck, even they could be brick-built if need be. Besides, we've all seen how much the CMF team loves sports figs. Thoughts? I would love to see a golf bag, so maybe we can have a golfer and then his caddie in a later series :) Quote
vriverajr3 Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 How about a football player? They can reuse hockey player helmet and space marine shoulder pads, just a lil different without the neck guard and back booster pipe things. Anyway I would love to have a football player Quote
streifen Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 The one good thing about a golfer for me would be the stereotypical flat cap, also good for gangsters and working class folk. So I hope a golfer won't get the bagpiper hat/bonnet, which is too specialized IMO. The flat cap can be found in the Artist and Mime Artist from earlier series. Quote
jonwil Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 What the Mime and Artist has is a beret, not a flat cap. I think LEGO would probably use a Baseball Hat (most pro golfers you see on TV wear a baseball hat, a visor (like a baseball hat with the top cut off) or no hat at all, not a flat cap or similar. I do agree that the Tam o' Shanter may not be the best option for a golf hat though. Quote

As for the baseball cap, I'm hoping that if TLG decides to make a golfer, they would stick to a stereotypical representation, with tweed and a flat cap, rather than accurate current wear. Quote
Angeli Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Perhaps an Invisible Man with clothes (and a transparent head). I think that is a fair solution to the articulation problem, and the Invisible Man is a must-do for Lego... :)) like this?:) Quote

Agreed... the image that people still get in their heads, with the knee socks and all. Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 :)) like this?:) That's awesome! I think that Lego, with all its creators and imagination, could find a way around the articulation problem, like yours! Quote
vriverajr3 Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 How about a cyclist??? i think a minifig version would look awesome. could have lego sponsors printed on torso and legs. printed shiny sun glasses on head with a smirk and a new mold of bike helmet. one thats a little more oval than a circle. something like this Quote

And without a bike, a cyclist is fairly useless (or at least I could see complaints), this is probably why we haven't seen one released with the Team GB figs. Quote
Graysmith Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Funny that people were just mentioning a golfer, cause that's what I came here to suggest. I was looking at the bagpiper and thought, it'd be really cool with an old-timey plaid-wearing golfer, maybe with that same kind of beret as the bagpiper. Glad to see I'm not the only one thinking that! Certainly doesn't feel like it's unrealistic for there to be one either, although he might be more contemporary (and boring) a la the tennis player. Hmm, I don't think it would be that much of a problem - the surf boards were pretty big too. And on the other hand, the Team GB rider is coming without a horse, so even a cycle-less cyclist doesn't seem too far-fetched an idea. Quote

I think that is a fair solution to the articulation problem, and the Invisible Man is a must-do for Lego... LEGO should absolutely do The Invisible Man for the CMF. It really wouldn't be all that complicated to do either. I made these in LDD: All he'd really need is a pair of sunglasses printed on the head and you'd be all set (with new suit printing too, of course). If they chose to do him with white hands/head to illustrate the bandages, they could add a bit of printing for that too along with the sunglasses, though personally I think it'd be far better if they made him with a transparent head and transparent hands since then you'd really get that he's supposed to be the invisible man (rather than a burn victim or a weird mummy). He wouldn't really need any accessories either (the CMF Frankenstein Monster didn't come with any). Quote
DraikNova Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 (edited) From Thoth's portfolio, I believe one of the few space ones we haven't seen is the dragon-headed alien. That's the one I'm really hoping will be in series 8. Plus, it would work well with the Ninjago Constrictai head mold. Edited May 26, 2012 by DraikNova Quote

I made these in LDD: Yes yes, absolutely! This this! I really hope they hit this idea sometime... We NEED an invisible man, and this is a good work around. If transparent hands can't work because of the articulation, even if the arms are made of regular ABS, then they could make them white, as you suggested! I hope they are listening in case they haven't thought about this... Although, the only thing I'd change, is putting on a white torso on the fig, so the neck isn't as visible through the head. Itaria No Shintaku Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 I will have to quote myself from this other topic : 1 - Male Ice Skater 2 - Ballerina 3 - Spanish Torero 4 - Golf Player 5 - Baker with Bread 6 - Indian Snake Charmer 7 - Medusa 8 - Postman 9 - Female Reporter 10 - Javelin Thrower 11 - Miner 12 - Invisible man, with printed coat, trans-clear head and trans-clear hands 13 - Greek/Roman woman 14 - Cafeteria Waitress 15 - Boy Scout 16 - Bowling guy with Bowling ball These are my predictions, of course none of this is a rumour, but who knows! Graysmith Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Another one I'd like to see: A Canadian mountie. Seeing as LEGO has already made a British royal guard, I don't see any reason not to make a mountie too. Even better, with the new forest police they now have the perfect mountie hat already made too. You could probably make a pretty decent mountie already by replacing the royal guard's hat with the forest police hat, but I'd definitely like to see a proper one. Quote
DraikNova Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 The one thing absent in your list is a space figure. Lego would never make a CM series without any space figures. Quote
Stiel Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 You have a point in that space is definitely a subtheme, but that doesn't mean a figure in every single series. Series 2, 4 and 5 were all missing space minifigs. Quote

Graysmith Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Like this...? Due South by andhe :-), on Flickr Yes! Although he'd probably look better without that hefty chinstrap, it's a bit too much for that hat. I'd like to see one with a beard, something like this (but with better torso printing of course): Quote
SirBlake Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 I realize that there's no news here, but I just can't believe how little info we have on this. Has there ever been an instance where we have a current series on the market with no idea what's coming next? Quote
