I'm also hoping for a mythical fairy rather than a random colorful ballerina type fairy.

Short legs and wings would be a great addition to the possible parts.

If it is a fur trader, then I will buy multiples. If it is a modern businessman, I might get one if it looks decent.

I really hope the fairy is more mythical also. But I will take a fairy at any rate, depending on the wing structure. I would assume they will use something similar to the new Geonosian wings as far as material goes. It looks okay, but I'm sure there are other ways to do it.

It's funny how people say this is the worst series, when just looking at the list, I think it is one of the best! Very peculiar..

But I will wait until pictures because I may end up wanting very few in the long run.

I only first heard of CMF at the end of series 4, so I've missed out on A LOT!

Here are my 2cents on this series.

Ancient Thespis

Sounds like the toga wearing minifig a lot of people have been expecting for so long. Lego is definitely catering to AFOL with this fig IMHO. I am intrigued by the fact they specify "thespis" are we to expect a 2 faces minifig, 1 face for each mask?

Pirate Captain

I am not a big pirate fan but the first pic of the fig looks ok. Like others I am a little disappointed/worried not to see a new parrot in this preliminary pic. I'm also wondering if we should expect a golden peg-leg :)

Conquistador

A highly requested fig, thanks for listening TLC!

Enemy Robot

Color me pretty excited about this one!

Evil Female Alien

I cannot really picture what this one could look like, but I am definitely intrigued!

Diver

Let's hope for an old timey/steampunk style diver. An new present day diver would be of little interest to me.

Vampire

Since I won't be purchasing the monster fighter vampire castle and might not have the funds for the haunted house, a female vampire to go with my series 2 dracula would suit me just fine.

Fairy

Wings, wand, want!!!

Football Player

It didn't even occur to me this could be another soccer player, that would be pretty disappointing as far as I'm concern, especially since a soccer player comes with limited possibilities for new parts. A ball? Possible but so far none of the sports minifig came with a ball... Most likely a bronze or silver medal. On my side I'll keep my fingers crossed for an American football player until we get the pics.

Trader

Although a fur trader would be nice, I would expect a fur trader to be called a "fur trader" so unfortunately I'm lowering my expectation to a modern day wall street trader for this one.

Skier

This isn't specified but I'm assuming this could be a female fig since the previous skier was male. Potentially to keep things interesting this could even be a speed skier with one of those fancy aerodynamic helmets. Otherwise I'm also thinking she could have a silver or bronze medal.

Red Cheerleader

I know this has been requested here and there, and I welcome this fig, but it was really not a priority for me, I would have rather have a proper sports fan to populate the bleachers than a new cheerleader

Santa Claus

A real santa fig? count me in! I'm hoping for a new sack, proper hat and a 2x2 tile printed as a wrapped present.

Boy in Bavarian costume

This one doesn't interest me particularly but as been highly requested so once again thanks for listening TLC :)

DJ

Not sure what could make this fig recognizable from another civilian figs except some headphones and a printed LP round tile. I would be surprised if they could make a headphones piece that's not too flimsy and doesn't look too weird so I'm kind of expecting them to be printed.

Cowgirl

Here's hoping she gets a lasso!

Overall I'm pretty optimistic about this series and even though I had swore to myself I would stop collecting them all (and just buy the ones I'm interested in) after series 7 (times have been a little tough financially) I'm not sure I'll be able to resist completing this series...

I predict THIS sack: 92590.gif?1 so 1x2 printed tiles can fit.

Yeah. Probably in a diff color, but almost deffinatly a lasso. Likely brown, I would add.

Since everyone else is doing this, why not. Here are my thoughts -

Ancient Thepsis- I'm expecting a two-side headed figure, one happy, one sad, wearing a toga. Don't know, but.. sounds cool.

Boy in Bavarian Costume- Lederhosen? Doesn't seem that exciting to me. :sadnew:

Conquistador- Sounds exciting! Possible army-builder?

Cowgirl- This sounds promising! I think it'll come with WW's Lasso of Truth in a tan color. Maybe she'll have a braid and hat like Jessie.

Diver- Meh. Like others, I'm expecting the old diver, with the big bowl helmet. I can't want to see!

DJ- Am I the only one with high hopes for this guy? I'm thinking he'll have either the new baseball cap or some hair, with headphones printed on the side of his head, wearing shuddershades. That'd be cool! He could also have 1 or 2 discs..

Enemy Robot- It doesn't sound exciting. We just had a robot in Series 6. Sounds bland.

Evil Female Alien- Really? Not exciting at all to me.

Fairy- Sounds awesome. I'm expecting either like the Tooth Fairy or something, or a fantasy fairy.

Football Player- Oh please, please be an American version. If it's another soccer player, I will be dissapointed.

Pirate Captain- From the image we've got, he looks really cool! Here's hoping for a golden peg-leg..

Santa Claus- I really hope this one comes with a new hat, and not the pirate one. Here's hoping for an accurate Santa..

Skier- I actually drew a sketch for what I thought another skier would look like. A female perhaps? Hermione HP 5-7 Winter hair? :D

Trader- I'll wait until pics. Hoping for a business man.

Vampire- Monster Fighters is out right now.. this doesn't make much sense. I'm either hoping for a Vampire Bride... or this: TothEvles.png

So those are my opinions so far. :classic:

I think it will be american. . . just by the sound and also we ahven't had an american football player yet, but we have had a soccer player. I'm hoping for a parrot w/the pirate (maybe with a bit nicer coloring too. . . )

both kinds of football players sound disappointing to me. Anyone who needed an American football player would just need to remove the skies from the Hockey player.

and for the opposing team or do they both have to play in the same colour? ;-)

I don't buy into all moaning that goes on about a small selection of each series not being originals. Each figure is unique, just some are more compatible with others. Another cheerleader? Great, somebody to support the other team. Skier? Great, series 2 ski dude gets bored alone on the slopes.

I'm sure Lego has plenty of good ideas up their sleeves and in future series there will be lots of new figures we haven't seen before, but also a good handful of figures that fit well with a figure previously released. One of the best things about the CMF series is there is something for everyone as people's comments about CMFs always reflect.

I wouldn't care if future lines remade more zookeepers (with different animals), more clowns for the circus, other dwarfs to battle against other fantasy world figures, a geeky girl for my office nerd, other musicians to join the Lego band, and even another mechanic (just so they aren't all called Ralph!). It wouldn't matter if they were 'repeats', I like building scenes - not just having a one-off character that isn't much use to any other theme.

EXACTLY!!! As long as they change up the figs a little (a new hair piece for the cheerleader, new colors for the skier, etc.) I am perfectly fine with 'repeats'

And I'm sure no one would complain if they released repeats of the Zombie or Spartan. The repeats don't bother me, even if they're usually figures I don't have particular use for. Usually there are only a few figures in each series I can really make use of anyway. The rest are just fun to put on display and admire from time to time, so as long as the repeats look cool, I don't mind them at all. And the cheerleader and skier were in the first two series, so a lot of people missed out on them the first time, plus the originals were both popular figures.

Youu are absolutly right! I like having some simmilar, but different minifigs to build an army with. Plus, it's been several series since most of the repeats figs, and Lego has gotten a lot more detail in most of the latest series, so if you ask me another cheerleader and skier sound great!

Hmmm. . . and what about a ball? That would be awesome, plus I'm not so sure that a dark blue football player would really look that great

I'm not against some amount of 'repeats' myself but the minifigs still have to be sufficiently different from each other to keep thing interesting in my book (and I am pretty sure this is true for the actual designers of the minifig as well :) ).

The geeky girl is a good idea, and as far as musicians go, I think Lego made the right call so far making them each represent a different kind of music, please bring more (jazz, marching band, etc)

But your example of a new mechanic, if it is simply with a new hairdo and name tag would be a bit of a let down to me... However a "rosie the riveter" style minifig (which I believe would go really well with the mechanic) would be greatly appreciated!

Same thing for the zookeeper, why make another zookeeper (which concept allows for little variety in the fig design/printing), when new animal molds could also come along so many different minifigs like a vet, a sheperd (with a little lamb), a blind (with a guide dog), a search party member (with a rescue dog), etc

As far as clowns go, between the 2 CMF clowns, the CMF mime I consider the subject covered and do not look forward a new one anytime soon (especially since you can already mix the 2 clowns with batman's jocker and harley quinn, as well as with the kingdom' court jester if you really need a bigger clown crowd).

I dont vuy Star Ways sets but after seeing The Darth Malgus mini figure on brickset, 9500 Fury Class Interceptor it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to imagine his 'armour' (or whatever it is) made into shoulder pads for an American football player in series 8.

No I don't think so. If ever, they will make him a new mold OR reuse the one for Hockey Player.

LEGO should come out with a "ZOMBIE" Collector's Set #13 for Halloween. They can create 16 of your favorite zombie characters!

That is an awesome idea! I would love to see a theme with multiple zombie characters. You can have all sorts of fun with that idea.

I think they will make a new mold. Probably not the one for the hockey player.

Yeah, That's why I've given up the idea of building armies with most characters. . . it just looks too much like an army of clones. :hmpf:

Why don't you believe this is the correct list? I mean, not that I'm not happy about that...

I think it's a correct list. I don't see what makes it seem wrong. . . :cry_sad:

Actually, most minifig if you swap heads, can work as army builder!

That's true. But there is a limited amount of heads that really look good on a minifig, if you ask me!

I never completely believe any list until pictures appear. Too often some fan wishlist gets reported as fact and gets people's hopes up only to end in anger and disappointment. Take everything with a pinch of salt until visible proof is given.
