vexorian Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Actually, most minifig if you swap heads, can work as army builder! I mean really. I have a Hazmat team full with all the stereotypes. Brave guy, nervous kid, scientist (he is got glasses) and token female. Quote
GuntherThePenguin Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 He's agreeing with him. -Sci Haha yes, that's what I meant. Sorry for any comfusion. Quote
Kai NRG Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I never completely believe any list until pictures appear. Too often some fan wishlist gets reported as fact and gets people's hopes up only to end in anger and disappointment. Take everything with a pinch of salt until visible proof is given. Well. . . this list is certainly not getting my hopes up, but yeah, it could be false Quote
Angeli Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Why don't you believe this is the correct list? I mean, not that I'm not happy about that... just hope ;) too many city figures for my taste... and no wings! and dark face and etc etc etc :) Quote
CM4Sci Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 just hope ;) too many city figures for my taste... and no wings! and dark face and etc etc etc :) We're guessing that's the "Vampire". Could be our Toth Evil Queen.. -Sci Quote
fred67 Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 I believe GRogall from past experience. I don't think this is a stand-out list, but I'm not disappointed at the repeats because I'm assuming opposite sex versions, as we've seen before. Also, some of them are a bit ambiguously named ("trader?"), which could be a result of having seen the series without seeing the "official" naming. Quote
ACWWgal2011 Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Why don't you believe this is the correct list? I mean, not that I'm not happy about that... I don't believe that is the correct list either. I get the fact that not everyone got series 1 & 2 and remakes are a good way to get them but i doubt lego would release half the series in reruns unless it was the last series. Honestly, unless something really strikes my interest and the list is real, there's a good chance i'm going to pass on the series. Only exception to that would be if the santa is decent enough where he'd look good in our christmas vilage we do. Though that would be a LONG stretch since i have about 4 santas including the showering santa PLUS the torso, pants, potential beards, and a head to make another if needed so i have a lot of options. Huntleyfx Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 What is this "showering Santa" I keep hearing about? Quote
Combee Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 What is this "showering Santa" I keep hearing about? From the 2010 City Advent Calender: BrickLink Looks like an old naked pirate to me Hopefully we'll get an actual Santa hat with the upcoming series! Quote
Graysmith Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 (edited) That showering Santa has to be one of the most hilariously bizarre things LEGO have ever done. Edited June 25, 2012 by Graysmith Quote
Huntleyfx Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Wow...I was not even aware of that. Please excuse me while I stop the bleeding from my eyes. Quote

Angeli Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 You know, Lego could take the most ordinary jobs like baker, postman, teacher and make some AWESOME figures with crazy good accesories, or take some great ideas like dark elf, angel, greek god - and make something boring. Untill we see the pictures, we are stil in the almost the same dark... Quote

I personally love both of those figs, even though their names sound kinda lame. Quote
lifeinplastic Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 just hope ;) too many city figures for my taste... Not enough for my liking. I do find it annoying when people label everything as 'City' though. For example, in this series, I assume people will class the Bavarian guy as a City figure, just like they did with the Mexican. How many people do you see dressed as Bavarians in a city (unless of course you are in Bavaria!). I think these figures form part of a 'World Cultures' theme, which I hope will include many more cultures but also it would be nice to have several different Bavarian style figures in future sets so they can combine to form a scene, Swiss milkmaid, Heidi (goatherd), an Alpenhorn player.... Also, people often class historical figures as 'City' like the sleuth and the 1920s gangster. I assumer the diver will be wearing an old-fashioned diving suit, making him a historical figure but people will label him as 'City' There are a lot of figures that should be made which represent the world around us, be it sport, nationality, occupations, hobbies and other every day roles and it is understandable that as there is so much variety and relevance to 'City' figures in the world around us, these will take up a reasonable percentage of each Series. I would only count the footballer, skier, trader, cheerleader, Santa and DJ as 'City', which still allows for a variety of other themes in each series. Quote
Rogue Angel Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 While I'm inclined to believe the list is correct given the source, I'm really hoping it's not. Although an English version directly from LEGO may changes things a little bit, there is a whole lot of redundancy here. Only pics and time will tell. Quote

I'm also waiting for some pictures before I try to make any judgments. I'm leaning toward "probably official, with some things misinterpreted and/or lost in translation." Someone a few pages back mentioned how the Series 5 Graduate was initially misreported as a judge; I agree that that may be the case with some of these. Quote

It was me, in the first time it was really confusing, they say a judge, instead it was the graduate. I agree with you, to me also this seems to be the final list, with some problems of interpretation. Time has nearly come. I still believe that the "evil female alien" will be something else in the end. Quote

Just haveing the names really doesn't give us the best idea of what they'll look like; I loved botht hte Bucher and the Mechanic - in fact a lot of minifigs you would think are "boaring" from their names are pretty cool looking - after all there is a lot of variety in design for most of the "city" minifigs. It was me, in the first time it was really confusing, they say a judge, instead it was the graduate. I agree about the female alien - most aliens are neither male nor female and it would be hard to make one that looks like a female (maybe because there's no male to compare it with?). Personally I'm hoping the DJ and the Vampire (if not the Fairy) are misinterpreted as well. Edited June 26, 2012 by Kai NRG Quote

Something to go with the evil space cyborg guy. I agree with everyone, we can't rush to judgement. Sometimes the dullest sounding figs are fantastic (ie Grandma Visitor). Quote
Huntleyfx Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Does anyone recall when the Soccer player came out, in the early lists, was it referred to as a football player, or as a soccer player? Quote
The Blue Brick Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Does anyone recall when the Soccer player came out, in the early lists, was it referred to as a football player, or as a soccer player? A soccer player is called a futbol player in other countries beside the U.S, so football would be referring to the American style football right? Quote
