All right, review time.

I've been checking the actual ideas, and I think that most of these ideas actually come from the ideas thread in this very site. For all the posts complaining about LEGO losing imagination, it seems that this series was a request. I remember the alternate cheerleader requests.

British guy that looks like Dr. Watson: Just ok, 4x4 tile used as a newspaper. I am betting the printing will be funny in this.

Football player: Was this not like the most usual request ever? I never quite liked the idea. Specially since we have just had a series completely dedicated to sports. I would have gone with red parts for this guy.

Cheerleaders: It is cool to have a foil to the first one. Yes, her face expression is not very good, but it is still better than the odd one used in the first cheerleader. I think this one has a very good chance to have dual face prints.

Alien queen: This figure implies a transparent purple minifigure head, among other trans purple goodness. The cape is great for witches and evil lords/ladies in general. This head style was rare in Alien conquest and only to be found on the larger sets. With some brasso you can alternate between having lipstick or not in their heads and finally army build these people.

Conquistador: It should have a silver helmet. But the golden one makes him more interesting for me as I like to use minifig helmets in strange sci-fi projects... I remember requests for this.

Yodeller: Hah, this is one I have to get for my collection. Anything that is an interesting stereotype fits.

Fairy: She looks good at times, but the group shot with the minifigures standing on their bases makes her look terrible. This is another one that was requested often.

Cowgirl: legs are a different mold. I wouldn't mind getting her collection-wise but won't actively look for her.

DJ: Not my cup of tea, but many interesting new bricks.

Bat guy: They should have waited for the monster theme to fade away a little before releasing this guy.

Retro Scuba diver!: Awesome. I am fairly sure this was a top request. I got to get the minifigure 4 times, one for the collection and 3 for the helmets (as I mentioned before, these helmets are good stuff for me).

Pirate: Too much gold, I don't think he looks very cool. If they mostly reused the typical pirate captain design and included a parrot it would have been much better.

Skier: Good color scheme. The minifigure idea is overused.

Santa : Best santa ever.

Thespian: Great stuff.

And $7.11 in the U.S.? Not even Toys R Us has that kind of mark up. Thanks for the pics though! The evil robot torso and legs look awesome! And the conquistador legs are cool too. That's the first I've seen of them.

I have got 50 of these new wonders.

Does any of the ones you've got include alternative face print (and could you take photos of evil robot's and american football player's face)? Which torsos have back printing? I assume Conquistador's torso under the armour is blank?

I suspect the female (given the design) is most likely something they did for a possible second Alien Conquest wave that never got released and then they took the fig and changed it a bit so it could be sold as a CMF.

Great that we are getting 1 x 1 round tiles in trans-purple, now if only TLG would do 1 x 1 round plates in the color :(

Actually, I think the 1x1 round tile on that figure's gun is Transparent Medium Reddish Violet (Bricklink's Trans-Dark Pink). It doesn't look dark or bluish enough to be Transparent Bright Bluish Violet (Trans-Purple). Note also how closely it matches the Fairy's wand, which is decidedly not Trans-Purple.

To those who are disappointed, look on the bright side: You can save your money for other things/LEGO!

I mean, seriously, imagine if every single thing LEGO released was a must-have. You'd end up poor and homeless!

I laughed at this comment. It's a fair point! Personally, I always like a series that I can pick and choose between, even if I often end up amassing a near-complete collection through repeated shopping trips. Certainly none of the figures are so bad that I would consider them a waste of money if I picked one up by accident. It's LEGO after all, so it shouldn't be too hard to find a use for any of these, even a "retread" of a previous idea.

I think I'm gonna hold my opinions until WhiteFang reviews this. All I'm really interested in at the moment is the diver, the pirate, maybe the conquistador. It is, as everyone else has said, kind of underwhelming.

Hmm. . . I don't think the cowgirl's legs are really a different mold. And if the cheerleader has a dual face she would move up a lot more in my ranking. . . so I'm hoping she has one!

Uploading pictures directly to Eurobricks is adviced against, I think, and there's not much space for them, but you can certainly post the pics here if you upload them to elsewhere, like Flickr.

Yeah, evil knight's torso was blank too. Not the ideal option, but at least both have nicely printed armour pieces.

Actually, tile is just a little, but certainly darker than the wand.

Now after I have seen the conquistador up close on bricklink, I like him even more. His breastplate and legs are very beautiful. He will make a good elite knight or even elf.

Ancient Thespis: I don't really get the concept, or it can be an interesting minifig.

Trader: I'm not sure if LEGO wanted to make an aged style businessman, or it can be cooler.

I think the confusion with these two came from a bad translation of the list we originally saw. Wasn't it translated from Yugoslavian or similar? So it bounced through a few languages and may have been a little too literally translated.

Now that we see it, the "Ancient Thespis" should have been translated as "Thespian". Basically a classical actor. In this case a very obvious Shakespearean actor. Not what we expected, but a really neat fig. "Alas poor Yorick..."

"Trader" obviously should have been simply translated as "Businessman" or maybe "Banker". I confess, other than the bowler hat, this looks to be the least interesting minifig or the series. Which means I will invariably end up with a dozen of them. Maybe I can combine it with the older Sumo fig to make an "Oddjob" to go work for Dr. Inferno? (I also think the only possible other use for the fig is to team it with the "detective" as Holmes and Watson.)
