Im not really sure of who they have got out to the shop that i got them from.

But my theory is that Lego has packed a series 7 box with series 8 bags. So when i was there yesterday i thought that i would bye some just for fun then i tried to find some information about them today and found out that they are not out for sale yet. So i packed my car, went to the store and bought the remaining 47 bags. They were laying in a basket for series 7 bags but i got 52 of the 60 i think have gone wrong.

I have to mention that i usally dont have any interest in mini figs, im all about Technic and my BL store was started with only Technic parts from the begining but has now expanded with other parts to.

So you actually bought the packets?! Can we see a pamphlet view?

What does the Conquistador's torso look like?

I believe it's blank :hmpf_bad:

According to Bizzy's picture, it is highly unlikely for the torso to have printing on it. Then again I could be proven wrong  Printing on the todo would be nice, but I doubt there will be any.

First, I'm stunned that someone got that lucky. I managed to get 20+ Bricktober minifigs for a penny a piece, and I've gotten some ridiculous deals in my time, but getting a future series packed in the current series? That's pretty crazy.

How much do the new picks change your opinions?

I like that the fairy's face is decorated. The robot's face is awesometastic! Evil mastermind ala Doctor Doom much?

i thought the divers helmet would be similar colour to series 5 gladiator. but its not and looks cheep.

Based on the pictures I tend to agree. The mold is awesome, but the colour doesn't look very good.

Other observations:

* There's a random white flower on Fairy's face, which looks unconnected and renders the head rather hard to use. The torso still looks good. Waiting to see a picture from behind to evaluate the wings piece better. I've never liked cloth skirts, that's the biggest minus of this fig. Not that it wasn't obvious already from the promo pics, just saying.

* Are those black lines under American Footballer's eyes some kind of warpaint or what? Not familiar with the sport so it seems rather strange. Surely they are not meant to be a moustache?

* Red Cheerleader's expression looks less unique up close. Pity. I liked that hint of madness that I gleamed from the promo pics.

* Shakespeare Actor looks even better than in the promo pics. Not even Conquistador can resist his best-of-the-seriesness. Nice faces too. And while I love all the new hair pieces (well, maybe except the one used on Ice Skater, Flamenco Dancer and Fairy), I appreciate the classicness of that old and trusted mold. Nice that it hasn't been completely forgotten.

* The sack Santa is holding might just beat Bavarian's pretzel and Actor's ruff as my favourite new accessory in this series. Such a mold has been long overdue. Santa's hat is nice too, but rather limited in it's possible uses.

* Batman's torso, with normal hands, could be used to create a nice unzippered gorilla.

* Cowgirl's face is not as nice as I thought from the promo pic. At least I'm not gonna be tempted to buy the whole figure now just for the face and the lasso. Maybe I bricklink them later.

Conquistador's torso is unprinted.

That's what I suspected and wrote, since the armor has some nice printing on it. You are so lucky to get some packets befor the Series is even OUT! Gee, what happens these days. I just bought Prince Zuko and Momo in excellent condition (from the last airbender sets) from a garage sale for $2, but you got so much luckier!

The conquistador's weapon is a little weird, I don't think they use rapiers.

And for those of you non-American CMF collectors, the football player's marks aren't much, some players apply it to their faces to reduce glare and some just do it because it's popular now, and it's kind of a symbol-type thing. The diver's helmet seems to be the same material and color as the Aztec's headpiece from Series 7: a pearl-gold. I was hoping that Santa would have a snowglobe, along with a sack.

And also Bizzy, thanks for the checklist.

After seeing those pictures I'm a lot less disappointed in the fairy. I like the face print and the skirt piece is better than the "hula girl" skirt that I was expecting.

Yeah, I don't really like the freckles. . . :sceptic:

Thanks for the pics Bizzy78 !

It helps a lot seeing each figure individually how it should be instead of the CGI manipulation. I like seeing figures with their legs bent and whatnot, but I know that isn't how the figure will look. So thank you.

Yeah, seeing them in real life makes them a lot nicer. . . sometimes. Actually, the ones I had thought not so good look better, and the ones I had though awesome - well, some of them look a little worse. The Conquistador, for example. I was really hoping he'd have a printed torso :cry_sad:

Thank you for the photos, Bizzy. But I'm a little shocked you already have the minifigs - how did you get them? *huh*:oh:

And can you make some more photos, please? I'm curious about the trader's newspaper, DJ's records, double-sided heads (a few pages back someone says only Thespian has one, really?), back printings of torsos (again - is the diver only one who has it?) and legs and side printings.

Only the Thesbian, yes. In fact, it was Bizzy that said so!

Wow. . . that's crazy! Wonder if there's any chance of that happening around here. . . :sceptic: Probably not!

It is a lot more likely that the retailer got series 8 early, but they don't want (or didn't have timet) to use a different casket yet or plan to use the same casket after getting rid of the few series 7 that were left.

* Are those black lines under American Footballer's eyes some kind of warpaint or what? Not familiar with the sport so it seems rather strange. Surely they are not meant to be a moustache?

I can't believe I know this (I guess I watch too many movies). But American football players usually paint their faces with black stuff. At first it was said to reduce the sun glare (and that's why it is supposed to be close to the eyes). But nowadays some also claim to do it to intimidate the enemies. Those silly Americans.

LOL! Maybe in the 1980's some high school kids used it to intimidate others, but its not anything like that. Anti-glare is right, but with so many games played at night now its really just become style. Where it used to be grease marks to cut down the glare and keep sweat from collecting under the eyes, its now an adhesive strip, usually with writing on it. Brand names and bible verses are printed on them now which to me seems like it would be distracting.

Yes, as stated before, the original reason for football players using the black lines was to reduce the glare coming from the lights used for night games, but modern stadiums light their fields with indirect light now. So it is mostly symbolic now, and many American athletes tend to have weird superstitions.

I was right about the 'plate not tile' issue. But I'll be getting her all the same. I'll get multiples and brasso the lipstick off.

For those who want a good torso printing for thier Conquistadors, just use the Pirate Captain's torso. Also, I wouldn't use TLG's foil rapier since the Brickarms rapier is far superior, but a conquistador wouldn't carry a rapier as it isn't a good shipboard weapon. You would be better served giving him Blackbeard's falchion style sword, as it would be ideal for hacking away at rainforest vegetation. It also goes better with his armor color. I might even swap heads with the Bavarian figure.

As for the Diver, I'll just have to give it a good patina.

I am all about the part out, so every figure has something to contribute, even the Fairy and Skier. The fairy torso has some uses, and the ski poles have been used to great effect in many a MOC. Even the Business Man fig has potential, with the bowler and head going to one of my Pharoahs Quest figs and the rest to be used for a fig of Sir John Inman as Wilbeforce Clayborne Humpfries. (I love Britcoms!)

With the Pirate Captain, the face, torso and hat will find themselves on separate pirates in my collection, the hook will probably go to a sci-fi fig, and I don't use TLG cutlases except as wall mounts or statue weapons.

I'm tempted to use the lasso as an open noose for a hanging.

Yepee! There's nothing like going to the beach and upon returning finding these pictures after having waited for months! :excited:

At first, I was disappointed. With the pics of each fig on Brickipedia, though, I'm starting to like them. I'll have to analyze them better to make my mind up about these.

Oh my. :cry_happy:

I've never been much into the CMF series, so I just gave these a quick glance when I saw them on the front page. But looking at them again, I see . . . pirate minifigures!!

All three look fantastic, I'm going to have to get a bunch of those. Really, they look amazing. I've wanted neck-gear like that for my figs for soooo long.
