Legogal Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 I think it will be hard to beat Series 7, so the bar is high for Series 8. And watching little kids spend their 3.32USD in the Lego Store is quite entertaining. That CMF is really important to them!!! It is fine with me if Lego keeps cranking out CMFs forever....it is just too expensive to purchase sets or most rare minifigs in order to get the ones you want. For decades we had to buy huge, expensive sets just to get 3 or 4 figures, so buying the figures alone is a fantastic solution. I still buy the sets, but now have most of the minifigs I want in the quantities I want. It used to be so difficult to collect a few female minifigs. We all win this way! Quote

Bounty Hunter Supreme Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 (edited) My Shakespearean Actor arrived today from Bizzy78's Bricklink, and I have to say it is even better up close than in the promo pics! I'm glad that the neck thing is a single piece rather than connected to the figure, and the torso and legs are really detailed. My only concerns are that the faces (as it does have a double sided head after all) look very similar to the Musketeer's, and the basic hairpiece. I've never been a fan of it, though to be fair it does go well with the figure, even if I would have preferred something more detailed. If only Bizzy78 had the Diver in his store too, I would have definitely jumped at the chance to buy it. Also, Series 8 is out elsewhere already? Wow! I hope that they come to the UK soon enough, the wait for them is killing me, even more so now that I have the Shakespearean Actor. Edited July 21, 2012 by Bounty Hunter Supreme Quote

I might buy a DJ (Love the hairpiece!) but I don't wanna spend 7 dollars for him and have to pay for shipping from Sweden to Minnesota. I'd happily pay 3 dollars for the minifigure, and then shipping so I could save money. EDIT: I could also recieve some from a friend next month (considering it's my b-day next month.) -Sci Edited July 21, 2012 by CM4S Quote

friend not foe Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Last year, a friend sent me a minifigure, and in doing so, reignited my passion for Lego. Minifigures led me back to my favourite theme - Classic Castle - and collecting the Kingdoms sets has equalled my childhood pleasure for Lego. I enjoy looking for new additions to my kingdom and so I approach the CMS from an army building perspective. For me, the conquistador is one of my favourite's from all series, his colours may not be historically accurate but they perfectly complement my Kingdom Lion nights and so an army of them shall represent some far flung defenders of the realm. The thespian has so many possibilities, a group could represent Parliament, a single one Guy Fawkes, but perhaps I shall just replace 'Yorick' with the head and make him a headless ghost forever doomed to walk the gallery of the Kingdoms' Joust! ... I meant 'Knights' not 'nights' - perhaps I should spend more time studying for my English degree than revisiting my childhood! Quote

Greedo24 Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Wow these are already showing up!Another amazing series,I want that Manbat! (Actually vampire, but they call him Manbat in Monster Fighters.) Quote
Leela Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 I hope the fans of all kinds of scary monsters will forgive me but the man-bat is so totally cute! The arms are nice but I like his ears even more. After another visit to the store and feeling all the bags I can tell that there were lots of evil robots, DJs and cowgirls as well. So far I found only one Santa Claus. The easiest to feel: diver (helmet), evil robot (helmet), fairy (wings), cowgirl (hat+braid), alien (skirt, obviously), footballer (trophy), cheerleader (pom-poms and hairpiece). CMF addiction never ends... Quote

I thought that the conquistador would be rare, but in your other post, you stated that you found lots of conquistadors, which surprises me. Most of the time, the historic (and usually popular) CMFs are hard to find! Examples: Spartan (don't get me started on how long it took me to find my first, and how many stores I had to go to!), Roman, gladiator, etc. The elf was very rare too, and the bagpiper was hard also hard to find. The Aztec's big headpiece was very easy to identify, which made it easy for everyone to find it, which made it sort of rare too. Just finished buying my Series 7 extras Edited July 21, 2012 by Lightning Dragon Quote

That surprised me too and at home I started wondering that maybe I confused the conquistador (the armor) with the footballer. But then the you cannot confuse the trophy with anything else, right? I cannot be 100% sure but it seemed to me like conquistador's helmet and armor. We'll have to wait until somebody gets a full box to see what's rare. Also the minifigs haven't been picked through yet, I believe I was the first person at the store to buy them. Or maybe I was just lucky because contrary to most people I'm not interested in historic minifigs? I want fairies and cheerleaders and never had problems finding Spartans or Romans that I don't care much about. I know... Quote

The easiest way to determine the castle armor vs the hockey/football or space marine armor is by the cleft in the bottom of the front side of the castle armor. Quote

I just feel for the sword. Once I find a heavier pack with a suit of some kind, I either feel for that sword or the gun. Most times if I shake the bag alittle, those smaller accessories fall to the bottom corner and I can feel for them. Quote

I'd find the big armor, and then verify it with the gun. For the aztec, the helmet was pretty obvious but the spear verified them. Quote
Lightning Dragon Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 (edited) We'll have to wait until somebody gets a full box to see what's rare. For the aztec, the helmet was pretty obvious but the spear verified them. I think the helmet is easier than the gun, which is kind of small and harder to find and identify. I am putting together my own feel-guide right now, just have to figure out which piece for the Santa. Edited July 22, 2012 by Lightning Dragon Quote
