Perhaps we need a whole new topic to speculate on future, unannounced CMF releases... unless there is one already.

This thread is going off-topic. Please use the 'Future Series Rumours' thread to discuss how many more series LEGO will produce etc.

People check this thread for Series 8 news, so let's keep it to that. Thanks!

Please use the linked thread for discussion about the future of the CMF Series. If I have to move any more posts, I will lock this thread.

Thanks!

Sorry, I didn't really think it was that far off topic. It is natural for talk of series 8 to mix with discussion of future series as series 8 is a future series. If any discussion took off in the other thread that was mentioned, I'm sure series 8 would come up and then that would be in the wrong topic as well. Unmonitored forums can become a mess, but sometimes I feel like EB forums are so strictly enforced that good conversations can be stifled. I guess I will revert to lurker status.

I agree 100%. Also the constant correcting of people's grammar, punctuation, spelling and capitalization distracts more then just letting it go.

Not to be a jerk but there are some grammar errors in this post. See it is annoying to constantly correct people even when the moderators make the same mistakes. Also using AFOL, emoticons and other abbrevation's is chat style posting but those are allowed. To me capitalization is in the same category and dosesn't make it where I can't read a post. I also inderstand it's in the guidlines to use proper grammar and whatnot and I try my best to follow these guidelines. I just feel like the moderators are to quick to correct people sometines.

It would be "more than letting it go."

 My point exactly, you still knew what I was trying to say.

This way off topic so I'm done now.

Not to be a jerk, but he's a moderator and his word is law here, get it? Stop arguing with him. And yes, Fangy makes errors in his English, but he works hard on it every day. Did you learn English as a second language from Singlish? Look it up. Learning Western English after growing up speaking Singlish is counter-intuitive. Fangy is a rock star of English and striving to improve. Better than sitting around bitching that you got corrected. Do your best to post correctly and please respond with patience when our friendly moderators gently remind you to use correct posting habits. Otherwise, you have to hear from me and you don't want that.

Pics would have been posted almost immediately after being found on the Internet. So, no, there has still not been any pics. Yet.

Or at least non fake pics :sweet:

By the way, there's still Angeli who claims he knows the 16 mini...

Now that TLG has started making ghosts again for the Monster Fighters line, I expect we'll see a ghost of some kind in the CMF line. I'm guessing it would either be molded in a different color like black or maybe non-GITD white with special printing of some kind to make it unique to the line.

I'm thinking we'll probably see a Goblin or Imp of some type using the new hair/ear piece from LOTR as well.

LEGO loves putting classic monster characters in the CMF line, so I think this would be a good guess at what kinds of monsters we'll see.

Only Series 1-4 though... I think that while Monster Fighters is out, they won't put any more monsters in the CMF line. I mean they could, but I would consider it unlikely, especially for a ghost. Maybe a goblin, but if they end up continuing the Monster Fighters theme next year and have plans for a goblin figure down the road, then they probably wouldn't do it. But who knows. On the other hand, maybe they will include a new monster figure to supplement the Monster Fighter theme.

It's all fun speculation. I would agree with the notion that they would not put any monsters in the CMF while Monster Fighters is out. To me, they included the original monsters in the CMF to test the waters a bit, plus to add in some interesting characters. I, of course, could be dead wrong..

Perhaps an Invisible Man with clothes (and a transparent head). I think that is a fair solution to the articulation problem, and the Invisible Man is a must-do for Lego...

Well, they did put a Mummy in Series 3 which was released at nearly the exact same time as the Mummy-centric PQ line. And the S3 Alien that came out right during the last wave of Space Police 3 that used the same head mold as one of the SP3 aliens. In general I don't think TLG really makes their choices for CMF figs based on what else is already out/coming out.

I'm not saying your points aren't valid, though. The monsters were a lot more prevalent in the first four lines (though in my head I classify the Grey Alien from S6 as a "classic monster" though obviously it fits better with the Sci-Fi/Space figures that have been featured in CMF line as well). But the absence might mean we're due for a monster of some kind in Series 8! ;-)

I'd disagree a bit. The mummy and Alien are 2 out 112 that we've seen relesed. Apart from them there are many "obvious" choices for collectible figs that we haven't seen, (Pirate, firefighter, generic police officer, etc) We didn't see a knight until wave 7. Most of these are thing TLC loves to makes sets for so thats probs why they leave them out of Collectible minifigs, in order to have more "unique" figures.

I think there will be no monster CMs because of MF. In series 4, there were 3 monster figs (werewolf, mad scientist, frankenstein monster), while there were none in subsequent series (unless you count the minotaur, which I see as more of a mythology fig). I would say TLG rushed to put all their monsters into series 4 while designing MF, so the MF line wouldnt suffer from people trying to get their hands on the cheaper monster CMs rather than buying the more expensive MF sets.

Actualy in series 3 we get Merman. So We get a monster :)

And We get clasic alien and SPace babe even if there was Alien Invation, so that means they still can do monsters even if Monster fighters is still on shelf.

As Archer pointed out, the mummy and alien are only two figures in seven series. Generally, the CMF contains sports figures, obscure city figures that don't appear in the standard City sets, historical figures that aren't connected to any current theme, and famous movie or story characters that also aren't connected to any current theme. So I doubt we'll see S8 containing a monster figure, at least not one closely connected to the MF theme. They're not going to do a swamp creature or ghost, and actually I don't think they'll do a goblin because of similarity to the LotR orcs. They may do something like a pumpkinhead, but I still think it's unlikely. For similar reasons because of LotR, I don't see them putting any fantasy-type Castle figures in S8 either.

A trick-or-treater could be possible - dressed something monsterish without being the monster (in the style of Gorilla, Lizard & Bunny suit guy). Seeing how the bunny suit appeared in the wave released just prior to Easter it'd be no stretch to put something like that in the wave released just prior to Halloween.

I've heard there will not be another series of CMF now until next year. Has anyone else heard this rumour??

Perhaps they're going to slow down the release of each wave now so as not to flood the market.

When you go into some shops you can still find a small helping of series 5 next to season 6 and 7. I can imagine a lot of retailers are asking them to slow down.

The only release date talk i've heard was that it's sometime in september.

I doubt they'll slow down considering the popularity of the line & the cash cow it's become.

My local WHSmiths has several boxes of series 3 on display still, together with a smattering of series 5 & 6, however they're still full price!
