I was reading over some old threads, when I saw people talking about former EB Admins leaving and starting a new site called "Brick Horizon", because of some kind of conflict. I remember when Xwingyoda, Vader, and TT left, but I was lurking at the time, and did not know what was going on behind the scenes. This brings me to my question: What happened?; why did they leave? And why is conversation about Fabuland and Bionicle banned on BH?

Can anyone tell me?

And if you can't tell me publicly, could you at least PM me?

Note: I checked BH out, and I prefer EB. You don't need to worry about me defecting.:classic:

Even though I wasn't here at the time, I am now good friends with a lot of the current staff. There is something to be said about leaving dirty laundry in the hamper.

What happened doesn't concern anyone who wasn't involved. At least that's how I see it. If I had a falling out with some friends, I wouldn't want someone who wasn't involved years later asking questions about it.

If someone involved feels like responding differently they can, but I am going to lock this.

It's no big secret; they said it all when they left. In short "we" wanted a different future for EB than what they wanted and it was causing loads of internal debate, much of which was spilling over into the public forum. But ultimately "we" cheated and demoted Vader and Yoda since "we" were the ones paying the site bills and had full control. Not nice I know, but we saw it the only way to get a united staff again, and all things considered I (personally) have no regrets. What were the issues? Mostly they wanted a return to the "old ways" (which I never had explained to me, but one would assume that Brick Horizon embodies them), less Fabuland, less pirates (they changed their mind on that one), less of "us", less Bionicle... and we wanted what EB is today.

But to me it's all in the past (about four years ago) and I'm not one to dwell there. They aren't banned, and there still are a few active topics created by Yoda and Vader. They promoted their new site here and I'm a (very inactive) member there.

If you want a better/different/true answer I suggest you ask them.

Well said Siegfried. We had two different visions of the website. The Eurobricks spirit was basically a small community of 100 members all knowing each other, making crude jokes, and releasing leaked pictures every week. It was good at the time but didn't match a long term vision for the website.
