Aaron Morse Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Hi all! I was ordering some Lego from Madman's store on BL and I sent him a link to my Heavy Frigate project and he sent me a link to one of his fellow lego junkies who's a member of Byggepladen.dk- the only Danish LUG. Behold Port Royal from potc http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=203488 His name is Bo, and lives in Jutland in Denmark. He is a very active member of Byggepladen. Aaron Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 14, 2006 Governor Posted October 14, 2006 Have you ever suggested that he become an active member of Eurobricks, because I have questions for Bo regarding this MOC. Quote
Aaron Morse Posted October 14, 2006 Author Posted October 14, 2006 I'll get on the horn with my contact and see if can get him on over here. Have you ever suggested that he become an active member of Eurobricks, because I have questions for Bo regarding this MOC. Quote

Aaron Morse Posted October 14, 2006 Author Posted October 14, 2006 I'd assume he was going for a brick 'n mortar look. It is big! Do you know why it is black with light gray?? Quote
Aaron Morse Posted October 14, 2006 Author Posted October 14, 2006 Yeah, in real life a brick wall are held together with mortar, although mortar is usually white or greyish, after a while it turms darks grey or black. Brick 'n mortar look?? Quote
Bo5132 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Hello, Bo from Denmark here. I am the person who is building Port Royal from the film Pirates of the Carribean. The MOC is only 20% finished and I will, over the next few months add more to my creations. It is supposed to look like Stone walls. I am building the model on green plates, 48 X 48 so I can move it around.I trying to build the whole bay area off Port Royal.Any suggestions are welcome. Quote

He should be delighted to know his MOC is getting further exposure and discussion! X-D Not so sure the "brick n mortar" look is working for me though... Quote
c.bennedsen Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 It is great Bo! But it looks MUCH better in real :-) I'm looking forward to see it when it is finished! Quote
Aaron Morse Posted October 14, 2006 Author Posted October 14, 2006 Hi Bo and welcome! Hope you didn't mind me showing off your creation. The scale is impressive and I love the "hanging" pirates right out of the scene from the first movie. How big is this going to get anyways? Hello, Bo from Denmark here. Governor Mister Phes Posted October 21, 2006 Governor Posted October 21, 2006 LOOOOOK!!! There's been an update - unless I missed this image the first time I checked the Brickshelf Folder. It appears Bo has crecreated the scene where Jack escapes via the hoist, except I don't see any mini-figure representation for Elizabeth. Where is Bo? We must ask him about this! Quote
Scouty Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 If i recall she should be further back, I think. This update looks really cool! I'm not sure if you already have, but you should put Jack's ship, ahem, I mean what's left of it, in. So far i think Port Royal is looking great! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 21, 2006 Governor Posted October 21, 2006 Where do those wood textured tiles come from (if that's what they are)? And do we think they work? Quote
El Bucanero Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Looks cool! Where do those wood textured tiles come from (if that's what they are)? And do we think they work? I believe they are from the Harry Potter set shrieking shack, unfortunatly they didn't come in dark brown :-( That would look better.... Quote
Norro Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 I would like to know where you got all those lt grey 1x2 log pieces, Bo... I've noticed a lot of Danes seem to have an abudance of this relatively rare piece, is a pick a brick spill responsible X-D ? God Bless, Nathan Quote
Scouty Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 It's interesting in how the superstructure is made, well to me it is. :-) Quote
