DFOL Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 That's just it: it snaps open, and it requires a bit of force. The 2006 model used lower gears, and it took two or three times the rotations to open, so the wings smoothly opened. It looked more like in the movies, and felt more relaxed in the hand. That's my preference Ah, for a moment there i thought there was something wrong with your opening mechanism. After having turned the wings of my UCS Imperial Shuttle up and down a few times IKEA style, i'm very glad the s-foils of the X-Wing open with only one turn of the wheel. Quote
Lego Otaku Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I think I found an error. I finally got around to putting this one together after it sat untouched for around 18 months. I don't know if LEGO fixed this in later print but in instruction manua page 8, step 8 it instruct to place 2 green 1x2 technic bricks. The picture shows the part with the grey axle rod already inserted. In step 9, it instructs to insert the grey axle rod into the green brick. Oops, grey axle was pictured a step too soon. Quote
JVM Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Bought this a few weeks asgo and it's my first minfig-scale X-Wing - absolutely love it. Quote
kermit Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Nice review. I am still holding out on getting this one since I already own the previous one. If it goes on sale I will definitely grab one. Quote
