July 5, 201212 yr I am wondering if Lego purposely didn't implement the XL motors into this because they knew that kids would be doing crazy things and breaking parts left and right that in turn would need to be replaced by Lego, where as this new large motor would limit how much punishment the plastic parts can actually take... I know those guys who build those Trial Trucks break parts pretty often and breaking parts isn't part of TLC's gameplan... LOL.. I was just outside with the dog thinking about this and came back in to give my opinions on it as well before I refreshed the page and seen this... Is it? I arrived after a long time riding trials and crawlers in a setting montage that never broke a gear if you want!
July 5, 201212 yr Is it? I arrived after a long time riding trials and crawlers in a setting montage that never broke a gear if you want! You must be the exception, because I too have seen many pictures and video footage of broken parts in Trial Trucks.
July 5, 201212 yr A little video of mine, with Unimog wheels, PP wheels, time lapse build and vanishing torque: I wonder if you got bad motors? My copy is MUCH faster and climbs all the obstacles in your video with no problem.
July 5, 201212 yr Really! A toy for children. But it should be named differently, crawler? Trial maybe. The manual stated that it is not advisable to play outside. Sariel the tests at home he barely rises 2 cm obstacle ahead! The value that costs should at least overcome obstacles simple. Yes, a toy. Crawler is only name. It is a toy simulation of crawler. If we will follow your logic: we have to rename 8043 excavator to something other like tracked vehicle with motorized arm..??!:) Name is only for marketing. They can name super truck trial crawler, but it does not mean anything about its purpose
July 5, 201212 yr Has conchae made part 2 of his video review yet? He made lots of videos. But he has other obligations besides LEGO, so he will publish them when and if he can.

July 5, 201212 yr I guess I won't be finding out anytime soon :( U should check out the motors ur crawler looks very down on power besides others iv seen. He made lots of videos. But he has other obligations besides LEGO, so he will publish them when and if he can. Well excuse me for asking :(
July 5, 201212 yr does someone heard when the instructions for the C-Modell goes online? 101_9416 von efferman auf Flickr

If the crawler is a simulator and does nothing to make a crawler, deviria be launched without engines and most all sets technic
July 5, 201212 yr @ efferman: I looked at your Flickr photoset, and like your 9398-C model. When a truck like this rolls down the hill, the roll cage will keep the driver well protected! Were there a lot of extra parts left over?
July 5, 201212 yr Looks very good By the way...the Lego technic sets are avaiable on the German site of the Lego Shop http://shop.lego.com/de-DE/TECHNIC-NachThemenwelt
July 5, 201212 yr Can anyone try RC crawler tyres? Not sure how you'd attach them though. Seems like softer tyres would help a lot for grip.nthat plus locking the diffs might make it a lot better at climbing.
July 6, 201212 yr Hello, I just joined the EB community I've read this whole topic and have some questions/comments. First, Sariel - something's definitely wrong with your crawler And second, I think replacing the second gear combo(two 16t's) with a 12t and 20t, replacing the diff with a half 12t and 20t, may help with the overall offroad performance, and building a lighter chassis like efferman's(BTW nice 'c model' )

July 6, 201212 yr Well I guess this was bound to happen, first the 8043's actuactors, the mog's pump, and now the crawler's motors(if this is a defect)
July 6, 201212 yr Well I guess this was bound to happen, first the 8043's actuactors, the mog's pump, and now the crawler's motors(if this is a defect) Now something else. since you probably know everything necessary for 9398 set, here is one link that could be nice addition to all posts here enjoy http://technic.lego.com/en-US/BuildingInstructions/9393%20Group.aspx#9398 Group Igor
July 6, 201212 yr Well I guess this was bound to happen, first the 8043's actuactors, the mog's pump, and now the crawler's motors(if this is a defect) I thought it was the small cylinder, not the pump that was the problem.
July 6, 201212 yr I thought it was the small cylinder, not the pump that was the problem. You mean the small pump, easily mistaken for a cylinder.
July 6, 201212 yr My 2nd video of the 9398 4x4 Crawler. This time performing outdoors. Other videos will follow "soon". Edit: BTW, here also the first one.
