It would work as a differencial momentarily up until the pins touch, then it will be completely locked, so yes it'll work just as long as you only intend to turn a small amount before turning back the other way. You could try this:

about "Testing Crawler 9398 on TruckTrial circuit. Out of the box it works pretty nice. If differs were swapped with knobs, it would work even better." I see a LUGPol Truck Trial sign at the beginning of the video.

I was reading about the differential locks on here, what about these?:

Torsen Style Limited Slip Differential

-or-

using bands and thin wheels

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JI8UNQBpXvI#!

I like the idea of using bands, its small and doesnt take much space as long as you have enough space between to set this up. I like the torsen, but it takes up too much space. Time for someone to think of something! :laugh: Anyone want to try?

Edit- :hmpf: So after about 7 tries, I finally get it to work

@ Xan326: Here are the steps to insert that video:

1) Copy the URL of the YouTube video you want to insert here on Eurobricks. For this example here (so that you can see all of the characters), I have stripped off the http:// characters so that you can see the entire string (without it being shortened): www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=JI8UNQBpXvI#!

2) Paste the URL into the "Insert Media" button (located at the right end of the menu group, at the top-center of your "Reply" box).

3) Remove all of the characters that do not follow this format (again, without the http:// in this example so that you can see all of the character string): www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxxxxxxxxxxxx . In this case, the character string will be www.youtube.com/watch?v=JI8UNQBpXvI#! .

The final resulting string will look like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JI8UNQBpXvI#! :classic:

I want to tell you about the simplest way to make LSD.

It is not a construction, but simple imitation using non-lego material, little cheat:)

You don't need any additional space or details. Just take thin rubber ring with size equal to gear 12 tooth bevel and with a hole in the middle. Place this ring under the central 12tooth gear at differential. It will make additional friction when one wheel "on the air". More the size of the wheel - more friction you need.

Use it;)

How well does it work or will it leave strain on motors?
