Captain Green Hair Posted February 6, 2012 Author Posted February 6, 2012 Thank you for all the kind words guys, I'm glad you dig it! The brick-built sign is very nice, especially the light blue shading on the letters (shame about the R, which is the one letter that doesn't really work...). Maybe, instead of taping the back, you could add some 1x4x3 panels to the back? That way, you'll cover up the mirrored letters without making the sign two bricks deep. The interior is great, too, and very authentic with all those signs. I'd make one little modification to the oilcans: I'd remove the 1x1 plate and the 1x1 tile and replace them with one of these - they work perfectly for oil can tops. I agree on the R, but after a lot of fiddling, I decided to stick with it. I'm also not too happy about the A, R and A not touching the bottom line of the other letters. I'm really open to suggestions for improvement here! Good idea using panels on the back, I'll take it into consideration. Thanks! It's also very nice to see the fantastic verhicles of mijasper and Misterzumbi (IMHO two of the best vehicle builders you can find at this scale) in such a stylish surrounding - they add still more coolness than it already has. Hi, they are my vehicles, they are not 100% copies of theirs. But I'm glad you like them! I'd love to see that garage door in action. Well, there isn't much action.... It slides up, just like the regular Lego garage doors do, kind of. Wow, wow, wow! Everything about this is great. That sign is awesome, love the "shading" on the letters. The garage itself, inside and out, looks like something out of the 50's. That hot rod ! If ever there was a MOC in need of the CMF Mechanic, this is it! Thanks, I haven't got the mechanic yet, but I'll surely add it when I do and make a new picture. Quote
SeanM Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Excellent MOC, The detail is superb! Great job. I can only hope to create something that eye catching. Quote
Artifex Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Wow, looks amazing! Can you please pimp my ride? Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 That is a great garage, outside and inside! I really like the many details on the inside. The billboard on the front has some fantastic lettering. My only comment would be that the garage floor is too clean. I am missing oil leaks and such. Quote
Orange Leader Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 It's a superb model that is very believable as a garage. I like that you used the older Shell bricks instead of Octan. Quote
RPGer Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012  This is but one of your awesome creations CGH! Quote
Andy D Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Excellent garage. I really like all the little details that make it more believable. The gas pumps out front, and all the little things that you would expect to see in a garage/gas station. Andy D Quote
solta Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Excellent work. A lot of details and fantastic ideas. Best photo for me is when the car in the garage. Keep a good work. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Wow beautiful work! I like the inner details: the shell's cans are beautiful. The colors scheme is perfect and the sign on the roof awesome! Quote
Cunctator Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I like very much the pumps, the sign with that variation in color and that detailed interior Very good start for your Greenville Quote
Brickmamba Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Cool garage, the muscle car and bike look just as good, well done! Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 Thanks guys! That is a great garage, outside and inside! I really like the many details on the inside. The billboard on the front has some fantastic lettering. My only comment would be that the garage floor is too clean. I am missing oil leaks and such. Did you not notice the black plates in the floor, nit just handy for posing stuff? It's a superb model that is very believable as a garage. I like that you used the older Shell bricks instead of Octan. Cheers, I love printed bricks. It has become a collecting habit and there are some of my favourites in here. Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Did you not notice the black plates in the floor, nit just handy for posing stuff? Ah, I overlooked those. There is so much to see. Quote
Skalldyr Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 I love it! Especially the garage door is tricky and the old gas pumps are looking like the little old ones LEGO once produced! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Awesome work mate, Ride hard indeed! Love all the action shots and the interior is brilliant. I do kind of feel the roough looks a little boring when compared to the rest, but its not like anyone is using the roof to sunbake or such. Quote
wwjj Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 (edited) Hi, a very nice garage.I'm not interested in CITY but, the history is great.   Edited March 5, 2012 by wwjj Quote

Hrw-Amen Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Yes, this is a really nice garage, it actually looks like a real garage as well. I love the chopper as well. Quote
BrickBrackBlock Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 I absolutely love the way you did the sign. Great MOC! Quote
gotoAndLego Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 (edited) I like the few random studs on the tiled floors. Good for posing. I did something similar on my Apple Store. Edited March 5, 2012 by gotoAndLego Quote
TheLegoDr Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 I really like the signage. The garage door is actually something I was thinking about tinkering with, but I see you've perfected it, so now I don't have to worry about it as much. I really like the old style brick work the building is made of. It looks exactly like a garage I would expect to see around here. Keep up the great work! Quote
-zenn Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 (edited) This is just a really great looking build, but other than that Joe and his wife Anna remind me of Paul and Rachael from Orange County Choppers/paul Jr. Designs. Edited March 6, 2012 by -zenn Quote
Doddsino Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Very nice job. I'm envious. I have to ask though...can we jam at Joe's Garage? Quote
