Some of you wanted me to keep them updated of the LEGO-economy/business. here are some informations about LEGO and its new ERP :

LEGO Builds Business Success in Eleven Weeks

At LEGO, the company wanted to improve processes, increase supply chain integration, and start collaboration as quickly as possible. In order to do so, LEGO and SAP used new implementation and project-management practices, including identification of key performance indicators (KPIs); rapid business assessment, process mapping, and blueprinting; prototyping and knowledge transfer; functionality transfer to the SAP system; user acceptance; and phased process activation. From start to finish, LEGO was able to realize value in only eleven weeks and then took an additional five weeks time adjusting its implemented solution for high-season business and sustained rapid value.

"We had some very clear business objectives and needed quick ROI. However, we wanted to minimize risk and make sure that the project was manageable both in scope and budget," said Lars Radoor Sorensen, vice president, Global Logistics, for LEGO. "SAP understood our needs and was able to provide us with proven solutions for global available-to-promise and sales allocation. These solutions were implemented in only eleven weeks. More importantly, we expect to improve a number of KPIs, including delivery performance, production flexibility, and asset utilization."
