Posted February 9, 201213 yr Hello everyone. Iv been a member for a while but haven't got around to posting. I bought my first LEGO set in around 13 years last Saturday. I believe this is called ending my "Dark Age" ha. Iv got exams coming up and would usually relax playing rugby however iv been injured this season and Ive been looking for something to help me switch off. Passing the LEGO store and saw the new mini modular set and the next thing i knew id bought it. Its a fantastic set and im really stunned by the detail. So much has changed since i left but at the same time it all seem very familiar. Iv been browsing Brickset and some of the sets iv missed out on are stunning. Ill be making sure i stoke up on the Fire Brigade and Super Star Destroyer before they are gone too. Iv also missed out on the collectable minifigures. I found series 5 reduced to clear in John Lewis and cleared them out ha. Iv now got a full set and loads of spares ill be looking to trade in the other forum. Anyway just wanted to say hi before i spend a few more hours ogling the MOCs on here. Cheers, John
February 10, 201213 yr Welcome to Eurobricks, it's always nice to have another lurker leaving the shadows So much has changed since i left but at the same time it all seem very familiar. Exactly how I felt at the end of my own dark ages. Super Star Destroyer? I see you're going for the big ones already, keep it up (as long as your wallet lasts, that is). And don't forget to put together a MOC yourself once in a while
February 12, 201213 yr Welcome back to the world of LEGO John; now that it has you in its pretty pronged grasp, it is not liable to let you go I can completely relate with you regarding the changes in LEGO since pre-Dark Age (I think the first thing I noticed when I returned was that the faces has white PUPILS in the eyes. Yes... even the most common smiley ones....). That and soon finding out what you've missed out on during the Dark Age. I wept when I saw what was in the then-just-recently-ended Fantasy Castle line. Wept. Okay so not really.... I was still immensely disappointed though. Not sure if you already found out about it yet, but on the off chance you haven't, you might be able to still nab stuff you missed but want on BrickLink. Sometimes it proves to be just a little cheaper than raiding the store.... but only sometimes
