Norro Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Hey all, check out this Lugnet post from JoJo... nice pirates... God Bless, Nathan Quote
El Bucanero Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 What a nice building! The lamp on the brown row boat looks very strange, I can hardly see where it is made from, it looks like there some screw drivers in it.... His figs are nice too, although this guy doesn't remind me of Jack Sparrow at all... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 18, 2006 Governor Posted October 18, 2006 Isn't there already a "JoJo Does" thread? Anyway, this JoJo is not only a fine mini-figure customiser, he's also a fine MOCer. Although I don't think anyone would want to walk out on the balcony when they're drunk... This JoJo impresses me, does anybody know him? I think we should invite him to our forum to answer a few questions... Quote
El Bucanero Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Isn't there already a "JoJo Does" thread? You mean this thread? It is not like this, although it is pretty similiar, we were thinking that he only did pirates in the past, but now it seems he still does pirates! *pirate* Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 18, 2006 Governor Posted October 18, 2006 Yeah, that's the one I meant. If JoJo STILL does Pirate then he should really be at this forum. Why isn't JoJo at this forum! Get JoJo at this forum!!! Quote
El Bucanero Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Norro, you said he visits Classic castle forum sometimes, members of that forum should deliver him our invitation! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 18, 2006 Governor Posted October 18, 2006 Yes, excellent idea Mr Tiber! But anyway, lets focus on this splendid MOC... From this view it does look truly marvellous however I'd like to see it from different angles. More pictures! are required I suppose this is much of the reason I want JoJo here so I can ask for more X-D Which sets are those cobbled walls from? Was it Ninja or Knights Kingdom or both? Quote
Norro Posted October 18, 2006 Author Posted October 18, 2006 Isn't there already a "JoJo Does" thread? Yes, that was a 'did' thread, as in I was not aware he had in the distant past... this is reflecting his new post, 'does'... X-D This JoJo impresses me, does anybody know him? I think we should invite him to our forum to answer a few questions... I mentioned this post in reply to his Lugnet post... beyond that his email is on his lugnet post.... God bless, Nathan Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 18, 2006 Governor Posted October 18, 2006 Yes I noticed that, so I was wondering who if anyone here actually knew him so they could sent him the invite. I thought it would be better coming from someone he knew rather than me, just so he doesn't feel like he's being spammed. Quote
Governor Broadside Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Which sets are those cobbled walls from? Was it Ninja or Knights Kingdom or both? The wall comes from only two ninja sets http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=30156px1&in=S Such a great building. 8- Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 18, 2006 Governor Posted October 18, 2006 Excellent work Governor Broadside! I managed to get a few of the wall pieces but at the time I had no idea what I was going to do with them. JoJo has given me some inpsiration with his stone wall. Quote
Scouty Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Actually, a couple of the stone walls appear in the KK2 Vladeks Castle. Edit: The Lanterns Mr.TIber was talking about is composed of this : and this and the standard yellow cone. All are upside down :-) . Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 18, 2006 Governor Posted October 18, 2006 This JoJo does seem to be quite talented. And LOOK! He's even got a "coloured" pirate or dock hand or whatever occupation he's supposed to have. Quote
Jojo Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Hello! And LOOK! He's even got a "coloured" pirate or dock hand or whatever occupation he's supposed to have. He's a pirate as good as any. And so is she: BTW, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but all these background scenes are strictly built for the camera. So the rear of the warehouse looks like this: And right now i have no intention to build a whole harbour, as much as I would enjoy it. I simply don't have the room. Bye Jojo Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 19, 2006 Governor Posted October 19, 2006 He's a pirate as good as any. And so is she: Ahhhhhh! The mighty Jojo has joined us! And who is "she" JoJo? Do your characters have names or do you just build them to look good? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 19, 2006 Governor Posted October 19, 2006 Which sets do those gold pieces come from? Quote
El Bucanero Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 The lamps.... BRILLIANT!!! SHOW ME HOW YOU MADE THEM!!!!!!! Quote
oo7 Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Which sets do those gold pieces come from? I have all of them except the "doorknob" peice behind the guns which is only in belleville sets and a belleville-esque HP set (I never understood what was up with those sets). As for the lantern, it's made of- *two 1x2 gold tiles from 2 city police sets or a city cargo train *One gold 2x2 "radar dish" from some belleville, Discovery Nasa, KK2, the Star Wars Technic C3PO, and the HP Durmstrang ship. *Two 1x1 gold round plates from HP Quiddich Practice or The Durmstrang Ship and not gold- *trans- clear 2x2 tile *two of something like this to hold it all together And the Gun rack- *Two 1x1 gold round plates from HP Quiddich Practice or The Durmstrang Ship *The aforesaid gold doorknob peice Quote
El Bucanero Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 I wonder if there is a ship under the quarterdeck you showed us.... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 20, 2006 Governor Posted October 20, 2006 Mr Oo7 you are a knowledgable chappy! See, it pays to have those who branch out into other themes amongst us to fill us in on pieces from non Pirate sets. Now, unless I'm mistaken chrome gold was introduced by the pirate theme in 1989... Quote
Norro Posted October 21, 2006 Author Posted October 21, 2006 Those are great lamps! I would not have thought to use all gold.... God Bless, Nathan Quote
Jojo Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Hello! As for the lamps: There are two golden radar dishes built in, one on top, one below. The gold ornaments are, of course, meant to be brass, as there was much brass on ships because it's corrosion-resistant. And no, there is not a whole ship under this quarterdeck. As I said before: It's all just backdrops. :-) Bye Jojo Quote
