Anyone ever use any Technic oriented parts for fixing broken things around the home or auto..? A few years ago I completely broke off the flimsy hinge in my Camaro's center console and rebuilt a really strong hinge with Technic parts... I am curious to see if anyone else has ever used Lego to fix their problems...

Crowkillers(i mean you paul  ) made a sturdy speaker stand for a speaker to go over the top of the tv:

As for me personally, i have built a few ipod stands to hold my ipod up while watching videos.

LOL.. I actually forgot about doing that... I still have that center channel speaker too.... It's just in a different place now underneath a more "Modernized" television...

Keeping in the A/V world theme...

I most certainly have a pillar of bricks holding up the center of my way to heavy media shelf. Without it, the glass just bows way too much. The funny part was, when I was brainstorming on what to use to prop it up I was thinking..."I need something modular but vertically strong so I can get a really good fit...hmm...."

I'm not proud of the 30 mins I wasted before even considering the plastic parts I have a whole room dedicated to.

I once tore the tendon in my finger. The doctor gave me a splint and I had to keep my finger from bending for a few weeks. The splint bent pretty soon, maybe after a week, so I strapped a Technic beam down the back of my finger. It was strong and light and it did the trick..

Well, when our youngest was few months old, he enjoyed constant rocking in his crib. So I've build two simple tractors to hold the crib's wheels and to rock the thing up and down:

It was RCX-guided so it could be driven around:-) Nevertheless, it worked and my wife was very pleased (from that time on I don't get any of those questions - is new box of lego really necessary??!!). I have also used technic bricks for mobiles (something to keep baby occupied when parents dozed off).

Now I use it for playing with kids and a phone stand at work.

I just love this topic!

I remember i made myself a fan out of a non-lego propeller, an old 9v motor ( the one with no gear reduction) and some technic beams. Id worked great, but the motor overheated. Now it makes a strange buzzing sound. If i find the photo i'll share it.
