tl8 Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 (edited) I was a little bored before work on Monday, so I decided to try and make a Lego Soyuz 2 in LDD. The result is not as good as I had hoped so I doubt I will actually build it. Under the Fairing is the Fregat stage that can manoeuvre payloads in orbit. The Soyuz-2 is a unmanned launcher first launched in 2004. The Soyuz-2 ST is the one used in Kourou by the ESA. Soyuz-2 Soyuz.lxf Edited February 18, 2012 by Rufus Indexed Quote
AussieJimbo Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 (edited) Nice effort, tl8 but I can see why you're not 100% happy with it. I reckon it's a pretty nice looking rocket but a key design feature of the Soyuz is the tapering, conical engine fairings as shown in your reference picture. The top section looks good. If you can work out a way to build the fairings, the design will fall into place. It'll be tricky to find a solution though. :classic: Edited February 14, 2012 by AussieJimbo Quote
Tobbe Arnesson Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Perhaps 30407 Hinge Plate 1 x 8 with Angled Side Extensions can be used for the taper? Quote
