Yes! Finally March 1 is here. I am now the proud  but broke :hmpf_bad: owner of five copies. I guess I won't see the inside of a Lego Store any time soon. :oh:

Dropping 1k on that set is a bit crazy  What are your plans?

I think that is just how the mold is. The Fire Brigade windows look like that too. I could really tell when I was looking at only the window panel, but once installed it was difficult to distinguish. Probably because of the background and the way the light reflects.

I think im going to get atleast Two of this Modular Building. I plan on making a courtroom on the ground floor and changing the floors around to extend the entire lenth of the floor to create more office space. I also want to recreate the elevator and make it larger and modify it.

Well... I told myself I was going to wait. But my wife called me on the way home, and said "2x VIP points." That was enough to knock down any willpower I had left.

same thing here, wife said to go for it while it was 2x VIP points. That and we got our tax return last week.

for those without money and still want 2xVIP points, i think in October will be 2xVIP points again,

it has been in October 2010, March 2011, October 2011 and now March 2012 if i remember correctly.

Well, I save $50 if I buy it in the states in the summer instead of now. What does the extra 250 points turn out be worth in $?

1 point is for each $1 spent on an item. You need 100 points for $5 redemption, and the redemptions can only be in $5 increments.

Therefore, the extra 250 points would give your VIP redemption a value of $12.50.

20 points is $1 so in theory the 250 additional points is $12.50...but it seems, from my experience, for every 100 points they will add $5 to your redemption balance...no incrementals. So If you bought it outside the 2x points and you haven't been carrying a balance you'll only see a redemption balance of $10. If you up that purchase to $300 you'll see a redemption balance of $15.

My purchase, with double points, got me 500 points, or $25.

Buying LEGO Stateside will always work out in your favour.

Are you sure it wasn't just a glare or something coming from the display case? I've never even heard of this problem. All the modular reviews haven't mentioned it.

Hmm...my Pet Shop was fine. Can you post a picture, assuming you still have them.

Here's the promised picture. Sorry for the bad quality, but I think it shows the issue.

I put it in a link, because it is slightly off topic..

What I did is putting them symmetrical and in line, so it looks like as a handle or something. The 2x3 windows have the same spots, but those are in the corner.

OK, let's talk about the TH again :classic:

Oh wow, that's not good.

Ok, the TH has been out a day now, where's a review?!

Absolutely amazing! The elevator is a cool yet dangerous feature.

Being sort of a one off very large modular I suspect the next one will go back to around the $150 USD price range. The color scheme is simply gorgeous on the outside. The comparison shots of other modular buildings shows how truly massive it is.

Also it has several "shield" parts that appear to be brand new prints? Very useful for Castle builders. :oh:

Once the price goes up, it won't go down again. That is what I think.

Well, it depends on the piece count too. If the piece count drops back to where it was, I don't see them charging $200 when it was $150, previously.

Pierre, thanks for the dimensions. I'm making my order on my monday, but I'll have to wait till the 30th to get it. It's still better than spending another 100 EUR to drive to Munich for this set alone.

58 x 48 x 12.5 centimeters.

Five?! *huh* What are you going to do with so many?

Well, I'm hoping to see a TH review soon, and some MOD/MOC of five!

No, I don't think this is the case - Astrid made it clear in the video that the Town Hall is intended to be unique in its size. I think it's very likely that subsequent modulars will be back down to the level of others in terms of both size and price.

Well, I've always bought more than one set, starting with CC, and in the meantime, I'm really glad I did. Usually I build two of each, and the rest goes in the vault, until when they are not available on S@H any more.

I bought this today. After seeing how big the box is and how heavy it is, it certainly is worth $200. However, I hope this won't be the norm in pricing. $150 is easier to swallow than $200...

I got two on Saturday and built a bigger version over the weekend – but I want to make some more interior changes, so no pictures yet.

Interestingly, while the previous sets had a price of $150 for you and €150 here in Germany, this one costs "only" €180. Glad they didn't do a 1:1 translation this time...

I got those in my Grand Emporium, bought recently in the UK. Thought the quality was really bad to have marks like that, but I assumed it was 'normal' (my first modular)

Are you going to make some changes to the elevator? I'd be curious to see who else is thinking about making the elevator cabin fully enclosed ...

No. Well, I thought about it, but then I decided to keep this nice little oddity the way it is (including ladder and trapdoor to the roof) and instead of making it bigger and enclosed, use the additional width for a staircase (more important regulations, it seems, than an enclosed elevator  ) and a bigger auditorium.

Finally got around to seeing multiple pictures of this thing (still haven't gotten around to seeing the press release though)...looks beautiful. I know the Pet Shop came out before this and I should get that before Town Hall but this looks almost too good for me to wait until I have the Pet Shop first.

Will need to make some time to go to a local Lego store to see this in person.
