The hardware store owner is upset that the old air force officer prefers buying his tools at Coles than his own store next door.

More to come....keep watching !

Very nice LT. Love the stickers and interior.

It's a clever use of small space. You know i've been around there myself lately

I'm no Aussie. So my first thought about the BIG Coles-sign was, "Thats a lot of space for a Sticker". But when I saw the 1953 picture again, your spot on!

Thanks 'MadManMingo' and 'Brickmamba' for your kind and positive words, there will be a little more work done to everything along the way, but next should be a barbershop....it should fit that blank space perfectly.

Keep watching and commenting everyone ! :classic:

Nice one mate, maybe there is room for a Hungry Jack's somewhere in there

Twenty years out 'Brickmamba' !

Hunting down barbershop images now.....real tough to find 1950's Aussie barbershop images.

Nice interior. I love the DBG cashier (or is it something else).

Thanks 'solta', and yes, it's an old cash register.....now you might be thinking that is a weird place to put it....this picture will explain.147898_medium.jpg

A Barbershop sounds interesting, but is there any chance of a Pie Shop further down the road?

Thanks for the comment 'eurotrash'....a Pie Shop....that will be the milk bar, a milk bar is basically a corner shop selling drinks, ice cream and of course pies.....usually they sold basic food stuffs like bread, milk (hence the name), cheese, ham and other smallgoods. :classic:

Barbershop is today.....must get designing.

As always your mocs are brilliant, the level of detail in the small builds is great and I do like the stickers. What other buildings do you plan on doing? Something like TLGs Town Plan?

Thanks 'CptMugwash', well lets see....hardware store DONE, five and dime style store DONE, barbershop, milk bar, bank, post office with phone box, garage, butchershop, bootmaker/shoe repairer....hopefully and of course a tram.....maybe some early 50's Aussie vehicles....I'm going to be very busy with this one now.

Great work as always! Can't wait to see what you have in store for what's next!

Thanks 'Drexlore', the barbershop is coming along nicely, only the roof, interior and stickering to be done.....plus I must make some custom figures too....busy, busy, busy !

The garage is next actually, till then a close up of the barbershop.

Yep, that's a mirror in there.....craft shops come in handy sometimes.

Three buildings together, front view.

Now to work on the garage (bank/milk bar after that, so too will be the tram).

Comments welcome.

That's great. Straight out of the Sullivans (anyone? I think I'm really aging myself here). Either way loads of Australian country towns don't look that much different 60 years on!

Thanks for the reply 'Ash', true very true and I think the series ended around the 1950's mark.....ah, Uncle Harry was cool and you have to feel for Dave when his wife was killed when visiting London during the blitz.

Parts now brought to start the AMPOL garage.

Keep watching !

Edit - AMPOL bowser built, designing stickering for it now.

More parts required tomorrow....money running low....dam, almost no work this week. :cry_sad:

That is some noir (I guess) artwork. *huh*

Great Job like always LT!

For suggestions: I have no idea since it´s fourteen hour flight from here but maybe a Laundromat could do it.:grin:

Waiting for more :excited:

Thanks 'icy brick' for your kind words, I guess the following image will show you the style of garage I'm trying for....

Just imagine AMPOL instead of Mobil on the front and not so wide.....maybe I'll widen it in the end eh ?

More over the next few days.....keep watching ! :classic:

It's looking good!

Love the barber's shop chair in particular and Coles which has a real Woolies feel to it.

Great job

Cheers
