matias bendtsen Posted March 12, 2012 Author Posted March 12, 2012 It uses two XL motors (when finished) and the gear ratio is 1:2.334. the red equipment truck earlier in this thread is demolished now, and the tracked caterpiller loader will soon follow. Quote

Hedgie Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 That looks really good! I love the curve of the wheel casing. I'm very curious to how the rest of the cabin will look. And what will you do with the space behind the cab? Will there be a crane? Quote

matias bendtsen Posted March 15, 2012 Author Posted March 15, 2012 (edited) Hedgie is partly right, because i made it modular, so its easy to remove the excavator and add a crane instead, so when i am finish with the excavator and have the time and parts i will make some kind of crane for it. timslegos Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I love the progress! The wheels and the fenders really look great together. tim Quote
Hedgie Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Your answer is on the first page. Sorry I missed that. I was too blinded by the Scania's :embarrassed: Man that excavator is going to be HUGE! Quote
matias bendtsen Posted March 15, 2012 Author Posted March 15, 2012 Man that excavator is going to be HUGE! no proplem, rear axels take 5 kg each and front axle 3,5 kg Quote
matias bendtsen Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 "Klodsfest" in denmark is now over, and me and my bus got home safely. Here is some pics and a video will follow later this week: Quote
matias bendtsen Posted March 29, 2012 Author Posted March 29, 2012 More progress on the truck: now i know why i hate to build cars and truck cabs. A video of the excavator: no more progress the next two weeks, because i have to install a better sorting system on my building table. i also made a short video of the bus: Quote

jorgeopesi Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Nice, those unimog wheels open a new good scale. Quote
timslegos Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 the truck is absolutely beautiful! and the crane is great looking so far too. You are definitly a talented builder . tim Quote
matias bendtsen Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 Thanks for comments, and sorry for the wait, i have been busy with other things than building and when i had the time i did'nt have the famous idea... but now i have some progress with the crane part: i have extended the boom from my other crane, and made my own LA as the originals are not long and strong enough for the heavy boom. i have also added a motor for the turntable because therre is no room left in the undercarriage. the weight contains a battery box, and som fishing sinkers to add weight. this extra weight has two train weights in it and some more fishing sinkers. Alasdair Ryan Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Look's good, but i think you could make a better boom rather than copying the 8421 crane's boom. Quote
matias bendtsen Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 Look's good, but i think you could make a better boom rather than copying the 8421 crane's boom. i know, if i get a good idea it will be changed, but i dont want a boom wider than 7 studs, and i do not have many yellow liftarms left in my collection.
