March 1, 201212 yr gotoAndLego Looks great! One little detail I just picked up; the iMacs and iBooks should be white. I would buy your set and will certainly vote for it. They haven't been white in some time!
March 1, 201212 yr Author gotoAndLego Looks great! One little detail I just picked up; the iMacs and iBooks should be white. I would buy your set and will certainly vote for it. There is a white MacBook/iBook being repaired at the Genius Bar. On the tables are the current grey iMacs and MacBook Pros/Airs. Edited March 1, 201212 yr by gotoAndLego
March 7, 201212 yr Congratulations! http://www.pcworld.com/article/251399/lego_apple_store_lets_your_minifigures_line_up_for_new_igadgets.html
March 7, 201212 yr Author I knew it was on TUAW, but hadn't seen that. http://www.tuaw.com/2012/03/03/lego-apple-store-could-become-reality-with-your-support/
March 7, 201212 yr Having seen this on Cuusoo, I have to ask: What prompted you to use what appear to be stickers for the art on the building's interior, but not on the Apple logo for the storefront? It seems a bit counterintuitive, since white Apple logo stickers come free in most Apple products. Not to mention that the iPod "dancing silhouettes" art seems a little out of place in a world populated by minifigs. Nonetheless, congratulations on a fine-looking MOC, and congratulations for the success it's had so far on Cuusoo!

Not to mention that the iPod "dancing silhouettes" art seems a little out of place in a world populated by minifigs. I prefer brick-built to stickers but there was no way to get the interior images done without stickers, but if more people in the comments want a sticker on the front I'm down with that. However, the final set will have dancing minifigs instead of the stock apple images.
March 7, 201212 yr This is a very nice creation and you have gained a lot of support on CUUSOO, including myself. It does remind me of another Apple store creation. Featured on PC World too, that is great! That is sure to draw a lot of attention. I will be buying one of these if it passes all stages on CUUSOO.
March 7, 201212 yr In the US most regular Apple Stores facades are plain like that. My nearest one in London isn't quite so plain... But the interior layout is exactly the same as yours!
March 8, 201212 yr Author This is a very nice creation and you have gained a lot of support on CUUSOO, including myself. It does remind me of another Apple store creation. I already spoke with that builder and gave me permission, even though its not necessary, to use dancing minifig images inside. Featured on PC World too, that is great! That is sure to draw a lot of attention. I will be buying one of these if it passes all stages on CUUSOO. The support has been quite rapid, just need to keep the momentum going. I need to find someone going to one of the big Mac conventions to pass out flyers. Edited March 8, 201212 yr by gotoAndLego
March 8, 201212 yr Awesome design, I made my own version based on my local store over on the LDD forum. Here is the link if you want to put a picture of it on your CUUSOO because there were a couple concepts on the minecraft page too. Anyway I like your MOC and envy that you could actually make yours.
March 15, 201212 yr Official LEGO Comment was posted today: Congratulations on all of the supporters! It's clear you have captured yet another passionate interest group with your LEGO model of an Apple store. Some might say that every modular LEGO street needs one to keep their citizens supplied with sleek, shiny gadgets. You've done a great job capturing the essence of the clean design and bright artwork that Apple stores are known for. Of course if this reaches 10,000, we'd have to take this up with Apple and secure a license. Until then, best of luck on your journey to 10,000 supporters! Please understand that this initial green light does not have an effect on the LEGO Review that will take place if the project reaches 10,000 supporters. Until then, we wish you the best of luck on your journey to 10,000 supporters!
March 21, 201212 yr Author I made the first major revision to the Apple Store giving it a second floor and adressing the issue of it looking good from all sides. I also added Woz and his Segway.
March 21, 201212 yr This upgraded version is awesome, you really captured the glass facade of the various stores and made the whole creation a lot more substantial. I really love the staircase, I have never been to a two level Apple store though so that is neat to see. Very nice work on this updated model.
March 21, 201212 yr I'm already supporting this, but this upgrade makes it even more desirable - very well done. Just one thing - I agree that the staircase is really lovely, but isn't it terribly flimsy? It looks like every step is made up of transparent 1x2 bricks held up by a single 1x1 headlight brick - and I can't imagine anything that fragile ever ending up in a Lego set.
March 22, 201212 yr Author Lego has access to better trans clear bricks than I. I'm sure they'll have a better solution.
March 22, 201212 yr I like this rewised version! I wasn't too fond of the logo in the first one. It was too croocked and didn't look much like the real deal. That's why I think it's a huge plus for the model, that you chose stickers at the front and back logo. The mosaic on the side looks a lot better that the first logo. It seemed like the first one was too tiny to look right. This new bigger one, has the size to get the right curves in the apple. Nice modification
March 22, 201212 yr Now that's an Apple store I see you're still in search for MacBook design. Why don't you simply turn these 2 connected gray 2x1 plates upside down and leave them with no extra parts? You will get flat screen and studs will work like rubber feet and as a bonus you will be able to "close the lid".. (or you can just turn over only screen part of notebook. And for the glass walls it's still better to use 6x5x1 transparent walls, in case you have enough of these. Edited March 22, 201212 yr by BatonMedved
March 25, 201212 yr Nice! FYI, Apple stores don't have wood floors. They used concrete that came from Italy for flooring. I like to see much thinner gadgets because some of your works kinda too thick for Apple products. However, keep up great job! :)
March 25, 201212 yr Author And for the glass walls it's still better to use 6x5x1 transparent walls, in case you have enough of these. I discussed this in the comments section, but there is an issue with the larger panels. I would need to reduce he width by four studs to use those panels, otherwise I'd still need two, 2x2x1 panels to fill th extra space. Now that's not such a big deal because I could have a tiled path connecting the tiled front and back. You could have all your extra mini figs lined up around the building, waiting for the iPhone 5. It would make it easier to look inside, but I didn't have enough of them to try it. I might hit BL for the ones I need and try it out. How do you think a modular street would look with an alley breaking up the buildings? Also, do you folks like the grey facade over the front, or would it look better without, having the same glass cube feel as the rear? Nice! FYI, Apple stores don't have wood floors. They used concrete that came from Italy for flooring. The tan doesn't mean wood; some Apple Stores do have tan floors. If the set is made, I'm sure Lego will adjust the colors at Apple's request. March 25, 201212 yr I think the upgrade looks much better, not that the original didn't, but this is superb. I reckon every LEGO City needs one. Edit: But what happend to the air-con on the roof? Edited March 25, 201212 yr by Hrw-Amen
