Ah, poor old Dad. I told him months ago he had to take care of that shelf and tidy things up a bit in order to be able to find when he needs them...

Father, have you tried using the services of our new friend, Frickeroo?

Nah I don't want to clutter up my flickr stream with mafia photo's. I haven't got a pro account. I used the old mocpages

Photobucket's a good choice. MOCpages has really awful quality.

*character off*

MOCPages? Brickshelf? Seriously? Those are both as unreliable as they get... :sadnew: Anything would have been a much better choice, not to mention that you can still hide the pics in your flickr stream, and if properly sized, they shouldn't take up that much space?

Alright, so you want a little Japanese to pepper your Yakuza experience. Here are some words and phrases that could be useful:

くそ! kuso! -damn!/crap!

へえええええ? heeeeeey? -huh?

おれ ore- me (for tough guys)

わたし watashi (for average people)

あたし atashi (for feminine women)

~さま ~sama (respected person title)

~さん ~san (average person title)

~くん ~kun (young man's title)

~ちゃん ~chan (cute girl's title)

<please, call me Norio-sama  )

お父さん otosan -father

神様 kami-sama -God (that is, Mr. God)

そろそろ soro-soro -It's about time to start/go

やっと! yatto -At last!

Thanks, def! I'll definitely be using a few of those! :sweet:

I don't know if this is the correct form (and I don't know what the Hiragana character for it is), but isn't 'brother' 'onii-san' and 'sister' 'nii-san'?

On my part, I am even trying out a new catch phrase...

Scum or not paying attention...

No, that has no rhythm.

Scum or naive...

No, that has no zazz.

Scum or confused...

:roflmao:

Very funny, def-chan! :snicker:

Oniisan is good for brother, but sister is Oneesan. But both are just for older siblings. Younger siblings just go by their name, though there's a different word for brother and sister for both meaning younger.

Family words in Japanese confuse me still a fair bit since there's a word for members in your family (ie. mom), for people outside your family (my mom), and for others families (your mom), as well as just family relations in general (mothers). I just gave up.

Confession, I don't know the name of any of my in-laws except my younger sister in law, because my wife uses her name. And I simply avoid referring to them by name when I see them  it's been a few years now, I wonder if my wife has noticed

Wait, is this in-character or not now?

Sorry for my absence so far, everyone. I've had a busy day today and haven't had chance to catch up on five pages worth of reading. Hopefully I'll be up to speed by tomorrow morning.

Guys, I might be there at the start, but not for the night( GMT) so don't point the finger of suspicion at me.

Sorry for beign so late, everyone. There was an unexpected heavy snowfall, and so my satellite went out.

If people are going to use the C & D thread as an alibi/excuse for not participating, can we lock this thread? They need to be explaining themselves, however they choose to, in thread.

Votes so far:

Yasu - TheBoyWonder(11): Capt.Redblade, Brickdoctor, Yasuko, Shizuko, Zakura, Jimbutcher, Nightshroud99, VolcanicPanic, Bob, Def, Whitefang

Surely you must mean RileyC and Pie, not Yasuko and Shizuko?...

What's the point in that? Butting in there to say something like that would not be taken well. It's out-of-character information that everyone should be able to see, so here seems like the perfect place.

Because it keeps it part of the game. Coming in here to say why you can't participate when more than a few people have noted people not participating isn't an explanation we should consider. Whatever you have to say should be said there. If you're up for lynch, I don't think anybody should be saying, "he said he'd be away for the day yesterday in the C & D thread."

I'm not saying you three are scum, but it's a good technique for scum to make 'real life' an alibi for their playing, or avoidance of it.

Whether it's locked or not, reasons given here should be frowned on, in my opinion :sceptic:

Just a note about the vote tally's Badboy, it might be wiser to include people if they make a few letters mistake in the names. It can be hard with a lot of new people to memorise them and it:

a) Confuses us all when we look at the votes, and

b) makes looking back on the day for vote patterns harder and incorrect.

Badboytje, you certainly draw people to your games that like to play the game outside the day threads. :hmpf_bad:

And Noriko-chan better not think she's still Mustafa Nidia, because that was pretty insufferable.

Wasn't she Hugh Janus? :look:

Not picking on you, just a mafia history point of order.

EDIT: Sorry. Looks like I was the one who was mistaken.

EDIT 2: Wait, no I wasn't *huh*

I'm really sorry to have to do this everyone, but I'm going to have to drop out. I've been busier than expected with work lately and I've really been stuggling to find time to catch up with and stay up to date with the thread. With hindsight, I should not have signed up in the first place and I'm sure somebody else could make better use of my role.

Thanks for understanding.
