Legonardo Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 The Gatehouse to the city of Gruven, Avalonia De Gothia of Beonic leaving the city after a brief visit (two of the same thing photoshopped together) Unfortunatly it didn't come out as I would have liked it to (as usual, due to parts) but I think I did OK. just look at the last image and imagine two menacing towers on either side Sorry about the image quality Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Looks great! That angle in the wall is well executed! Quote
MikeyB Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 I believe it is great! the tutor style outcropping looks really good as do the vines on the side of the wall. The door might be a bit small for horses or wagons to pass through but overall great job. Quote
de Gothia Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Great to have finally visit my neighbour! Thanks for the meat and mead! Very nice! This gatehouse is great! The tudor really adds a alot to the whole building! I like the angle in the wall, making it harder to storm for enemy soldiers! is it possible to have pics of the other side? Quote
Rogue Angel Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I really like this! You've done a great job with the paneling and I really like the ivy along the walls. Not a lot of gatehouses so far (Z's is the only one I can remember) and you've made an excellent one. I may have to add this to my loooong list of MOCs to make. Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 This is a fantastic gatehouse! The tutor housing and the sloped wall are spectacular. I really like the detailed foliage too. Great work! Quote
SirSven7 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 this is a really nice way to make a wall both interesing and good looking, brillaint build Quote
Balthasar Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 excelent job on the angle of that wall, very nice. Quote
ZCerberus Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Good job with the sloped walls!. It does remind me a lot of a mini-version of the great gatehouse of Albion. Really cool and very much our style! Quote
Legonardo Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 Thank you for all your kind comments! MickyB the city of Gruven has a trade route going through it, with a gate house on either side. the opposite side (supposedly) has a larger gate and the stables ext* are living there. (it was the biggest arch I had and I didn't have the parts to build it higher) De Gothia sorry about that I sort of destroy my creations strait after I photograph them. Quote
Sirens-of-Titan Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Indeed the sloped walls are a great detail! Despite your part limit you've made a great and formidable looking fortification. I also like the way you've used the red plumes as flowers. This has the definitive Avalonian feel; well done! Quote
Captain BeerBeard Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Nice build! The wall look's very solid. What is the name of the flower that's growing on your wall? Quote
