Ok. I am answering the original accusation.

I made a comment. Not in the day thread. A stupid comment at that. The lat bit was partly a joke, but partly serious. I didn't want the town down early.

The lat bit was partly a joke,

Riiiiiight...

You know, if you'd just said that initially, I might have believed you, but the fact that you kept avoiding the question and only now bring it up just makes me think that you're saying it because Norio said it was a plausible reason.

YOu need to start putting your heart into your defense, Yasu. A crappy defense hours after the original doesn't help much, and it certainly doesn't void the rest of your terrible defense earlier. I too doubt you're scum, but your attitude and absent-mindedness certainly isn't helping. :sceptic:

Wait, what? Have I missed something? When was there a mention of specific factions in the vision? :look: I thought the vision showed there was only one Yakuza left. Also, in most similar situations I've read about, we're not supposed to try to find clues in pictures infer too much from what is retold to us.

I'd guess he refered to the dream with the genies, just like everyone else who tried to find some deeper logic within this whole prophecy business, but I have no idea what he means either.

I believe its Norio-sama... :look:

When he brought it up, I actually thought it was a plausible reason, which is why I didn't go into it. But you're 100% right, after all what was said before this is simply ridiculous. And she still hasn't really addressed the point your Grandfather prohibited us to talk about.

I think you misunderstood what he said. I thought he said there was no mention of a third faction in the vision...

Now, I'm all for lynching Yasu. She's unhelpful and making weird statements that make her look afraid to be caught, and hence, scummy. However, there is a chance she's just young and naive, and doesn't fully understand our situation here. We shouldn't be blinded by our accusations of her, and stop looking at the others. The real scum could easily hide behind a quickly forming bandwagon against Yasu. But the way it stands now, we don't really have any other suspects, and Yasu isn't doing anything to make herself less suspicious...

Almost exactly my thoughts, there is no better option for lynching at this point, so either come up with a better defense, or you are practically giving us no choice but to lynch you, my dear Yasu. There is no better option for lynching, and your defense is not helping...

:hmpf: Again, you fail to actually present a good defense.

What are you actually expecting as a defence? What could she say that would convince you she's not scum? What is worrying is that she keeps trying to save her own skin and is doing absolutely nothing to help here. But then, I'm also afraid we're all jumping on the most obvious target.

Hello everybody! I don't really like this situation. What if we lynch the wrong person?? :cry_sad:

Yasu's statement was a bit strange, but it could be nothing. We'll have to think a bit more, although I doubt we will get any concrete evidence now.

Your statement stood out as being odd for someone who knows how these games work.

I agree.

Thats not really much of an excuse is it? At least you could defend your poor defence better :sceptic:

I don't really think Yasu is scum, although one day 1 we must follow the weakest of leads.

And again... You don't really think someone is scum, yet you're willing to lynch that person? Or isn't that what you're suggesting?

While this was exactly what I believed earlier, and which I'm now not that sure about anymore, we still should keep in mind that one of us who misunderstands our situation and our way that drastically is likely to create more confusion and is harmful rather than useful for the Yakuza's cause.

If we lynch her and she turns out as Yakuza, I'd rather mourn about the lost chance to catch real scum than about her death.

But of course you are right that we shall not tunnel-vision on her. As the day proceeds, I'm sure some people will stay silent, and we should also keep and eye on those people.

To be honest, I'm not sure anymore. She's made so many statements that avoid the accusation that I'm not sure anything could convince me she shouldn't be lynched.

Hmm, well Senpai did tell us to find and kill the mutineers (who I called traitors) so that's one faction. I then agreed with what Norio had stated, where there might be a third faction. Which makes sense given how many of us there are; and I read about a similar occurrence in a manga called "Gotham City."

But you're right, the hallucinations Senpai witnessed should probably not be over-analyzed.

That's my issue as well. The lukewarm 'defense' seems to have only increased suspicion. It's the Day One cycle, Kin, and there's not much we can do. but lynch the guiltiest person we've seen so far. It's not even much different from the other days, other than that we have only dialog to go off of.

Kin, I - and I guess that is the case with the rest of my Family - am expecting something other than useless one-word excuses. In this game of wits that our Family gathering has become, one's willingness to speak up for themselves can go a long way towards showing where their loyalty lies. Failure to do so points towards either scummy behaviour, or inability to cope with the situation, and in both cases shows that the person in question is hardly going to be a strong leading or at least contributing factor for the victory of the true Yakuza among us against the Mutineers.

Yasu's defense would look a lot better if it was a bit more involved. That said, I'm hesitant to say that I think she's certainly scum for having terse unhelpful responses. By this point, one almost wonders why her fellow mutineers haven't given her a stronger response. It doesn't appear that we have anyone else who's expressed themselves so curiously in a way that's not related to Yasu's situation.

To me, the Emi-Yasu situation comes down to two things:

1. They've both true Yakuza but Yasu isn't able to convey that well.

2. Yasu is scum

At this point, I think this whole coversation will be useful to look back on in the future. There have already been a few people speaking up in defense of Yasu and some who've been pretty quick to accuse.

Personally, Yasu has avoided the accusations so many times that if she were to come out right now with a strong defense, I'd immediately think that someone else had told her what to say, and I'd think she would be even more likely to be Scum.

I must agree with you. No matter what the outcome of the day is today, we should review the defenses and accusations that have been flying around today.

Sounds like there's nothing she can do to defend herself against you anymore

Once you've slipped up it's hard to get back up again, especially on Day One when there's no other real suspects. I haven't come up with much in catching up with the day, but I'm going to give it time. I don't want to waste my one unvote. (Unless God changes his mind.)

While it is far fetched and I don't believe it, there is also the possibility of Emi being one of these traitors, but its true, it probably is one of the two options you laid out for us. I am going to vote for Yasu, since it is probable that she is lying, and I feel her death will probably learn us the most.

Blow it, I will reveal what ichirou told me not to do unless I was an immediate lynch target.

I am the Town Role cop.

Ok, wow, this is something to consider... I am going to think about this for a bit...

Wait... Ichirou told you this? This opens a whole completely different kettle of worms. Ichirou, can you confirm this?

Hm, this changes this whole situation. This could be a last defense of a dying scum, but if you're honest, we'd lose a valuable role by killing you. I'll have to give this a lot of thought, but I didn't really believe in your guilt before, and now that you claimed this, I'd rather not risk losing the role cop. I hope you get investigated tonight, so that we can be sure we can trust you.

I told Ichirou my role earlier, as well as Norio. Ichirou told me not to roleclaim, but I did. I knew the bandwagon could not be overturned as "nothing I do could change what they think.

Sorry Ichirou for not listening to you, but I had to do it.

Not really, other than hoping another suspect comes up or roleclaiming...

This does change things, though it's no secret that roleclaiming is sometimes an easy and unverifiable way to escape a lynch for a Day. Let's wait and see what Norio and Ichirou say...

Wait, let me get this straight: You just went and told two other people about your role? On Day One?

Calculated risk. I told two each who I contacted, and If I died, one would be able to FoS the other.
