Brickdoctor Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Calculated risk. I told two each who I contacted, and If I died, one would be able to FoS the other. And what if they were both Scum? An investigative role is not something to be gambled for the chance of catching at best one Scum. Not on Day One.
Professor Flitwick Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 *sniff* A roleclaim? You'd be able to be vouched for in the coming night, so this leads me to believe you are telling the truth; anyone who lied about their roleclaim would be lynched the next day. Calculated risk. I told two each who I contacted, and If I died, one would be able to FoS the other. *sniff* And if they're both Mutineers?
Peanuts Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Calculated risk. I told two each who I contacted, and If I died, one would be able to FoS the other. You know that if you hadn't claimed and if we had let you live, a vigilante might have killed you as well, right? But I get the idea behind it, I did the same in the second game I played time I was in a comparable situation. It was a big mistake, by the way. And I see you keep doing mistakes. Well, at least you told us before a bandwagon might have started. That way no unvote was wasted. I do play risky. Risky is not the only term I could think of...
TheBoyWonder Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Exactly, I Would not like your unvote wasted.
Cecilie Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Hm, this is interesting indeed. Role cop you say. Well well, what to think about this now. It would be nice to hear from Ichirou and Norio that you actually told them this earlier today.
MetroiD Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Yasu, that is stupid, and not calculated risk. All of it. You revealing your role, AND you contacting other people with it so carelessly. I'm sorry, and while I agree with my son Norio that for the time being we should refrain from such qualifications, I see no other way to describe the situation you have put us all in. Not to mention that, as Isamu rightly noted, for all we know, even if you are not lying, you are now Target No. 1 for the Scum. Congratulations, the mess you had yourself in has just got stickier. To make matters worse for you, our talk in private only reiterated my conviction regarding your guilt. You definitely have something to hide, and I'm not sure that your role is that thing. However, there is one matter that is more pressing at that moment, and I believe that is what Ichirou has to say about this whole situation.
CMP Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 You've just thrown a wrench into all of our mindsets at the moment. You've saved yourself, but heavily limited your uses. I want to wait for Ichirou's and Norio's thoughts.
Tamamono Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 :wall: Great job, Yasu-chan. Great job. Voting hasn't even started yet and already you've cracked under the pressure and claimed. Wait... Ichirou told you this? This opens a whole completely different kettle of worms. Ichirou, can you confirm this? Yes. I contacted her earlier saying that I thought she was scum, but I was willing to listen to reason, and she immediately claimed to me. I'm not sure if I believe it, but Role Cop is a terrible false claim for a scum, so I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. Or maybe she's a scum Role Cop... Sorry Ichirou for not listening to you, but I had to do it. No you didn't. Voting hasn't even started yet! Plenty can change before the Day is over. And now you're going to get blocked/killed/hijacked by the scum. If there's a watcher out there, please keep an eye on Yasu-chan tonight. Well, obviously, we're not going to lynch a claimed Role Cop, so now we once again face the dilemma of who to lynch. I'll go back through our discussions and come up with a list of likely scum (I'm looking at you, Shiro-kun). Hopefully Norio-sama will do the same. And what if they were both Scum? An investigative role is not something to be gambled for the chance of catching at best one Scum. Not on Day One. I have to agree with Emi here. Why the hell did you claim to me!? I wasn't asking for a claim, I was asking why you said what we're not allowed to talk about!
Peanuts Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Not to mention that, as Isamu rightly noted, for all we know, even if you are not lying, you are now Target No. 1 for the Scum. I would like to thank you for the honor, father-in-law, and I certainly don't want to say Yasu wasn't No.1 target for teh scum, which she certainly is, if she isn't scum, but I'm afraid, I never said such a thing. I just wanted you to know.
TheBoyWonder Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 When there are proactive townies like there are, why would they go for the obvious target? Mind games have returned.
Brickdoctor Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Yes. Sounds like someone is very eager to make herself seem important. Almost too eager. Were she Town, I think she wouldn't be in such a rush to tell you her role. Role Cop is a bad claim for Scum, but we've already established that she's inexperienced... I'm not sure. On one hand, I don't want to risk the Role Cop, but, on the other hand, she is far and away our best suspect right now. There are a couple others that I'm keeping an eye on, but none with as much against them as Yasu. When there are proactive townies like there are, why would they go for the obvious target? Mind games have returned. The only mind game here is "What the MegaBloks does your statement mean?". Or are you saying that you know someone is a proactive Townie?
Peanuts Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Yes. Oh, great. So she didn't even claim to you because she trusted you, but because you didn't trust her? I'm speechless. When there are proactive townies like there are, why would they go for the obvious target? Mind games have returned. I have no idea what you are talking about. Are you trying to confuse us all?
TheBoyWonder Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 But role cop is one of the most verifiable. I target some one you are in contact with, say a doctor, and I verify there roles and tell you. If the actions match I am telling the truth. I can be tracked. I would be stuffed if I was a scum and tracked. And, Ichirou asked why he should not vote me, so I told him. A bad move if he was scum, but a good move if he was townie..
MetroiD Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Mind games have returned. No, failure has returned. Your attitude is appaling - you are sitting here, accused by half the Family, and yet you find the audacity to play it smug! As you know rather well, I did contact you too, offering you support. You never confided anything in me, and if caring and sharing has suddenly become your mantra, I failed to see that in our brief exchange. Your answer was short, non-chalant, pointless - and yet, once again, utterly and helplessly cowardly, as has been your behaviour all day. It is for that reason that I am still convinced you are not a loyal Yakuza and have now decided to try and pull off this whole charade. And what a charade it is - how you've come up with this 'wonderful' idea all of a sudden is beyond me - or has someone come up with it for you? Also, why you'd start waving your town cop role around for all to see is another thing I can't understand. Brilliant - as I said before, you have now effectively turned this whole thing into a mess. If you are indeed the town cop and survive this night, the mutineers will probably do their best to make sure all your actions are ineffective, thus rendering your entire role worthless. All based on your so-called "mind games", which I believe qualify as something else entirely. It is obvious to me that you do not have the Yakuza's best interests at heart. You are a disgrace to this family.
Nightshroud99 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 When there are proactive townies like there are, why would they go for the obvious target? Mind games have returned. Yes you've certainly woven a mindfreak into me with your blabbering.
Peanuts Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Sounds like someone is very eager to make herself seem important. Almost too eager. Were she Town, I think she wouldn't be in such a rush to tell you her role. Role Cop is a bad claim for Scum, but we've already established that she's inexperienced... Do you really think after all that's happened she'd even do a fake claim without asking her teammates? I have no idea, really. It's a sad thing to say, but I consider it possible, even though not likely. I agree claiming hurriedly is highly scummy, but the role is not. Unless, of course, she really is a role cop. Honestly, I'm all for investigating her tonight, just to solve this mess.
Brickdoctor Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 But role cop is one of the most verifiable. I target some one you are in contact with, say a doctor, and I verify there roles and tell you. If the actions match I am telling the truth. And what if you are Scum and you target another Scum? What if your target is lying to the third person who is checking to see if the actions match? What if that third person is Scum?
TheBoyWonder Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I will show you what our friend who called me unhelpful when questioned said. Dear Yasu-chan, Your lack of persuasive actions really leads me to believe that you are scum and the Yakuza family is better off wihout you and your kind. You have let way too much time pass just listening to others' seemingly rightful accusations and without buliding a strong case for yourself, which goes to show that there probably is no defence for your actions anyway since you are indeed scum trying, unsuccesfully, to hide yout true colours. The only way you could still be of service to the Yakuza family and go without disgracing yourself would be if you shared who the rest of the known scum members are. In fact, there could still be a way to save you and bring you back to the true side of the Yakuza family, but in order for that to happen, you need to help us rid ourselves of this scum vermin by telling us who they are. Father Nobuo If I am not scum, how the hell would I know who they are?
Nightshroud99 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I will show you what our friend who called me unhelpful when questioned said. If I am not scum, how the hell would I know who they are? I will admit that the message is rather convoluted and doesn't exactly give you an out if you are town.
MetroiD Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 If I am not scum, how the hell would I know who they are? If you were not scum, would you have replied the following: I am not scum, so I do not know who they are. If I was Scum, I would not tell you. Appaling is the only word I find befitting of your behaviour. If he did indeed have a habit of using it, Father should really whip out his belt.
Tamamono Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Sounds like someone is very eager to make herself seem important. It's because she's so inexperienced that she claimed. It reminds me a lot of a certain Mad Hatter from a Batman comic. She asked me several times in private if she should claim, and I told her every time 'no'. I go out for my lunch break, and she completely defies my advice. I find it interesting that you're still trying to imply that Yasu-chan is scum. While I don't trust her completely either, there is no way I'm letting her get lynched today. We'll let the investigator clear her/condemn her tonight, and her fate will be decided tomorrow. I also find it interesting how 'proactive' you're trying to make yourself look this game. I don't remember you being anything more than a sheep for several lives now... Changing your approach since you drew scum again? And, Ichirou asked why he should not vote me, so I told him. A bad move if he was scum, but a good move if he was townie.. I wasn't saying 'make yourself useful and claim to me', I was saying 'give me a logical argument as to why we are wrong about you'. A good rule of thumb in these situations is to not claim early. And what if you are Scum and you target another Scum? What if your target is lying to the third person who is checking to see if the actions match? What if that third person is Scum? 'What if'? We'll choose her target for her, and hopefully the watcher and the tracker will have to common sense to go for her tonight. But your weak attempts to get the town Role Cop lynched are duly noted.
Etzel Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I don't understand much here. What is going on?! How will you even survive the night if we don't vote you off, Yasu? Are you counting on a Doctor to protect you? If I had abilities to protect someone I would be very careful about who to target, and you surely haven't made a good impression so far. Damn, I thought we had a lead and could just go to voting. Now I really don't know anymore.
TheBoyWonder Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 If you were not scum, would you have replied the following: Appaling is the only word I find befitting of your behaviour. If he did indeed have a habit of using it, Father should really whip out his belt. What else could I say? I am a townie and here are the scum or I am a Townie and I have no clue who they are.
Scubacarrot Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 And what if you are Scum and you target another Scum? What if your target is lying to the third person who is checking to see if the actions match? What if that third person is Scum? Yeah, and what if YOU were a traitor, and this is just an elaborate plan to frame an innocent... Don't get me wrong, I am not accusing you of anything, and that sentence probably deserved a sarcasm tag, but I think you might be having tunnelvision, my dear Emi. The Role Cop role can be very useful for the town indeed, so in my opinion, we should not lynch her. Of course we definitely need to have some investigation or tracking on her tonight. There was another person I noticed had some suspicious behaviour, perhaps it is an idea to check our other options.
