Skrytsson Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 (edited) Last year I created Stockholm Metro in Lego. Please take a look here and here. One year later it's now time for a come back on this theme. This time I have built the station 'Medborgarplatsen', which lies in the city centre of Stockholm (capital of Sweden ) You are able to see reference pictures at the end of my post. Hope you like it! Now, follow me down the escalator to the underground! Selander Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Amazing MOC - so many nice details to study.
AussieJimbo Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Great work, Skrytsson. You've captured the feel of the real station very well. Top job. :classic:
lightningtiger Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Mind blowing AWESOME 'Skrytsson', the train is cool, but it's the station and all the realistic detailing....the tiger every bit of it....the posters are just too much. Great to see some else who likes creating their own signs. Brick On 'Skrytsson' !
L@go Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 (edited) Great job. I've been to Stockholm, but didn't ride the Metro - but from the pictures it's very clear that you've done a great job with recreating the original. I like the posters, they're very recognisable for a fellow Scandinavian :) And that escalator really is fantastic - it looks just like the real thing. You have good reason to be happy with that! eurotrash Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 What a great MOC you've got. There's some fantastic attention to detail. Brick on!
Mr Copperhead Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 I love subway stations for some reason, and you've really done a great job recreating one.
Cunctator Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Wow it’s perfect! The escalator is the best I’ve ever seen in lego form. Hope to see, soon or later, the real one in Stockholm..
Man with a hat Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Very nice. Those escalators are perfect! Also the dustbins are great, simple but effective. I must only say that I like the old metro better than the old one. The windows may be more accurate on the new one, but somehow they don't look that good.
Hechristensen Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Just brilliant...!! How did you make the commercial-posters?
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Wow this work is perfect, not only the escalator but also the advertising posters. The scary man is funny!
RedGiant Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 I'm standing at the platform of Medborgarplatsen right now, and I can confirm that your build is very accurate! I love the use of colors, especially the mix of yellow on the walls. Great job!
Peter L Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Great MOC! Fantastic detail. Would you be willing to make the Lego style ads you used available. They are pretty amazing.
Asper Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Great MOC - so many details to discover (and great presentation)
Hrw-Amen Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Really nice it would be great to see it incorporated into a larger layout built to the same standard.
Steinkopf Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Beautiful work there, I love the myriad of colours and textures that you have been able to work into this model, the level of detail is fantastic.
brickie Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 (edited) Brilliant work; the escalators are fantastic. Your use of the colours is so realistic It would be great to see the platform a bit longer so you could put in more details. You are right; the bloke near the rubbish bin does look scary. Brickmamba Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Very nice subway station, very faithful to the original, great work
sages Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 LOL at Two and a Half Men poster! Nice station.
WesternOutlaw Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Hi Skrytsson. I've been meaning to comment about this beautiful subway terminal for some time but I wanted to wait until I could draw some additional attention to it. I would so love to see LEGO design and offer a detailed set like this. Front-paged!
Galaxyconquest01 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Thats a great train creation. But how many bricks did you use total? Im just wondering.
Steven Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Superb! Medborgarplatsen is my nearest station by the way. Nice to see it translated into LEGO.
