Legostein Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Hello everybody! Today I'd like to start my new project which I'd also like to share with the community. Ever imagined what Star Wars fans like you and me could have come up with if there never had been an official licensed theme? That's exactly what I want to explore with this now project together with you. The rules are simple: Any licensed pieces (like printed torsos, minifigure heads, special mould pieces, printed tiles, printed bricks etc.) are not allowed. Pieces from other licensed themes (like Harry Potter, Batman etc.) are not allowed either. But these limitations are none at all. Possibilities are infinite. Creativity is infinite. I'd like to start with scene 32 from A New Hope: Greedo confronts Han Solo in the Mose Eisley Cantina The cantina niche setup The cast of characters Going somewhere Solo? - Yes, Greedo. As a matter of fact, I was just going to see your boss. Tell Jabba that I've got his money. You can tell that to Jabba. He may only take your ship. - Over my dead body. That's the idea. I've been looking forward to killing you for a long time. - Yes, I'll bet you have. That's the end of that scene which you all know. There are some more scenes I have done already, and more I want to do. Have a great week-end, ~ Christopher Quote
lego envy Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Nicely done. Greedo is cool and you know who he is when you see him. I love this scene too.. Quote
JackJonespaw Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 This is great! I can't wait to see more. Where are the torsos from? Quote
Mr Man Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Nice work Legostein . I love seeing non licensed SW MOC's. Quote
brickmack Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Looks interesting. I like the design of Han's gun. Quote
Fuppylodders Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 This very muchly captures the lego-esqueness of non licenced lego =D Great job! Quote
Legostein Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 Thank you for the comments everyone! Where are the torsos from? Han Solo's torso is from the adventurers theme (reference link) and Greedo's torso comes from the creator line (reference link). Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 I am convinced that there is no limit to your creativity in making Star Wars MOCs out of other things. Excellent work, Legostein. Quote
Vindicare Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Great job, instantly know the scene, even if the text weren't there. This will be a fun thread to keep my eye on. It's like the pre-1999 days for SW fans thread. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Very nice scene, Greedo is perfectly done! Quote
StoutFiles Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 I like the simplistic feel, reminds me of the good ol' days. Quote
LuxorV Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Nice project and great rendition, Legostein! I especially like the ingenious use of parts for the guns Quote
Legostein Posted February 26, 2012 Author Posted February 26, 2012 Hello! Thank you again for your comments and interest in this new project! You are right, purist minifigures are one important part of this project. I spend indeed a lot of time in finding the right torsos and heads which is not easy. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Destroydacre Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Very cool, but I just have to ask, who shot first? Quote
2comicboys Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Nice job! I especially like Greedo's head. Really excellent. Quote
Praiter Yed Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 An interesting idea for a project Legostein. I like the stripped-down 'classic Lego' style of the vignette but most of all I absolutely love your Greedo . Quote
rakky Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Awesome idea dude, I may have to steal your way of maing greedo as he is too expensive fior me to buy. What scene are you going to make next, if you make another that is. Quote
