konze Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Hello, today I built my first Lego Star Wars MOC. You can see princess Leia who gives R2-D2 a recorded holographic message for Obi-Wan inside the Tantive IV at the very beginning of Episode IV. I hope you enjoy! Best regards, konze Quote
lego envy Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Iconic scene...I like it, as i was told by one of my MOC's small is good. Quote
sealslip3 Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Very nicely done! As much as I love the huge MOCs, the detail that goes into a small one never fails to amaze me Quote
LEGOman273 Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Welcome to EB, Konze! Good job on your first SW MOC. I really like the wall details. Quote
Legostein Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Hello! Nicely set in scene! The starship wall construction also looks good! Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 The base is beautiful in its simplicity, and the wall details are perfect. Welcome to EB! Quote
Mr Man Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 I hope you enjoy! Ooh I do konze. This is lovely, the wall detailing is great, and the over all design is fantastic. Quote
Brickmamba Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Very tidy vignette, little builds of iconic scenes like this are great when done well Quote
JackJonespaw Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Looks nice! I really like this MOC! Welcome to Eurobricks! Quote
brickmack Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Great build (And first post). This really is a very iconic scene from Star Wars. The wall details look great. Quote
Ceroknight Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 A fantastic representation of a classic scene! Well done! Quote
John31388 Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Nicely done I love the simplicity of it Quote
2comicboys Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Wow! For every Star Wars fan, this instantly reminds them of that classic scene that started an amazing trilogy. You just recreated that in Lego form and it is wonderful. Good job. Quote
Mr Benn Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Very nice indeed! Wasn't the little holodisk round though (making the new 1x1 round tiles good candidates?) - or course I may be remembering it wrong, in which case ignore me. Help me Obi-Wan, you're my only hope! Quote

No. It was square. See here. Quote
konze Posted February 27, 2012 Author Posted February 27, 2012 Thank you for your comments, but I have to tell you there is a little mistake. Leia and R2-D2 weren't in a white corridor, they were in a grey/dark/black corridor (which looks very technical). This means that I will make a new one. I hope you appreciate this. Sorry I can't post a link to a photo, because this is my 2nd entry. Best regards, konze Quote

Praiter Yed Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 A lovely little vignette konze, nice and simply styled with a lovely base Quote
rakky Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Really simple, cute and effective. A great MOC, and it also shows that MOC's don't ahve to be big to look really good. Quote

Best regards, konze Hehe, I'm glad you mentioned this yourself, because I really like this MOC, but I felt I needed to bring this to your attention - and now I don't have to Great job and very nice hallway detail - can't wait to see your take on the corridor. Perhaps you can find inspiration here Quote
Brickadeer Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 I like it, and I always think it's a good idea to keep think simple in the beginning. I think is a pretty approximation of the scene without getting lost in details. Basically, the whole scene can be reduced to one "room" (part of the corridor and a closed that marks the end of the corridor) with Leia and R2, two corridors (vertical/horizontal) and one passage in a second wall in front of the "room". b4p Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 I thought she was giving him the Death Star plans, and the recording was done via his external camera (not pre-recorded). you can see at the end where she hears the stormtroopers coming and cuts it off early. Quote
