CMP Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 "I'm fine with my end of the loot," Atramor says, scooping up a small bit of gold and tucking the banana into his hat for another time. "Now, I don't think we beat these fella's that hard, we might have another interrogation opportunity, unless we just wanna move on in our search."
Scubacarrot Posted March 20, 2012 Author Posted March 20, 2012 The loot is divided, Cronk heals both himself and Atramor to full health at the cost of 2 ether, and Rufindel and Nyx take tonics, to restore 5 ether each. When the metasimians attacked, it was dark, but now, nearing the spot, the party can see the glow of dawn. The heroes can smell the saltiness of the sea(along with the mess of the city). The block described by Captain Patricia, turns out to be an unassuming one, consisting mostly of Warehouses and small living houses. The street makes a deserted impression on the heroes. For a while, the heroes wander the block, until they find the following scene: What does the party want to do?
CMP Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 "Yeah, this is definitely the right place...shall we wake up this drunk? Assuming he's alive?"
CorneliusMurdock Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Yes perhaps passed-out man is witness. Cronk will examine the helmet and see if the basement door is locked.
CMP Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Atramor nods to the orcish Paladin and jabs the drunk with his foot. And determines his stats with his Cloak.
Scubacarrot Posted March 20, 2012 Author Posted March 20, 2012 Cronk picks up the helmet, it looks like a standard helmet, as used by the town watch. It is possible it found it's way to the ground after a struggle. He then tries to open the basement door, but it locked from the other side, there is no way the party could get through. Loot: Helmet - +1 health. Suitable for anyone. Atramor kicks the man on the floor, whose only response is a groan. He then tries to use his magical cloak to determine the man's combat prowess. The result he gets is a feeling that the man is no real threat to the party, and also that the man is *Intoxicated*. Good job.
CMP Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Atramor examines the nearby bottles to see if they hold any liquid of value or interest. "I bet this door leads to whatever hideout the apes have, and keep it closed up 'til night when they go out an' do this," he suggests, waving a hand towards the puddle of blood. "I bet if we wait 'til night, we'll be able to get inside."
CorneliusMurdock Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Hmm. Cronk will now examine puddle of blood and see if any blood lead away from puddle. Maybe Atramor should try kicking drunk man harder.
CMP Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 "We still have the Bloody Pointy Stick..." Atramor kicks the drunk even harder.
Scubacarrot Posted March 20, 2012 Author Posted March 20, 2012 The bottles are all as good as empty, and the only clue Atramor got for what was inside, is the strong smell of alcohol. Cronk examines the puddle of blood, and notices something shiny in it. Atramor kicks the man again, and this time he mutters something that can, with a little interpretation, be deciphered as: "Just 5 more minutes, mommy."
Rufus Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 You found something shiny, Cronk? What is it? I think we should keep trying to wake the drunk man. Hey, drunk man! Wakey wakey!
CMP Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 "Maybe ya' should give him a whiff of that Metasimian Ale...?"
Rufus Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 "Maybe ya' should give him a whiff of that Metasimian Ale...?" It might Poison him. We'd be better off waiting for him ti sober up.
CorneliusMurdock Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Cronk will examine shiny thing to find out what thing is.
Scubacarrot Posted March 20, 2012 Author Posted March 20, 2012 Cronk picks up the shiny thing out of the puddle, his hands are now sticky with someone else's blood, it's pretty gross. The shiny seems to be an amulet of sorts, the size of a large, thick coin, covered with encravings, markings and symbols on all sides. Strange Amulet The man does not seem to be responding to the shouting, perhaps a different approach should be taken to remedy the situation?
CMP Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 "Well, that was a very interestingly worded way to say 'quit kicking the drunk.' Who wants to spare a Remedy?"
CorneliusMurdock Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Yay. Cronk find clue! Cronk not know what clue mean but it very exciting. Cronk will take out spare hanky and clean hands.
Pandora Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 "See, he manages to sleep in an alley. Anyway, don't kick him too hard, that's a lot of blood to be outside a person (assuming it's his) and we don't want to accidentally kill him. Atramor, would you like this helmet? The other two already have helmets and I'm not sure this one goes with my outfit. Oh, and why do you think the basement leads to the Metasimians' hideout? It could be anyone's hideout. Or just a basement."
Scubacarrot Posted March 20, 2012 Author Posted March 20, 2012 Disclaimer: not all things depicted are clues, some things are present as decoration, others are there because I ran out of 1x1 round plates. thank you.
Pandora Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Yay. Cronk find clue! Cronk not know what clue mean but it very exciting. "Yay! Nice one, Cronk! Maybe if we can wake this guy up he can tell us what the hell it is." "Well, that was a very interestingly worded way to say 'quit kicking the drunk.' Who wants to spare a Remedy?" "Are you sure that a Remedy cures Intoxication?? Anyway, I nominate Rufindel... "
CMP Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 (edited) "I've already got this dandy cloak and robe, and I'll be damned if I start wearing a bunch'a metal. As for why I think this is the Metasimian's hideout, well, the basement is all of 10...er...studs feet from the crime scene and it's locked from the inside. When we're done interrogatin' the drunk, maybe we should round the block and see if the owners of this buildin' here own the basement too. If not, I think it's a safe bet this is the hideout, and we should wait 'til night to either ambush 'em or sneak inside when/if they come out." Edited March 20, 2012 by CallMePieOrDie
Pandora Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 "As for why I think this is the Metasimian's hideout, well, the basement is all of 10...er...studs feet from the crime scene and it's locked from the inside. " "Okay, but...:" The heroes then decide to move on, to the place pointed at by Captain Patricia. "Aaanyway, I'm sure we'll find out soon enough. I'll hang onto the helmet for now. Oh and Cronk, may I look at the Amulet? There is an outside chance that it might resonate with my Magely ways. Maybe. Who knows?"
CorneliusMurdock Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Be Cronk's guest, friend Nyx. Cronk hand Nyx amulet. Cronk think must be clue. If drunk not recognize it, maybe party look for symbol in further travels. Cronk will try look in boarded up windows.
Rufus Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Ok, I'll see if a Remedy will cure the drunk's drunkenness. Rufindel carefully pours a Remedy down the drunk's throat.
Scubacarrot Posted March 21, 2012 Author Posted March 21, 2012 Nyx examines the amulet, but nothing happens. Cronk looks through the boarded up windows. From what he can see, it looks like an empty warehouse Rufindel forces the man to drink one of his remedies, who gets up, and sits down to the wall! "What? Who are you? And why does it feel like someone kicked me in the stomach?"
