CMP Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 "....Um." Atramor blinks, and whispers to his questmates. "The captain didn't mention anything about customs, did she?"
CorneliusMurdock Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Cronk agree with Atramor. Why would a customs hold up place paladins in prison?
Scubacarrot Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 "... Prison? You mean this is not the customs waiting area?" "..." "..." "Damn it. We have been tricked, AGAIN." "You know, this actually explains quite a bit."
CorneliusMurdock Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 "Indoor voice next time, Cronk..." Cronk's apologies. Cronk not used to whispering.
CMP Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 (edited) "Well, have ya' done anythin' questionable during your brief stay in Eubric? Though I'm not too hopeful about n'answer?" Edited March 2, 2012 by CallMePieOrDie
Scubacarrot Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 "Questionable? My, the rudeness! Perhaps the oversized hat prevented you to hear it the first time, but we are Paladins in the holy order of Ennoc!" "Oooh, if I had my sword, I would Smite you right now, rogue!" "Indeed, since we lack the tools to Smite you right now, we demand you to say a dozen prayers to Ennoc, and a tithe of 50 gold coins. You can give the money to the orc, he seems like a chap that is worshipping Ennoc. Even though he is an orc."
Rufus Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Genetlemen, please do not take offence at my large-hatted friend here. He may have a chicken on his head, but I can vouch that he is a Hero of good repute. If you don't mind my asking, how did you fine Paladins end up in this foul-smelling enclosure?
CMP Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Atramor blinked, this time more in annoyance. "Apologies, my blue mates. I was unaware such tightassed ignorance was worthy of bein' thrown in prison."
Scubacarrot Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 Jacob sends a beam of light in the way of Atramor, blinding him. "Quiet, scoundrel, or I'll alarm the lizardman you have a chicken, I'm sure he could use an afternoon snack." "We were told there was a problem with our luggage, and were brought here to wait until the problem was resolved. We were tricked!"
CMP Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 "S'called sarcasm. Again, ignorance..." Atramor rubs his eyes in irritation, while McCafferey sends an unearthly glare at both blue men. "So a provoked orc n'2 imbeciles worth less than their cloaks. This ain't gettin' us anywhere..."
Pandora Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 "S'called sarcasm. Again, ignorance..." "Atramor, please don't provoke these nice gentlemen, especially as we are locked in here without our weapons, and considerably outnumbered." Having whispered urgently to Atramor, Nyx turns to the two Paladins "Kind sirs, you mentioned that you were tricked. Please may I ask who it was who tricked you? And you say it happened again, may I also ask what happened last time?"
Scubacarrot Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 "Must have been a set-up from the dock workers and the sailors from the ship. Guards must be involved as well, since we are now here..." "Misfortune and trickery seems to follow us wherever we go, must be our nature, that attracts it. Anyway, I am sure this is just a misunderstanding, I hope someone in charge will come down here soon. I am convinced it will be laughed off then. I am afraid I can not tell you much to help your quest, but my colleague here can bless you all. Will this be acceptable?"
CMP Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Atramor grumbles his assent to both Nyx and the paladins. "Fine, fine...just out of curiosity, what was in your luggage?
Pandora Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 "Must have been a set-up from the dock workers and the sailors from the ship." "... my colleague here can bless you all. Will this be acceptable?" "May I ask the name of your ship? And yes, a blessing would be lovely, thank you very much, that's very nice of you. I really hope you get your...uhm.. situation straightened out soon. "
CorneliusMurdock Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Cronk like feeling blessed. It much appreciated. Why would beings try to trick paladins?
Scubacarrot Posted March 3, 2012 Author Posted March 3, 2012 (edited) Jacob speaks a few words, and waves his hand over the heroes' heads, the party feels blessed. *Blessed*- the target has a 50% chance of regaining 3 health at the end of every round. "Wasn't it the Golden Pigeon?" "Errr, I don't know, I must admit. Our luggage consisted of the usual, armor, weapons, holy symbols, exorcism equipment, colorful garments for every occasion... " "Speaking of exorcism, be careful around that skeleton, he is undead. If I had my exorcism equipment, I would Smite it" "I think the heroes noticed that. But anyway, we must now catch up on our daily share of prayers to Ennoc, good luck in your quest, and perhaps we will meet again." The Paladins sit on the ground and start saying prayers, they no longer pay any attention to the heroes, what does the party want to do? Edited March 3, 2012 by Scubacarrot
Pandora Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 "Thanks very... oh, you aren't listening any more, well anyway thanks dudes, for the blessing." Nyx thinks a bit about the Paladins' warning about the skeleton, but reasons it is maybe a little tricky to be walking around as a skeleton and not be a bit undead. Presumably if he were a really, really bad skeleton he would have been vanquished, rather than locked up, she muses, and so far things haven't been quite as they seem, so she decides to talk to him. "Hello Mr Skeleton, my name's Nyx. Would you mind if I asked you a few questions?"
Scubacarrot Posted March 3, 2012 Author Posted March 3, 2012 The party decides to speak to the Skeleton next, when the heroes walk up to him, they notice he is quickly hiding a sphere in his armor. The skeleton speaks: "DOOM AND DEATH AWAITS YOU ALL! Why would I answer your questions, if it is so obvious you have never even heard of the great Necromancer Cthuskeltornoctusdamus!!! CHAOS WAITS!"
Pandora Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 "DOOM AND DEATH AWAITS YOU ALL! Why would I answer your questions, if it is so obvious you have never even heard of the great Necromancer Cthuskeltornoctusdamus!!! CHAOS WAITS!" Nyx smiles sweetly at the shouty skeleton.. Hello Cthuskeltornoctusdamus. Sorry I haven't heard of you, but I'm sure you're a fearful Necromancer and all that, and that DOOM and DEATH await a lot of people, but seeing as CHAOS is waiting and you're locked in here, could you spare us a few minutes to tell us why you're here, and if you know anything about the missing guards we've heard about, and what that shiny thing was that you were just hiding is? Thank you very much.
Scubacarrot Posted March 3, 2012 Author Posted March 3, 2012 "Bah, figured as much, write a succesful series of books 'Necromancy and you' and people still don't know who you are. DOOM FOR THE LIVING! I was on my way to the local orphanage to sacrifice four dozen orphans, thats why I am in this WRETCHED town. THE EVIL FORCES WILL CONSUME YOU! When I returned from a stop at the local inn, I was hungry for some adventurers, it turns out I parked my skeletal Warhorse (Ghouly) in a no-parking zone! DEATH COMES! I was of course going to blast the guards that wanted to drag me away, but my staff malfuctioned, that is why I am here. Missing guards? Serves them right. Worst part about all this? I learned Eubric does not even have an orphanage. Figures."
CorneliusMurdock Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 That not nice at all, Mr Skeleton. Cronk whisper to friends. At least guards lock up right beings some of time.
Pandora Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 "Worst part about all this? I learned Eubric does not even have an orphanage. Figures." "Uhhhm, actually it did... but it might have.. sort of.. burned down... Anyway, moving on, Mr Cthuskeltornoctusdamus, you still haven't told us what the sphere was? That one you just hid? Just now as we came to talk to you?"
Scubacarrot Posted March 3, 2012 Author Posted March 3, 2012 (edited) "Yes yes, You, my lady, are too curious for your own good! FEAR THE MIGHT OF DEATH!"
