caperberry Posted March 7, 2012 Author Posted March 7, 2012 (edited) I had a dream last night that I opened an eBay lot I bought. It was a large castle with white bricks for the walls. But everything was spray painted with this half-clear glittery paint, which I couldn't tell from the eBay photo! I was a bit stressed about it. Then, ironically I woke up and before work opened this ebay lot I bought of a bunch of minifigs, and they were all in pretty bad shape with all kinds of dirt and scrapes on them. That's probably why I had that dream, because I had a feeling that would happen. I also had a Lego dream a while back where I made a sweet MOC with a guard tower near a tree with a bridge going between the two. (I actually want to make this MOC based on my dream by the way!) I also dreamt that the tree had the little apple pieces on it, but instead of a known color, they were like a translucent golden color - golden glowing apples. That was a total LEGO anxiety dream! Horrible that it turned out to be true Awesome that you are going to make a MOC of your other dream though. Bring on the trans-pearl-gold apples! Edited March 7, 2012 by caperberry Quote
Fernald_Mc Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 I do, but I can't ever remember them when I wake up. Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 I had such a neat dream! A relative brought quite a bunch of minifigures for me, and they were all superheroes. I think that they were some CMF sort of thing. It was an awesome dream! One of those that you regret were not real the moment you wake up. Quote
SilvaShado Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 I'm pretty much with everyone else, most of my LEGO dreams are of finding or buying some really cool set and then waking up and realizing it's not real... very sad. But I also dream of LEGO when I'm in the middle of building something. I try not to start a building project unless I know I can finish it before I go to bed. Otherwise, I sleep restlessly as my brain tries to continue building in my sleep. Just this past week, I didn't finish my Minotaur's Tower for the CMF Series 6 contest before I went to bed. I thought I'd be okay since I knew exactly what needed to be finished and knew how to do it. Regardless, I spent the night finishing the last floor over and over in my dreams. I made sure to finish it after work the next day. The worst dreams are when I don't know how to complete a build and I get anxiety dreams, also of me building, but usually not able to, like my hands won't work right or my eyes won't focus or I don't have the right pieces. Those are close to nightmares. My husband has the same issues which is why on his last build, he stayed up all night to finish, until 5 am when I woke up for work. He knew wasn't going to get any sleep anyway. So he went to bed just as I got up. Said he'd been working 10 hours straight on it. Quote
Palathadric Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Actually, this happens to me an awful lot as well. Although I really rarely finish and significant builds overnight, so my dreams are riddled with building. Still, I'm a deep sleeper and, though I may stay up for a while thinking about it first, once I'm asleep, I will usually stay asleep, even if it means building what I am over and over and over again in that sleep. I consider myself fairly lucky. Quote
dr_spock Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 I day dream about Lego. I think that is a different type of dream. I can remember them but not my sleeping dreams. Memory of those seems to fade away as soon as I wake up and the day progresses. Quote
TheDesuComplex Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Oh yes. Multiple times, all about finding the 'perfect' piece. Quote
caperberry Posted March 10, 2012 Author Posted March 10, 2012 Last night I dreamt I was back at my teenage home and we were having a jumble sale. I divided some pieces up into trays so that each tray had an inventory of the same pieces in it. (behold, the compulsive obsessive me.) Later i realised I should mix them all up and sell by weight so people could choose, but was anxious I hadn't set a price per kilo yet and the sale was starting. Also, my mum had installed a blind in my room which was made out of some sort of LEGO branded playmat! It was upside down though. Ooh, the symbolism of the upside down LEGO logo! What can it mean! Orange Leader Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 The times I dream about LEGO, it's that I'm going to buy a set or can't decide which one to buy... Quote

Orange Leader Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I dreamed last night that I was building a huge landscape. The funny thing is that I was building the night before my dream some small landscapes. I still keep it at small landscapes though... Quote
Laura Beinbrech Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I've had dreams about LEGO before, usually along similar lines.... I.e. when I first got back into LEGO I had a dream that I went to this one department store (that has been out of business for at least 15 years) and found all sorts of classic Pirates, another one shortly after where I went to a different department store and found some old Castle sets still on the shelves (Royal Knights, Fright Knights, Black Falcons, etc) I also had one sometime last year where I went to this HUGE LEGO store and there was this clearance aisle that had boxed sets going back to the 1980's! Needless to say, I was always rather disappointed when I woke up. Quote

mephistopheles Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I had a brilliant dream last night about LEGO but can't remember it! Grrr. I seem to be dreaming of LEGO often recently. Have you ever had dreams (or nightmares!) involving LEGO? In one I do remember I was visiting some town, and the locals had just thrown LEGO pieces away in the street. I couldn't believe my luck and was scrabbling through the gutter looking for pieces that weren't too dirty or damaged. I found a load of trans red 1x1 plates and decided to salvage them. Recently I can really sleep deep since my wIP MOC house is haunting me. It's not really dreaming, but a little bit of your brain thinking about it 24/7... Quote
caperberry Posted March 25, 2012 Author Posted March 25, 2012 (edited) I had a mad dream last night, very long so I'll skip to the LEGO bit at the end My friend had died and I was very depressed. And I began eating wedge plates! They were edible, but pretty tough, like a really dried out old wafer. The different colours were all equally tasteless, but I noticed the dark brown ones were a little too tough - I still ate them though. My grandfather asked was I was eating, and I said in a nonchalant way, "LEGO," like a child caught doing something they know they shouldn't. Edited March 25, 2012 by caperberry Quote

Why not eat other plates? Or bricks? Do printed ones taste different than non-printed ones? Which tastes better: Plates, or tiles? Do stickers make a difference? Do trans-color pieces taste different than solid-color pieces? Edited March 25, 2012 by LEGOman273 Quote
Legobrandon Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Damn, I actually had another LEGO dream last night. But I forgot it after getting so excited about the Series 7 minifigure review. I'll try and "re-dream" it again tonight. Quote
caperberry Posted March 25, 2012 Author Posted March 25, 2012 I blame tiberium_blue for seeding the idea in my subconcious! Why stop at wedge plates? Why not eat other plates? Or bricks? Well that would just be silly. Um... maybe cos they look a bit like tortilla chips? I must say, I do like wedge plates in real life. Not that much though. Do printed ones taste different than non-printed ones? Which tastes better: Plates, or tiles? Do stickers make a difference? I think printed ones would taste awful, stickers even worse and they'd get stuck to your teeth. Mmm... now tiles, I reckon they would be yummy. Do trans-color pieces taste different than solid-color pieces? One would hope so, as the solid ones tasted of nothing. I would like it if trans ones tasted of Gummi bears. Quote

smellsgood Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 (edited) This is cross-posted from the Pirates forum (I didn't realize there was a dream thread here till Zeya pointed it out), so I apologize if you're seeing it twice. I just had the awesomest dream about the Pirates line being resumed. There was a new big pirate ship, with a captain a lot like the one in the collectable minifig line. It was larger than Brickbeard's Bounty, but smaller than the Imperial Flagship. The pirates also had a small ship with a big cannon. The ship was brick-built, and it looked a little like one of the older sets I've seen. The imperials had some kind of roving fort that I don't remember well, and a shiny new redcoat leader minifig. There was also a middle eastern (or maybe Indian) style fort, super detailed, introducing a new faction... Edited March 20, 2013 by smellsgood Quote
