Ugh. Lost two Townies in one Night. :hmpf_bad: Good to know that Isamu and Minoru weren't Townies, but, at the same time, they weren't Scum, either. :sceptic:

We don't know that, yet. For now, I'm assuming that the Special Agents are neutral/Independent, but for all we know, they might actually have been told they were Renegades and could choose sides.

I think it's safe to assume that the Secret Agents present a threat to us, but I would consider the Mutineers of higher priority.

Why is that everyone here thinks the Secret Agents were a secret scum faction, yet you don't seem to see them as an immediate threat and even doubt they are another scum faction?

I find it pretty interesting how few people feel like taking part. They show up to vote, and that's about it :sceptic: At the very least, people could volunteer to be investigated tonight...

I offered my thoughts on the two factions earlier. If we assume the ninja in black is the Mutineer's killer then the Secret Agents probably have to convert their way to victory. With three nights of possible conversions behind us, it seems likely the Secrete Agents are at least up to their starting numbers again.

I'm working with what I know here. I know that, until Today, we knew nothing of the Agents. No kills. I doubt the killers have been that unlucky or that three conversions have taken place already, which would be unbalanced. That said, it does seem more likely that Scum have non-killing roles than Independents, and the absence of a mention of any Neutral win conditions in the rules does make it more likely that the Agents are Scum.

I do also make the assumption that the kills we've seen are those of the Mutineers.

I don't think that the Secret Agents have a vigilante. If they are indeed working for the government, then the government wouldn't allow them to infiltrate and kill off whomever they pleased. I'm not sure what their win condition is, quite honestly.

I think the fact that we have a third faction calling themselves the Secret Agents shouldn't come as a total surprise. After all, there were 32 of us at the beginning and that alone should have meant that more than just one splinter faction was a distinct possibility, even if it wouldn't have been my first inclination. As I often tell my students, always be prepared for the unexpected.

Given the nature of the night kills being restricted to just the black and white ninja, with the white ninja being the vigilante, suggests to me that either the mutineers or the secret agents do not have a night kill. Or at least, they haven't had one to this point. I can't imagine they would've neglected to use it for three nights in a row... unless they had to convert first. My money would be on the mutineers doing the killing so far. The fact that Minoru was a blocker for the secret agents suggests to me that they probably aren't on our side, and might lead some credence to the notion that eventually the secret agents and the mutineers will join forces. I wouldn't be surprised if the secret agents have more ways to sow confusion among us, though.

In the end, I'm not sure how much it matters that there are two renegade factions amongst our ranks. It might make their combined numbers slightly larger, but it also means that each faction is probably a little less powerful on their own than a single, large faction might be. I wouldn't hesitate to vote a member of either faction to be put into the dragon's mouth. If we get to a point where we have to choose between the two, then I'm sure it'll be determined by which seems more dangerous to our cause based on the information we have at the time. However, our goal is to rid ourselves of the Mutineers specifically, so I would think a secret agent would have to be considered quite a bit more dangerous to our cause than a Mutineer to earn that vote. Either way, we still have to systematically root out the traitors in our midst regardless of the form of their treachery.

That said, it does seem more likely that Scum have non-killing roles than Independents, and the absence of a mention of any Neutral win conditions in the rules does make it more likely that the Agents are Scum.

There is a mention of win conditions in the rules for those aligned with other parties, although what those conditions are isn't stated. In the absence of information suggesting the secret agents are Yakuza friendly, I think it's only reasonable to consider them dangerous.

For reasons outlined and for the sake of going with the crowd. :sceptic:

Go for it, I have nothing to hide.

I feel stupid now. :wall: I didn't reread the rules for any additions after Day 1.

In any case, I agree with you. Our task remains the same.

The day will close in a little bit. So you may start sending in your night actions. You have 24 hours from the moment the day closes and not a minute more.

Rushing into the main room, Maniko apologizes for her seeming absence today:

"You wouldn't believe the day I've been having! Chieko-sama has had me feeling like a chicken with its head cut off, with all this training! I've barely had a moment to myself, but I'm here now, so let's see if I can't collect my thoughts.. Forgive me if some of this is repeated."

*The white ninja didn't take an action on the first night, killed Tadao(Templie) on the second, and Isamu(S.A.) last night. I'm inclined to think that the white ninja was blocked on the first night. It looks as though (s)he could be either a Mutineer killer, an uninformed Vigilante (due to the D2 kill), or an independent killer. If it's at all possible to find out, I'd be interested in who (s)he targeted on the first night, assuming (s)he attempted a kill.

*The black ninja has made 3 kills, with a night between killings (and, obviously, two last night), and all have been town. I'd guess Mutineer killer, or an independent with a delay between kills.

*Lizzy has continued to be of little use, it seems to me, only echoing the thoughts of others, rarely, if ever, bringing forth an opinion of her own. Even today, she returned to the numbers/hypotheticals that were discussed back on the first day, which, as we all know, simply aren't that useful. To paraphrase, "I'm totally just guessing at these numbers, and if you factor in recruitment, they may have more than I estimated anyway." Duh, duh, and even more duh! She gave a long-winded speech today, setting out to answer the question of "Which team is more important to target", but ended up asking that exact same question in her closing, never really answering it herself.

*Tamiko has seemed useless from the get-go, and in recent times, has been (less than) subtly encouraging a night kill. Why? What is the motive? I've got a few theories. Perhaps Tamiko is a loyal Yakuza, but is so paranoid about this whole mess, that she won't confide in any of us, and instead hopes to draw a night kill onto herself, so that she can instead take out the killer. Another possibility would be that she is a bit suicidal, and wants to, again, draw a night kill so that she may take the killer down with her. This scenario, though, leaves her open to any of the three factions we are currently aware of. Or maybe she's just an idiot, and with no real opinion of her own, has to go with the majority, at the end of the day.

*Hiroki is, as of today, allegedly "scum". I'm assuming this is to say that he is a Mutineer. Akira claims that Hiroki outed Isamu as a Goon, which, in my eyes, could be either a powerless Mutineer OR Agent. Is it at all possible that Hiroki is acting under cover? The Goon claim he made turned out to be true, after all (assuming that the agents have Goons). We'll find out in the morning, I suppose, and has been said, we will have more to work with based upon that result.

Great Grandfather Lloyd had met a new friend. He had been spending most of the day with the beautiful Stephanie.

cimg0815.jpg

He got caught up gazing into her eyes so he barely noticed what was going on around him. The family was tired of waiting for Gramps so they picked up Horiko and carried him towards the Dragon of Truth.

cimg0817.jpg

Wait! No! I'm not what you think I am! I am a Yakuza! I'm not a bad guy! I'm not a mutineer, I'm not a special agent! But the family had heard enough and threw Horiko into the beak of the beast!

There are 7 more hours to send in your Night Action!
