Because I´m still waiting for the rigging parts, it was time to build a stand.

Warning! Don´t do this without stabilizers attached to the feet!

The angle to watch the falcon is now much better for me.

Hi guys, unfortunately I don't have the required depth to display my MF and so I'm also trying to replicate the stand. May I know what are the 3 grey rectangle beam that are holding up the second level?

Many thanks!

How sturdy is this stand?!

Does the stand or 10179 itself show any signs bending from the weight of the model?

What are the 2 15L Technic Beams in the middle of the stand? They look like they connect to the Falcon.

I maybe trying something like this, but, think some Tehcnic beams on the sides of the stand may be in order.

rahservizi, is you file exactly the same or did you reinforce it in anyway.

Thanks, Jamie

I tried to replicate the stand from the photos: i don't know how the central technic beams are connected to the Falcon and if the stand is sturdy enought for the model, cause as every LDD creation, you have to build it to know if the project is ok in real life. I will order the pieces after i finished building the Falcon.

This is amazing! Much better than spending 5000€ on the original one! Imagine the horrors of coming back from work, only to see a lot of pieces on the floor

just an idea... if you could hold the rigging to the right shape off the model... would 'misting' the rigging in superglue (to get that fumey dry look - I don't actually mean spray the whole thing with glue) and then painting it work? Just thought the glue may give a better layer for the paint to bond to and should hold to the plastic better than primer.

Just curious if any of you have succeeded at creating this stand?

Do you have a refined parts list? Did you need to reinforce the MF at all and if so how do you do it?

Thanks

And here I was a couple of days ago sitting behind my pc browsing bricklink thinking I could get all 5162 parts (or whatever the exact amount was) ordered in 1 batch.......boy was I wrong. Love this project! I'll go continue to ponder on how to make it a reality for myself :)

And approx 5 years later I am done :) This turned out to be a long term project from the moment onward I got all parts. I just built it on and off because of time and wanting to extend the fun. But all in all, it is now finished so I am happy. Note that the antenna is sort of a custom quick build, will receive a normal one soon next week to finalize it. Per the link some random pictures from the early days till end of this morning when I finalized the build.

Sorry for raising this thread from the dead, but I'm trying to replicate the stand : the lxf is showing as invalid and I cannot see how those technic rails in the middle connect to the falcon, the falcon keeps slipping down and the legs are bent at a very jaunty angle : can anyone clarify the stand structure and how it connects to the ship?

Thanks

This is how digital designer interprets it....
