Gryphon Ink Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 My favorite until yesterday was the Burrow. Not the biggest set around, not the most important Harry Potter location and definitely not the greatest play features, but SO cute and so much love in that design. Beautiful minifigs, too. As of yesterday, my new favorite is my newest acquisition, the Alien Conquest Earth Defense HQ. I've lusted after it since I saw the first teaser pics, read every glowing review including the silly reviews on Amazon and stared at it in TRU displays. I always knew it was a great set. But I really fell in love with it when I actually brought it home and built it. Aesthetically, it's a beautiful military sci-fi design. As a play set, it has unlimited possibilities based on a few great action features, a perfect selection of minifigs that allow a wide range of scenarios, and the fact that it combines military and scientific roles. It makes a great shelf model AND a great toy, and my kids spent hours playing with it yesterday and today. That's a perfect Lego set, to me. Quote

You have to find out where that fella from the Jack in the Box commercial lives. If he's able to marry bacon, you should be able to marry a LEGO set. Quote
just2good Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 As someone appointed me on how much the Agents sets are worth, I just remembered I have a dismembered Agents 2.0 Robo Attack set. I've started a personal restoration project on it, and it reminded me how it's one of my favorite sets. The figures are awesome, the robot is the best LEGO has made, and the pieces are cool. Quote
Brickington Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Well my favorite set ever is 6276 Eldorado Fortress, although I've never owned it. My favorite set I ever owned is between 8877 Vladek's Dark Fortress and 7094 King's Castle Siege. -Commander Law Quote
4WD Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I really like the 10197 Fire Brigade. It's not only the largest set I own, but a nostalgic throwback to set 6477 Firefighter's Lift Truck from my childhood. The fire truck sure went through a huge evolution... Quote
Lynx Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 My favourite would be one of the Forestmen sets, probably 6054, the Forestmen Hideout. Just loved playing with it a "few" years back. Of the sets released after 1995, I think I'll say The Battle of Helm's Deep which was just released. This set got me back into LEGO after nearly 20 years. In the future, I hope for a Rhosgobel set (home of Radagast, the Brown. If it is nice and green, features Radagast, a giant eagle and some animals, it could be my favourite set ever. I think I'll give it a shot in creating it myself. :) Quote
Palathadric Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 About the "Rhosgobel" set: Unfortunately, I don't think this will happen. I believe they will only be making sets of things seen in the films. Quote
K-Nut Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 My favorite set of all time is the Fire Breathing Fortress, where my sig-fig comes from. Quote
Garyn Dakari Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Mine has got to be 6080: King's Castle: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=6080-1 All those wall pieces have been so useful over the years, and even just as a built set, it's amazing Quote
Vash the Stampede Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Mine is 9493. A large Star Wars X wing. Quote
Javert Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Medieval Market Village is my all time favourite set! It has everything in this set, and if this set had been released back in the days of the King Leo castle, it would most definitely have come into my possession back then, a set like this one was a childhood dream, which never happened until January this year when an unexpected late Christmas present arrived from LEGOshop! Before this one came out my favourite set ever was the 2nd Hogwarts Castle with the working clock, that was an amazing sets! I'm looking forward to Lord of the Rings coming to the UK as I think Helms Deep is bound to go down well! :D Quote
Faefrost Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 For me, from among the newer stuff that I currently own? It's a tie between the Medieval Market Village and the Aliens Conquest Earth Defense HQ. my all time favorite from childhood was the classic Space Cruiser. Quote
Magma Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 (edited) 918 - Classic Space One Man Ship. This was the first set I got that I can remember. I built it and took it apart so many times when I was a kid. I could build it from memory. A few years ago I got it from the lego trove at my parent's house. It was missing the cockpit roof (4x6 trans yellow plate) - I need to pick a new one up. More recently there are too many good sets to pick just one. Edited May 26, 2012 by Magma Quote
just2good Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 One of my new favorite sets is 9468 Vampyre Castle. The play features are amazing. The figures are amazing. The pieces are amazing. And it looks amazing. It really is an amazing set! Quote
mrklaw Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Lego chassis 8860. Got it for Christmas when it first came out (I think I was maybe 10-11) and it blew me away. It was huge and imposing, and so real. Moving engine, working gearbox, adjustable seats. It was like one of those exploded drawings in a reference book made real. All my Lego ended up being sold or donated when I got older, and 8860 is the only set I went back and bought from eBay to have again in my collection. Quote
adventuresinlego Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Definitely The Burrow set, followed by Atlantis; Portal of Atlantis which is a fun set, if a little uninspired in design, but comes with come fabulous minifigs, I think there's 7 all up, yeah, 7... of the smaller sets... I think maybe the POTC Fountain of Youth because it comes with the 3 Pirates (and I think a skeleton) as well as some cool transparent blue pieces, and some dark green ooh, and the cool waterfall sheet... it's only a small set but it's cute! Quote
Bilbo Baggins Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 10217 Diagon Alley is my favourite set ever because of all the details it has. Quote
avbprincess Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 The 10188 Death Star simply for the sheer volume of detail and playable features. The thought that must have gone into designing it! Quote
HumanPackMule Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 The MMV and Helm's Deep are my current favorites. Quote
Darthluke824 Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Ahhh! So much choice! Maybe the 7965 Millenium Falcon. But then I really like the 4184 Black Pearl! Theres to many of them! But then the 10188, 10129. Basically, I can't decide. Quote
purpleparadox Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 It seems like I visit this thread a lot, always changing my mind. Shelob Attacks is my latest favourite. I can't say enough times how perfect the LOTR figs are! My favourites out of all the figs ever made. Although this year's SW and Superheroes pretty much tie that... Quote
Leo604 Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 In no particular order: 1. 9471 Uruk-hai Army. 2. 7259 ARC-170 Starfighter. 3. 9488 Elite Clone Trooper and Commando Droid Battle Pack. Quote
Crazydance Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Anything electrical en technically advanced will do. But for now I'll go with my first big set after my dark ages. The 8275 Bulldozer! It's kinda heavy, is packed with PF parts and has wireless control. Nuff said. Quote
