the-bricking-builder Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 OT Hi, when do you think that the Emporium (set 10211) will be discontinued? Thanks I think it will be discontinued in 2013, so get it while you can! Quote
Alexgri Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Thanks :D Do you think that the price will increase like green grocer? Quote
Darth Dino Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 (edited) Hi if we say yes, are you going to buy one? If we say no, are you saving your money? I got the FB right now, because i am able to get it for a reasonable price. And i decided to go into the modulars, so getting them for the listprice is the best you can do. No one can promise to you how the FB will go, or if it will going to be as expensive as like the GG. I only can say that most of the five-digit exculsice hard to find UCS collectors sets having a higher price tag than their former listprice. So making money i luck (and not my aim), but saving money if for sure (buying at listprice). Dino Edited May 3, 2012 by Darth Dino Quote
the-bricking-builder Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Thanks :D Do you think that the price will increase like green grocer? Your welcome. I guess the price will increase, but not as much as the GG, because the GE has less rare colors then the GG. Quote

ibecks Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 (edited) I bought a Fire Brigade at the Lego Show last weekend. I'd pretty much talked myself out of it as it's my least favourite of the modulars - I generally prefer the more everyday buildings and I really dislike the flag. On the other hand, I have CC (Bricklink built), GG and GE with plans to get PS and TH, so when I saw it there (probably the last time I'll see it for sale anywhere) I figured I'd complete the set. Plus it's a Jamie Berard building and you've got to love that guy ...and, as one of my friends pointed out: "it's all very well just having shops and restaurants but what happens if there's a fire?" I'm debating not opening it and seeing whether the prices increase, but looking at GG, there's only a £45 difference between used and new. Do you think this is likely to be the case for FB? Stefano Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I generally prefer the more everyday buildings and I really dislike the flag. Ehm, you can always make your own flag, i made the flag of my province in lego and added it to the FB, american firestation with Limburgian flag xD(flag in my pic<< is it) Quote

vlai23 Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 (edited) I agree about not finding the idea of a fire station too exciting, but loved the design of the model itself so much that I had to pick it up. Anyway, since old buildings often find new inhabitants over the decades, I modded mine so that it now houses a hot dog/sausage stand ("The Fire Dog" ) on the right side and a doctor's office on the left & upstairs. I removed the garage door and walled up the inside so the two sides are completely separate from each other, and the driveway is an open passage into the rear courtyard, with a right-side door into the small sausage stand. I built a kiosk window where customers order ("No Seating Available") into the front right side, with steps up to the window mirroring those on the left. The left side is the doctor's waiting room, with the examination room upstairs. I think I moved some of the built-in cabinets around, replaced the furnishings with medical equipment, removed the fireman's pole, and closed up the hole. Also, near the stairs and behind a curtain is the doctor's desk. Maybe I ought to take pics for a new thread. edit: here's a quick picture I took a while back while messing around with a new camera: Edited May 10, 2012 by vlai23 Quote

Legobrandon Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Mine's super simple and a little bit small, but it works for me: *snip* Doesn't look too bad. But a bit small for my liking. I want the flag to be built in the same style as the current American flag on the FB. Quote

Legobrandon Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Of course I'm waiting til tonight to get the FB so I can get the free Hulk minifig and it is now sold out. June 12th is the expected ship date. But I'm sure it will be earlier than that assuming the pattern continues and does not change from previous weeks/months. Its been going on and off like that for quite a while now. Quote
Legofanscotty Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Just got the set and i must say im very impressed with it, although i wasnt too impressed with Lego's packaging, luckily though the box arrived in perfect condition Quote

melbs Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 oh no just read this thread. just ordered the FB from lego shop last may 4, did they sort out the missing bag already? Quote
Locutis Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 oh no just read this thread. just ordered the FB from lego shop last may 4, did they sort out the missing bag already? Yes, they sorted out the missing bag problem. The only reason the FB is still available is that (apparently) they had to do another whole run of some special parts, and so they figured they may as well do more sets and keep selling them. I have noticed that the boxes on the new sets are different than those from before 2012. Has anyone else noticed a difference in the box? Mine says "Fire Brigade" on the end by the picture and the box is a different shade of blue (I have several sets from over the time they have been out). Locutis Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 (edited) Is there any way to determine whether or not there will be a missing bag in an unopened set? I ordered a an extra one from S@H about a year ago this month, as well as, a second hand one months before. The second hand was 100% complete, but I am unsure about the other and have no plans to open it. Any clues or maybe anyone know the dates of the 39R1 (or what that is) run? Edited May 17, 2012 by Lego Guy Bri Quote
Ricecracker Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 39R1 is the production code. The production code is printed on the seals of the box. Quote
Legofanscotty Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 (edited) The FB i just received this week had an instruction manual with adverts of the now discontinued Grand Carousel and Tantive IV, did Lego just reprint the manuals with old Ads in them? Edited May 17, 2012 by Legofanscotty Quote
fyrmedhatt Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 The FB i just received this week had an instruction manual with adverts of the now discontinued Grand Carousel and Tantive IV, did Lego just reprint the manuals with old Ads in them? The instructions and boxes are usually not changed during the lifespan of a set, so my SSD box shows two sets that already are discontinued on the packaging (10198 and 10215), not to mention the compulsory three modulars image on every modular building which contain discontinued modulars for the older sets.
