October 17, 201113 yr I'm not liking the Batcave at all. It seems a bit junior. I mean I know it's aimed at kids primarily but it does nothing for me and I know this because the only part of the entire set that caught my attention was the Batphone. *sigh* I'll wait and see what the other sets are like before making a proper judgement though. If nothing else some of the figs are cool. I'll definitely be getting Superman. Possibly Hulk depending on his face design.
October 18, 201113 yr This could just be talking about the sets that we've seen so far. The article doesn't specifically say that there will be additional sets released in May. But the fact that Green Lantern and a Harley sets haven't been leaked yet may debunk this or it could just be like what somebody has said: TRU/Target/Walmart exclusives. Hmm...I've been misreading that this whole time, even though I still think that they would. Anyway, lets go with this, the majority of the Marvel sets are fouces around The Avengers movie. You know, like Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape, Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout, Quinjet Aerial Battle, and probably Captain America's Avenging Cycle are based on the movie. And LEGO never said Green Lantern was going to be released in a set, I mean, I'd expect it down the road, maybe even as early as the first wave because of his action figure. Riddler and Harley are the ones missing....
October 18, 201113 yr The arrangement I believe is multi-year, so anyone missing now should make an appearance. With the Marvel sets.....it's a May for The Avengers so we will not see any sets until April next year.
October 18, 201113 yr Marvel and DC in the same theme... Means Disney and Warner Bros in the same theme!
October 18, 201113 yr It could just be the Super Heroes videogame which we've already heard about, but here's news of a LEGO Batman sequel! And even though it's from Brickipedia, they have sourced it
October 19, 201113 yr It could just be the Super Heroes videogame which we've already heard about, but here's news of a LEGO Batman sequel! And even though it's from Brickipedia, they have sourced it So there will be Lego Batman 2 and a Lego Superheroes videogame?
October 19, 201113 yr So there will be Lego Batman 2 and a Lego Superheroes videogame? Yes. And we're already discussing the game in the Multimedia forum.

But the fact that Green Lantern and a Harley sets haven't been leaked yet may debunk this or it could just be like what somebody has said: TRU/Target/Walmart exclusives. Um no, did you read that is specifically says from the press release: "Play things based on the Dark Knight Rises" None of the sets we have seen are based on TDKR. Thus meaning there is more Batman sets coming in May/Summer. Edited October 20, 201113 yr by Macoco
October 20, 201113 yr What do people *think* this exclusive *might* be? Harley and Riddler seem like an odd pair up...
October 20, 201113 yr From Variety, but if you still want to ask LEGO, go ahead: WB and Lego had already been producing toys and videogames around the Batman franchise, and will launch a new set of playthings around next summer's "The Dark Knight Rises" through the Lego Batman collection. The "Lego Batman: The Videogame," published by WB Bros. Interactive Entertainment, has sold more than 12 million units since 2008."This partnership gives builders a chance to recreate the characters, vehicles and worlds of some of the most iconic super heroes, so they can relive the action and even customize it, a proven and winning formula in Lego construction," said Jill Wilfert, VP, licensing and entertainment for the Lego Group. Is this saying 'lego sets based on TDKR' or just 'LEGO will release more sets at the time the film is released'? The last lego Batman line used ideas from the new Batman films (such as the tumbler) but you couldn't really say the sets were film merchandise (partly because the film and the sets are aimed at different ages ranges, and consequently the kids who want the sets won't have seen the film, or even been old enough to). I'd guess that this new range of sets will follow a similar pattern (that of being inspired by, but not directly linked to the new Batman film). A commissioner Gordon fig would be fun though. October 20, 201113 yr What do people *think* this exclusive *might* be? Harley and Riddler seem like an odd pair up... Agreed, but all Batman villians are united under Arkham, except for a handful, like Penguin and Catwoman Is this saying 'lego sets based on TDKR' or just 'LEGO will release more sets at the time the film is released'? No idea, but I'd prefer the latter (for more villians) Edit: Now that I've reread your post I see that one of your points is that kids won't be old enough to see the movies, but LEGO has a history of licensing to PG-13 movies- * Harry Potter * Prince of Persia * Batman (in general) * Indiana Jones * Star Wars III * Pirates of the Carribbean * Spider-man I & II * Et cetera Edited October 20, 201113 yr by Superficial Username
October 21, 201113 yr What do people *think* this exclusive *might* be? Harley and Riddler seem like an odd pair up... In the comics Harley has worked with Eddie quite a bit with Ivy and Catwoman. The series is Gotham City Sirens, I recomend it to anyone and everyone!
October 21, 201113 yr In the comics Harley has worked with Eddie quite a bit with Ivy and Catwoman. The series is Gotham City Sirens, I recomend it to anyone and everyone! Point taken, but with just him and Harley it seems hardly a reference to GCS, which was pretty great, if not a little sexist
October 21, 201113 yr 'Superficial Username' makes a valid point....Lego make sets for PG13 films even when these sets are usually marked 7+.....now my son who is eleven has seen all the Harry Potter , Star Wars and POTC films (except the latest.....I think ), but now thanks to the likes of Cartoon Network all the Super Heroes are known to every kid watching over the age of four. Heck, when I was young live action Batman and cartoon Spiderman were on TV and I lapped it up !
October 21, 201113 yr well I hope the sets are based on TDKR otherwise our chances of getting a Comic Con Batman in sets just went down the toilet. Edited October 21, 201113 yr by Macoco
October 21, 201113 yr well I hope the sets are based on TDKR otherwise our chances of getting a Comic Con Batman in sets just went down the toilet. Not necessarily, they could easily be like the last Batman wave and have a movie inspired Batman and maybe a vehicle which appeared in the movie. I'd prefer this as it would give us higher chances of non-movie villians, even though I do want a movie-based Two-Face over the purple/orange one.
October 22, 201113 yr What do people *think* this exclusive *might* be? Harley and Riddler seem like an odd pair up... I'd like to see something with Hugo Strange, Killer Croc, or Man-Bat.
October 22, 201113 yr I'm disappointed. I wanted the 'old' Robin from the LEGO Batman sets from 2008. Hopefully, you guys are right. We SHOULD get the movie Batman sets, the same goes with the Spiderman sets that will be released, when the Spiderman movie comes out, then we should get those sets.
October 22, 201113 yr I can't tell, will the new Batman figs be the same as the previously released sets OR new figures?

LEGO can't release Spider-man sets based on the movie because they don't have a SONY license. The press release said he and Ock would be comic-book styled I can't tell, will the new Batman figs be the same as the previously released sets OR new figures? New, as you see from the Comic-con images, if you're referring to Batman himself. If you mean Batman in general, yes, as you can tell from not only Comic-Con, but Two-Face's colorsheme
October 22, 201113 yr If TLC do release sets on next years batman movie, I do hope to see a TDKR Batwing Edited October 22, 201113 yr by Housey98

If you mean Batman in general, yes, as you can tell from not only Comic-Con, but Two-Face's colorsheme I thought Two Face's nausea inducing color scheme was a color error, as the leaked pictures aren't exactly great. If it is the real color scheme, then I see a massive price increase for the old Two Face, it'll be the new Catwoman...

I don't think it's a common mistake to mix up at least 100+ pieces of black and white with orange and purple

October 23, 201113 yr I wonder when we'll finally get to see finalised images of the First Wave of sets - and I'm very curious as to which set will include Green Lantern, and also the villains we have yet to see - ( Harley Quinn, The Riddler) Perhaps a TRU exclusive? I just really want a Harley Quinn as she is probably my favourite villain apart from the Joker AND because I missed the last one
