The Penguin Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 That's another thing I was shocked about; that you initially didn't notice your absence from the minifig list. It's sad indeed, but let's be honest, could TLG do any better than last time? Yes, I didn't! It just never occured that they could've left me out! Well, I guess Penguin was great, yes. But I still wouldn't mind a new figure, since variety is always good. Not to mention it could make another addition to my The Penguin collection! (statures, figurines, minifigures, comics, etc....) *manic laughter* I'm guessing Wonder Woman will be in the Superman VS. Lex Luthor set, you know, to give him backup. Not that Mister Perfect would need any. (Yes, I'm not a Supes fan either.) Yay! Another person who doesn't like Superman! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 (edited) Here are my predictions for the DC theme using this list of minifigures (I crossed out the oneson the list I didn't have to guess with, and italisezed the ones I am guessing with): Bane Batman Catwoman Harley Quinn Lex Luthor Superman The Joker Wonder Woman Poison Ivy Two-Face Bruce Wayne Robin The Riddler 6858 Batman vs. Catwoman Minifigures: Batman and Catwoman Veichles: I would guess either the Bat-cycle or one of LEGO's own creations for Batman. Catwoman probably will have another motorcyle or a car of some sort. Price: $9.99-12.99 I really don't know much about Superman (I don't care for him either), but here is my guess.... 6862 Superman vs. Lex Luthor Minifigures: Superman, Lex Luthor, and Wonder Woman (Where else?) Veichles: Mech for Luthor I'd suppose Price: $19.99 6863 Batman vs. The Joker Minifigures: Batman, The Joker, and Harley Quinn (The Joker's Lover) Veichles: Batmobile and some sort of car or truck for The Joker Price: $39.99 6864 Batman vs. Two-Face Minifigures: Batman, Two-Face, The Riddler (Friends with Two-Face) Veichles: Batwing and some sort of helicoptor or truck for Two-Face Price: $59.99 6860 The Batcave Minifigures: Batman, Bruce Wayne, Robin, Poison Ivy, Bane (All default) Veichles: None Price: $79.99 4526 Batman Price: $12.99 4527 The Joker Price: $12.99 4528 Green Lantern Price: $12.99 That all adds up to about $240, which sounds about right, but I don't think that the contest values were correct as the Batcave could not the be the largest set in a $250 wave and be only $50. There are a couple things that don't add up to me though: First of all, the Green Lantern is being released as a constraction figure (though I would choose him over a Wonder Woman one )but not as a minifigure , unless he appears in 6864 or 6865 as back-up for Batman. Second: Poison Ivy and Bane teaming up, doesn't Poison Ivy hate men ? Though LEGO could of just thrown them in because neither would need a fancy veichle. LandShark Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Those seem like pretty realistic guesses, Superficial Username. We should have preliminary pictures soon, I can't wait! Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 6865 The BatcaveMinifigures: Batman, Bruce Wayne, Robin, Poison Ivy, Bane (All default) Veichles: None Price: $79.99 ... SoupOrFishOil Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 What makes you think the Batcave is the largest set in the wave? Set numbers, unless it is an exclusive (which I don't think that we would be hearing about just yet). Quote
LandShark Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 What makes you think the Batcave is the largest set in the wave? It would make sense, but I suppose it could just be a small version. As I understand it, the '60s TV show and movie (everything with Adam West as Batman) is one of the few Batman iterations not owned by DC parent company Warner Bros. (I believe Fox has the rights to that show and movie, though of course it was licensed from DC), so it's probably out of bounds for the deal, but I could be wrong. Damn, lots of characters and vehicles from the 60's series would've been great in Lego form. And it wouldn't really make sense for Lego to get a whole new license deal for a show that most kids probably won't know. Also, I imagine there will be plenty more Batman sets in the summer wave, what with Dark Knight Rises coming out. It should be a great summer for Bat-fans! Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 (edited) Set numbers, unless it is an exclusive (which I don't think that we would be hearing about just yet). And where'd you get that set number (6865)? According to All About Bricks, The Batcave is set 6860 (and set 6865 is supposedly a Marvel set, with Captain America). halomaster96 Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 No, because it was said numerous times that the DC sets are the January wave and the Marvel ones the summer wave. Try to keep up! Sorry I didn't even know that . Now that I've seen a set list I really want to know what's in them! Quote

According to All About Bricks, The Batcave is set 6860 (and set 6865 is supposedly a Marvel set, with Captain America). A typo, as I copied and pasted from the Joker set to save time and didn't check the proper set number. But now I am confused that I notice the set numbers for Catwoman and The Batcave compared to the others. We'll find out in a month or two I suppose. There was a set like this one in the past: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=7779-1 I'd be in for some kind of roof chase. Yeah, I noticed that, but LEGO really loves veichles. I wouldn't be surprised if it is some sort of simple structure though as the only veichles listed were the Batmobile and Batwing, but I thought that could be because LEGO created their own bat-veichle, like the Dragster from 2006. Yeah, I imagine most of the construction sets will be vehicle-based. And Lego could easily create their own Bat-vehicles, Batman's had a lot ridiculous adventures over the years, most people wouldn't even realize. And what do you think are the chances of us getting sets/minifigures based on the Nolan films? EDIT: 100th post! I'm a citizen! Edited August 12, 2011 by LandShark Quote

We will according to variety.com: ...WB and Lego had already been producing toys and videogames around the Batman franchise, and will launch a new set of playthings around next summer's "The Dark Knight Rises" through the Lego Batman collection. Here's the cast on wikipedia, I suppose we might get James Gordon or Ra's Al Ghul for new figures, as Bane and Catwoman are already in the line-up, according to Grahme. I would hope that we would get minifigures and sets from the whole trilogy so we could have a new Scarecrow and Tumbler. Edit: I really should of read that article on wikipedia, apparently there is a new Tumbler in it. Edited August 12, 2011 by Superficial Username Quote
K-Nut Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 I really like most of the Marvel minifigs. My only complaint is Iron Man. (Who is my favorite avenger, ironically.) It would be better if they added a printed red version of the series 4 Hockey Players armor. Overall I'm very impressed with the DC minifigs except for Joker. I'm not a fan of the yellow. Especially the teeth! Do any Batman experts (coughPenguincough) know if Jokers teeth are supposed to be yellow? Or is that just a bad brushing job? On another note, I love that Poison Ivy! The hair, face, printings, perfect! I don't care the price, I need that fig! Quote

Blondie-Wan Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 If the rumored list is true, you have to wonder what will become of the Green Lantern. He isn't mentioned anywhere. On the DC side of things this line sounds like a Batman line with a few A-list cameos from Supes, Luthor and Wonderwoman. If his Comic Con fig is the only LEGO version of Green Lantern made available, prices will go through the roof! As for Green Lantern... No idea. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Maybe we'll get Green Lantern in a promotional polybag. Quote
Ro87n Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 The (one and only) LEGO slogan is getting stronger and stronger, licence after licence; "The only limit is your own imagination" Go LEGO, GO!! Even though I do own a Robin Minifig I do like to have an improved fig or with molded hair piece. Quote
God Iron Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 I don't think we are getting Green Lantern or any 'Dark Knight Rises' sets in the first wave. It's more likely we will see those in the summer wave in time for the film's release. The Green Lantern mini-figures given out were based on the recent film, while the constraction figure is based on the comics. If a Green Lantern figure did make it's way to sets it's likely it would be based on the comics and have a difference appearance. The Catwoman figure we saw is based on the comics so it's likely we will get the movie version in the summer with every DC set being based on comics until the next wave. I think they will still to Blue-Batman as for the winter wave then release a new Movie figure for the summer sets. The one given out at Comic-Con was based more on the 2008 film than the new film, from my judgement. Hope we get pictures soon. Quote
The Penguin Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Do any Batman experts (coughPenguincough) know if Jokers teeth are supposed to be yellow? Or is that just a bad brushing job? Wagh-wagh? Someone needs my help? To the Duckmobile! Nah, I hate Duckmobile, limo is much more classy..... Joker's appearance greatly varies from comic to comic and depends mostly on the approach a novel writer and an artist choose him. If the author sees him as a more insane and murderous loonatic then he gives him a "messy", wild, slightly monstrous look, which often results in him having yellowish, sometimes sharpened teeth. Nut I personally favor the second approach: of him, being a calmer, calculating villain, who cares for his appearance, well to be frank a classical "homophobic nightmare" approach. Observe: Wild: Fabulous: As for LEGO minifigures, I guess yellow is a natural choice for the minifigs (this Joker, previous one and Harley Quinn), since white may look a bit blank on white face. Well, I guess, I'm defending TLC designers now, since it didn't bither them when making a mime minifig. In any case I'll be modding the new Joker to have while teeth a different hairpiece and slightly different outfit. Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Quote
Miss Kyle Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 (edited) I think he even has yellow-ish teeth in the Animated Series, where he looks pretty harmelss. And yeah, it's definitely for contrast to his white skin. Edited August 13, 2011 by Miss Kyle Quote
Oky Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Indeed. Even Harley's teeth were colored yellowish from time to time in that show. I think it fits. Quote
thelegoguy Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 I agree, I was expecting Batman but instead we have the whole lineup! I like all of the figures, though some could do with work. Iron Man's head is oversized, but I guess that's not too bad. The Hulk needs improvement. Seems that I was wrong about the "buildable figures". That's nice, but I'll only be getting Iron Man because he's the closest to the actual character. Thanks for the images though. batman looks pretty cool . I think they should use the old joker smile as it looks better but other than iron man's giant head they all look awesome , I can't wait Quote

And yeah, it's definitely for contrast to his white skin. Indeed. Even Harley's teeth were colored yellowish from time to time in that show. I think it fits. Indeed so. However in TNBA he has white teeth again: Which makes me think that both in comic stories and animated versions his teeth match his eyes, rather than skin. I mean yellowish eyes are not healthy, so why not give him such a teeth colour? Eureka! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Quote

K-Nut Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Wagh-wagh? Someone needs my help? To the Duckmobile! I didn't think Mr. Cobblepot was supposed to help people. And what's a Duckmobile? The yellow teeth make sense now, but I still think the yellow on his torso should be orange. Maybe I'll change the torso with the old one and see how it looks. Quote
