Cammo Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Good eye! I did some more digging. Not only is it a different color hat. The whole torso is a different print! Lots of little question marks, the large one in the center is now purple instead of black, and the question mark belt buckle is gone. Another difference: the hands aren't the same color. Pics for comparison: It gives him more of an Arkham City-look. Notice that his mask is green instead of purple as well. Quote
andhe Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 125 Made NY Toy Fair 2012 Exclusive. Iron Man and Capt America That's odd if they're the freebies, as I thought the official Iron Man had the giant bobble head. The one in that picture looks like the custom figs I've seen. Slightly underwhelmed by the Avengers stuff, think I'll be saving my money for LOTR stuff. Depending on the other part of the Captain America set will make or break whether it becomes a must buy for me. Quote
Brickity Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Loki and Magneto! What is wonder woman doing in Black widow's outfit by the way? Quote

Maybe, but if it was Arkham City, wouldn't he be wearing a suit? And wouldn't he have purple sunglasses instead of a green mask? The green mask piece looks to be the old Robin face from the original Lego Batman line. Old Robin Head Arkham City Riddler Edited February 12, 2012 by phanstasm Quote
K-Nut Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 125 Made NY Toy Fair 2012 Exclusive. Iron Man and Capt America I'm not really digging those figs. They did do Iron Man in the right way there, but the face doesn't look right for him. Just a feeling. Quote
ScaryScarecrow Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I wonder if they have another set planned for Riddler and that version shows up and they showcased the wrong fig. maybe it'll be an arkham city set They've done it before (In the newer version of the Gungan set with the name I forgot, they used the old Gungans instead of the new kind). GuntherThePenguin Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Personally, I am loving all of these sets and I cannot wait to see these sets officialy completed! I am also intrigued to see what this mystery villain is in the Cap. set. Quick question: does anyone know the prices for these sets? I could only make out a few from the pictures, and I need to start saving now! Quote

K-Nut Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 The mystery villains in the cap set is msot likely the aliens from The Avengers superbowl trailer That's what I was thinking. I was hoping there's be Red Skull in that set, (thus the spoiler) but alas, it seems not to be. Quote
GuntherThePenguin Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 The mystery villains in the cap set is msot likely the aliens from The Avengers superbowl trailer Yes, I believe that to be the case also, but perhaps not.... Either way, I'm excited to see how Lego makes the figs. Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 (edited) That new Riddler sure is interesting, I can't say I like it more though. I suspect that it was a prototype for 6857 that we never saw (we never did see preliminary pictures of that set). Kind of like how Jabba is white (even though the pictures from Nuremberg looked near final with full color and print) and most of the Marvel minifigures don't even have decals or close faces (Thor doesn't even have a beard). Oh, and since nobody else pointed it out, there are two variations of Iron Man between the two sets he is in. I wonder if they have another set planned for Riddler and that version shows up and they showcased the wrong fig. maybe it'll be an arkham city set They've done it before (In the newer version of the Gungan set with the name I forgot, they used the old Gungans instead of the new kind). I wouldn't count on an Arkham City set. Doesn't even look that much like the Arkham Riddler, looks kind of like a cross between the original Riddler and Frank Gorshin. I would still like another Riddler set though. Maybe they could actually give us his cane. Good point about the Gungans too though. Edit: I just noticed Magneto has a purple cape, I am so getting him Edited February 12, 2012 by Superficial Username Quote
Algernon Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Am I the only one who finds these sets a little disappointing? The only one that interests me at all is the helicarrier. Oh well, more money for Lord of the Rings and Monster Fighters. Quote

Oh well, more money for Lord of the Rings and Monster Fighters. I'm not a Marvel fan, but that is the only set that really attracts me. Even then mostly because it has good parts for expanding the Batcave. I do want Black Widow and Magneto for minifigure parts though. I might get Captain America's cycle too, that red motorcycle looks nice. Quote

deskp Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Magneto figure looks incredible cute! Anyone else notice they are playing INVADER on one of the cuputer screen in the heli carrier. Amsuing seeing as the movie is about aliens invading or soemthing. Hoping for serious improvement on Loki he looks very disapointing. Quote
sok117 Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Am I the only one who finds these sets a little disappointing? The only one that interests me at all is the helicarrier. Oh well, more money for Lord of the Rings and Monster Fighters. I agree with you however I think the Heli-carrier is one of the worst offenders. Here are my thoughts. 1. Captain America Avenging Cycle- Looks pretty good so far, a Simple full body dark red motorcycle which looks nice. The stickers really do it justice though, also I notice the clip on the back which I assume holds his sheild to block attacks from the rear. The "General and foot soldier" sound interesting,The general will most likley be driving a hover car sort of vehicle, sounds like a great set for 12 dollars! 2.Lokis Cosmic Cube Escape- This set looks awesome! The pick-up has a very tough and rugged feel, really heavy duty and awesome! The colours are cool and the set is really stream-lined. I also really like the front grill, the flood lights and the rails on the back of the pick-up. The one thing I don't like is the figures though, they're all repeats more or less 3. Wolverine Chopper showdown- Right of the bat the figures all look amazing! Deadpool is spot on, and Magneto looks super cool. Wolverine is nothing new but still sweet, oddly this is the only set that looks final. The motorcycle is simple and cool with a classic body, the chopper on the other hand is a bit disappointing. It's got some nice pieces but it looks way to blocky rather then stream lined. It's a must get because of the exclusive figs but it's a pretty shotty model. 4. Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout- Kind of dissapointed they went for a Home-One appeal but wahtever. I see four figs, one of which is exclusive, the beautiful bulk of a Hulk! Truly an awesome figure but thats where the awesomeness ends. The set looks like a mishmash of platforms. Left to Right 1. A platform to analyze/Hold Loki's weapons and a white lazyboy recliner 2. Some hightech floating holo screens that are poorly represented in Lego form 3.Holding cell for Loki, pretty unimaginative if you ask me, also looks like a fire extinguisher to the immediate right. 3.5. Looks like the bridge for the helicarrier, two drivers seats with control panel and lookout view 4.Some sort of function to fling barrels of octane at the jet, pretty weird if you ask me. 5.Some sort of containment area, maybe to hold the power cube. Lastly, the jet looks a little sub par, I'm holding my judgment though cause I think it might looks better from a different angle. Overall, a little disappointed but whatever. 5. Quinjet- I've got mixed feelings about this set, on the one hand, the body is really streamlined and nicely shaped but the wings look a little half-assed. The engines look really cool though and the cockpits look awesome. I can't wait to get this set and really get a feel for it. I'm also interested to see Loki's chariot. I'm also interested as to what comes out of the rear door. Overall, some sets are really nice and some could use work. I still can't wait to see some more official images and the other half of some sets! Quote
Masked Builder Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I was planning to get the Quinjet but I'm really not too sure I like it now that I've seen the pictures. Maybe there'll be some better pictures from FBTB. I really like all of the minifigures except for Iron man, the helmet is too large, and Thor doesn't have a beard, what's up with that?! Quote

Clone OPatra Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 It's because the minifigs aren't doe yet, even though the release date is in two months. I'm sure at LEGO the figures are done; they just didn't bring them to Toy Fair. Since they are clearly trying to 'hide details' anyway, what with the whited out boxes and all, having the rest be preliminary as well seems to make sense. Sure, it's disappointing, but it's not like we have that long to wait before seeing the finished products. I'd bet that official product pictures will surface some time in March. Quote
