halomaster96 Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I really like all of these sets even though they aren't final. Did anyone else spot Man-bat? Quote
autobrick Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 (edited) Captain America's Avenging Cycle - I was expecting for the Captain to have Mutt's/Mac McCloud's motorcycle in a new colour, but at least this 'modern' mold bike is in a new colour. I will buy it anyways. Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape - The Truck looks cool, but the minifigs (which are great) are all available in bigger sets. A small variation in Iron Man isn't worth the purchase, IMO. Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout - Jet and Minifigs are nice, but the 'helicarrier' is completely underwhelming. It is annoying that the Hulk is exclusive to this set, but I suppose he will be available in future waves. Quinjet Aerial Battle - This set really doesn't do much for me. I like the minifigs, but not the jet; I hope the other half of the battle is more impressive. Wolverine's Chopper Showdown - Nearly missed this one! I have to say, this one looks pretty cool! The minifigs are great, the chopper looks pretty good and Wolverine gets the motorcycle that Captain America wants. Just so nobody else misses them [1][2] Overall, I can't help but feel a bit disappointed. As someone who missed out on the original Batman theme, I enjoyed the first DC wave more than I like this second Marvel wave. Edited February 12, 2012 by autobrick Quote
Masked Builder Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 No Spider-Man set images yet? I want to think Megablocks has the Spider-man set license.... Quote
Clone OPatra Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I want to think Megablocks has the Spider-man set license.... Have you been paying attention? We're getting a Comic-style Spider-Man/Doc Ock set. Mega may very well have the license for the film, but LEGO has it for the comics. Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I want to think Megablocks has the Spider-man set license.... For the SONY movies. LEGO owns the rights for Marvel's Spider-man comics. Quote
MakutaNocturn Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 YES! YES! YES! There is Deadpool! Yeepee :D It's the only reason why I will be saving money for SuperHeroes set! Good to see him. What do you think? Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I want to think Megablocks has the Spider-man set license.... No, we know there will be a Lego Spidy set, '6873 Spider-man's Doc Oc Ambush'. I assume it'll be like the Jokers Hideout set, and that we won't see pictures of it till the main sets are nearing release. A shame, but considering all of the images from all the sets we've got today, I'm not complaining. Quote
Masked Builder Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Heh heh, shows how much I know! I can't wait to see it then! Quote
Masta' Blasta' Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Heh heh, shows how much I know! I can't wait to see it then! I just wish they would have shown us some prelims, already. All of this waiting is going to my head. Quote
nuparu51 Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 The only ones I'll be getting are the Cosmic Cube Escape and the Wolverine chopper set. I'm a bit underwhelmed. Quote
______ Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Absolutely loving these Marvel sets! I'll have to get the Wolverine Chopper Showdown as it has 3 of the best figures, all in one set! I am also really fond of the Quinjet and the S.H.I.E.L.D Jeep. I gather the bad guy in the Avenging cycle set is Red Skull and one of his henchmen, giving that the Marvel website describes the bad guy as a "General". Quote
The Real Walkers Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Does anyone else think that Iron Man looks rubbish?? Quote
nuparu51 Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Does anyone else think that Iron Man looks rubbish?? I second that. Quote
The Real Walkers Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I second that. I just think the head is way too big and makes him look really stupid Quote
just2good Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 The only new sets from Super Heroes that I really like is the Hulk Heli-carrier Breakout and the Wolverine Chopper Escape. Iron Man doesn't look right... Quote
______ Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Iron Man is preliminary, you can tell that by the fact he hasn't had the blue eyes added yet, furthermore it needs to be able to flip the visor up. Quote
Omicron Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 (edited) I like how you guys are complaining about the Avenger's figures not being complete. Obviously they are the same prototypes from Comic-con that Marvel had on hand, and Lego probably was not able to get them the finished figures in time when pics were taken for the site. Also love the Wolverine, Magneto and Deadpool figs. And that green bowler Riddler fig. And those Toyfair exclusive Cap and Iron Man figs look custom. The decals on Iron Man are badly designed. And why that polybag? -Omi Edited February 12, 2012 by Omicron Quote
metalface13 Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Ah, I was confused about the Toy Fair exclusive Iron Man and Captain America. Looks like we'll get a helmeted version of Iron Man after all. If they can get the helmet size to be Boba Fett/Mandalorian sized I'll be OK. But that prototype is just out of proportion. Yes, the stormtrooper helmet is big, but in the film, the helmet does look big on their bodies. But in Iron Man, the head is pretty proportional to the rest of the suit. Quote
djmangunz Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I am one of those weird guys who hates (HATES) to see images of Lego sets before I have them in hand. It's kind of like seeing your Christmas presents before Christmas day. In my mind it ruins the excitement. Obviously I am in the minority here. That being said, I am looking over some of your descriptions of the Avengers sets with one eye closed. And I will be danged if I have come across anyone mentioning Nick Fury being included in a set. Now, I know that Lego are not disclosing some of the minifigures which are coming in the sets for obvious spoiler reasons, but I see no reason why they couldn't include a character we all know will be in the movie. Am I missing something here? Has someone seen our one-eyed friend in a set and I have just been unobservant? Quote

Well then it must be difficult shopping in stores or in a catalog since you see all those sets without having them in hand. :P -Omi Quote
prateek Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 (edited) Looking good. My favourite so far is Wolverine's Chopper thingy. Why didn't the Captain America set have the other figures and whatever else it's supposed to have? Edited February 12, 2012 by prateek Quote
Masked Builder Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Wow, well now I don't have to get a custom head! Maybe I will anyways with the prices of that iron man.... Quote

That's how I ended up with three Friend sets last week. Edited February 12, 2012 by djmangunz Quote
Ceroknight Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I cannot believe, they put the effort of making an Iron Man head and only make 125 of it instead of that gigantic helmet! The head looks so much better! The sets look alright, I'll judge them more when everything is completed... Quote
ScaryScarecrow Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I really like all of these sets even though they aren't final. Did anyone else spot Man-bat? ...Man-Bat? Quote
