Clone gunner comander jedi Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 What is that from? Its from 8160 Cruncher Block & Racer X and its Cruncher's Driver. Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 (edited) What is that from? Dare I say....Speed Racer. (edit - beaten to it ) I'm starting to feel sorry for the new Ironman minifig, I like it and so will the intended end-user....a child. If you think Ironman's helmet is too big, just look at the Sith Trooper helmets from the same toy fair. Edited February 15, 2012 by lightningtiger Quote

Not sure which set I'll get with him in though, probably the Quinjet as it looks quite substantial, unique and has a good number of the avengers in it. The Loki pickup/jeep set is just too similar too the Raptor chase/Two face chase jeep/pick ups I have already bought this year. Jays Storm fighter is a better looking plane than the one with the helicarrier and I'll pick up Captain America cycle as its the only set I can get him in, damn the dodgy Cycle mold though. Quote
deskp Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 (edited) People complaining shoulg keep in mind that the one shown at fairs are very unfiunished. If youre gonna complain, atleast know it'll look like this. Edited February 15, 2012 by deskp Quote
DJ Bricks Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I think Fury will come in Quinjet set! It's the only set he can come in now!!! Quote

def Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Marvel hasn't actually told the fans who the aliens are yet. They want them to guess. So we're not allowed to see them yet until they are officially announced. You can see examples of the aliens here: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/53500 They were revealed at Toy Fair through different toys. That link is a movie spoiler though, because they look like Skrulls, even though it was said they weren't in the movie. Quote

It would be an awful lot of hassle to go through to make up a fake like the article suggests/hints. Showing my ignorance I take it this alien race are big protagonists in the Avengers comic canon Quote
Clone OPatra Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I read that Marvel and Disney don't actually have rights to use the name 'Skrulls,' so the alien race will be basically the same but with a different name. That might've been some false information, though. Quote

That might've been some false information, though. It'd be kinda stupid if true. Who would have the rights if not Marvel? Quote
deskp Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 It'd be kinda stupid if true. Who would have the rights if not Marvel? Marvel owns the rights, but they might have licensed it as part of a contract with Sony, Fox or whoever else. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Marvel owns the rights, but they might have licensed it as part of a contract with Sony, Fox or whoever else. That would mean that they either were supposed to be in a non-Marvel Studios movie or they are going to be in one. Still doesn't make much sense. The Skrall are one of the perfect villains for a Marvel Studios film since it's an enemy that a lot of heroes have faced or interacted with. You'd have thought that keeping the rights on them would've been a priority. Quote
def Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Marvel originally licensed character 'universes' to studios, so I could see the Skrulls being part of the Fantstic Four universe licensed to Fox. The Skrulls were both Avengers and Fantastic Four badguys, but I think the Super Skrull was proposed as a FF villain at some point. It's also why Scarlet Witch won't be in the movies, she's licensed as a mutant, with the X-Men. In the Ultimates comics, the aliens were the Skrulls, but they mainly used a different name, the Ch'tari or something. So Marvel studios could get away with using that instead. Quote
Masked Builder Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 this isn't much explanations but: *snip* You can make out the head of the alien thing in front there, Yeah I can kind of see it. I guess that does make sense, hopefully we'll get better pictures later. Whoa, just looked up those Skrulls, they are cool! Quote
MinionOfCthulhu Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 And even though I wouldn't say Iron Man is a great figure (probably mediocre) he's still far from some of the worst minifigures LEGO has made. (Personally, my vote for LEGO's worst figure would go to this "lovely" lady.) On the other hand, the lady is just some random driver character rather than one of the centerpiece figures for the set, so... I'm not even sure why I dislike the way Iron Man looks. His helmet is big and goofy, but so is the helmets for all the Star Wars figures. But I look at a Stormtrooper or Boba Fett and am okay with how they look, but then look at Iron Man and recoil in horror. At the very least I wish they'd pack in that head from the Toyfair Iron Man. Oh well. Really, who cares about Iron Man or Wolverine or anyone else because we're getting a Deadpool minifigure and that's all that matters. Quote
jonwil Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I say the worst Minifig of all time has to be the Mars Mission alien http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=mm001 Also, can anyone tell me what color the vehicle in the Loki set is supposed to be? I cant tell from the pictures if its supposed to be normal blue, dark blue or something else. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I am pretty sure that the vehicle is dark blue. LEGO seems to be going with a darker palette for these sets. Quote

That might've been some false information, though. Yeah i heard the 'Skrulls' were under a different name. I wont post it as it may be considered spoilers. But whatever. Quote
LMB10 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 The only Skrull Fox own is the Super Skrull. Marvel owns the Skrull race in general, and wouldn't have to change anything about them to use them. Quote

That link is a movie spoiler though, because they look like Skrulls, even though it was said they weren't in the movie. Thanks for that information. I do remember now hearing something about the Skrulls, I think the movie company making the film wanted to change the name of the alien race, for some reason. Quote
andhe Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I think the general concensus is that the baddies are the skrulls, or a version of them. Whether they resemble anything to the comics remains to be seen. We all know characters go through revisions when appearing in movies (costumes, height, gender, race etc). Has anyone mentioned what the 'Play builder' mentioned on the boxes is? I'm guessing maybe a combination of comic strip and intruction booklet (for those old enough to remember fabuland booklets)?? Quote
deskp Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Even one on a motorcycle! question: is that motorcycle mold in the cap set under the shield thingy? Quote
Clone OPatra Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Why is Loki in so many sets? I know he's the main villain in the film, but it still feels excessive. If LEGO at least gives us different versions with different faces, that would make it better. They did that for Doc Ock back in the Spider-Man 2 sets since he was in every one. Still, I feel like they could have varied it up a bit more. The main heroes seem to appear in a whole bunch of sets as well. I haven't broken it down, but I'd rather see some SHIELD agents (and hopefully Nick Fury will actually be in one of these). Quote
______ Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I'm surprised that Loki's in the smallest set as well, would of been better with two Skrulls instead Quote
Clone OPatra Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I'm surprised that Loki's in the smallest set as well, would of been better with two Skrulls instead He's not. Going by this picture, it is just two Skrulls (or unknown alien species): The Skrull with Loki is in the Quinjet. Quote
