Ceroknight Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Such detail! From the zipper on CA's suit to the mask on the back of Wolverine! Lovely figures! Quote
Vindice Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Just got my Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape, and now I have a question for you all... How wrong would it be to swap the arms & legs on my Red Robin? I have plenty of green from my Forestmen harvest during Bricktober, and could easily swap out Robin's red arms to give him the more iconic look. But then the figure is no longer as it was out of the box. If I had a second Robin, say from the Batcave, then I'd have already done it... but both in terms of collecting and sheer principle, do I have to keep this guy as is? I have a very simple solution for you that requires great sacrifice on your part...............buy the Batcave too! Quote

surrideo Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 The peeled down mask on the back of the Wolverine figure is indeed a great touch. Touch of nostalgia creeping in but I'd prefer Captain America to be a lighter shade of blue closer to the American flag, but I accept this is the Avenger film version and not a comic rendition. I think we will see Green lantern in sets and I assume it will be Hal Jordan as thats what they used for the film and he is still around in the New 52. The character has had so many aliases and different Lanterns. I grew up reading a lot with Guy Gardner in the Justice League so thats who I always think of first. As for the Batcave, I have it but I would wait for it to come down in price. It looks empty without the Btamobile being in it and the villains are arguably not as iconic as they could have been. Penguin come back all is forgiven............. Quote

Then three of the four (excluding Spoiler/Steph Brown) Robins will be in mini fig format. All we need is a Red Hood now! Dick Grayson - Nightwing Tim Drake - Red Robin Damien Wayne - Robin Quote

stayunspoiled Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Devils advocate: Carrie Kelly, Jason Todd? No probs, right back atcha... Jason Todd is Red Hood (he died as Robin also) Carrie Kelly isn't cannon - only in The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller Time line... Dick as Robin Dick becomes Nightwing Jason becomes Robin II Jason is beaten to death by Joker Tim becomes Robin III (in here Spoiler/Steph Brown takes over for Tim as Robin IV for a short term but also dies) Damien comes onto the scene Jason comes back as Red Hood Tim becomes Red Robin Damien becomes Robin V - Now to confuse every one more - Batman is shot backwards through time, presumed dead Dick becomes Batman Bruce comes back as Batman again Dick remains as Batman - FLASHPOINT/NEW 52 - Bruce is Batman Dick is Nightwing Jason is Red Hood Tim is Red Robin Damien is Robin Steph is MIA Quote
surrideo Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Fair play Where is Jean Paul Valley in all of this? Lego Azrael is what I need Lego....can you hear me? Be interesting to see all the different Robin costume designs done in lego with official parts. However I can see young Damian going the same way as Jason, maybe just my opinion. Writing comics must be like being on a long term soap, just make it up and hope not too many people notice. I hope they bring back Dick Grayson Robin next year, he would have been better suited to the funhouse set. Quote

If you really want to make green arm Robin, I would recommend buying one off eBay or Bricklink, whichever is your preference. That way, you can have both Robins and not compromise your sets. Quote
Piranha Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Those are some great minifigs and TLG did a great job. I must have missed it but a few pages back it was confirmed that the Spiderman vs Doc Ock set would be $70 (?). That would be a pretty large set it sounds like? Also as of right now only one TDKR set is known so there could only be one or possibly more? I am hoping for the Bat-Tumbler with the Bat-Pod. Finally is Robin/Nightwing or some type of "Robin" character going to appear in TDKR? Quote

Man that Clayface is cool I also love the reference to death of a thousand smiles, with Robin over the barrel. http://dcanimated.wikia.com/wiki/Mad_Love Finally is Robin/Nightwing or some type of "Robin" character going to appear in TDKR? Robin has been rumoured but not confirmed, there have been some hints but nothing official. Quote

Some of the best theme figure wise in a long time. 2) Either it will be a nice big set or some sort of complete rip off Quote

Catwoman Set $25 AUD Superman Set $39 AUD Quote

Catwoman Set $25 AUD Superman Set $39 AUD Yep, that's ridiculous. It's because your LEGO comes from Europe right? Anyway, that price is from Mr Toy's Toyworld (or something like that) and they charge above (the already inflated) price, right? EDIT: Found the website. EDIT 2: Everything looks overpriced. $25 for Captain America's Avenging Cycle and $69.99 for the Samurai Mech. Edited February 24, 2012 by Superficial Username Quote
AngryChair Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Totally forgot about Azrael. Would be a nice figure. A ClayFace would be great. Do you think it would be the same size as Hulk..? Quote
surrideo Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 All which suggests that the Spiderman set will fit into the same price point as the funhouse at £40/$40. This is the set that holds most interest with me in this line, probably because I know the least about it and I read a lot of Spiderman before I read Batman. Assuming like for like with the DC sets I hope Lego sticks to form and includes a random villain with Doc Ock in the set and maybe hangs Mary Jane over a Barrel/open manhole rather than have random civilians and henchman. Thats my hope anyway. Quote

I honestly am just excited to get a Doc-Oc, as I was in my Dark Ages for the first set with him. Quote
BigHobbit Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 I, too, am really looking forward to this mysterious Spider-man set. Spider-man has always been my favorite superhero, and I'd love a set with several minifigs (maybe including Mary Jane and multiple villains as others have said). The only set I got from DC was the Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape (love the set), and something with a similar cost, number of pieces, and number of minifigs would be fantastic. Quote

SoupOrFishOil Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 (edited) Now I really want to see finalized figs. I'll probably have to wait for some figures to be stolen from the factory before I can get a closer look at Black Widow. Wonder where Fury is. The Spider-man set maybe? We did suspect Harley Quinn had been replaced in favor of Joker's henchman until pictures of the funhouse came out. Edited February 24, 2012 by Superficial Username Quote
