Mr_Malfoy Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I know this subject has been beaten to death and buried six feet under, but maybe Nick Fury will be in a future wave? Quote
Oky Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 That's unlikely as the next wave will probably be DC again, and he would be the only character we would know of from that wave, plus I doubt that they would have been confident enough that he would be in wave 3 or 4 to announce it in a press release back before the theme was even out. DJ Bricks Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I think the Spidey set should at least include doc Ock's fusion machine!!! Quote

SoupOrFishOil Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I think the Spidey set should at least include doc Ock's fusion machine!!! Maybe. I'm expecting something like his hideout set from the Spider-man theme (just different enough so that it can't be traced to being based on the movie too easily). *hoping the next wave brings Nightwing minifig* NIGHTWING NIGHTWING NIGHTWING!!! Cue 60's Batman theme parody. Quote

DJ Bricks Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 All the Avengers have their movie appearance, but Black Widow doesn't have the red hourglass belt! Why???!!! Quote
David Thomsen Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 All the Avengers have their movie appearance, but Black Widow doesn't have the red hourglass belt! Why???!!! This is why I think this topic should be divided into 'Superheroes from a Lego enthusiast perspective' and 'Superheroes from a Comic Book enthusiast perspective'. Because I am sure there are other Lego enthusiasts besides myself who do not care much about red hourglass belts, or the exact shade of Black Widow's hair, but who still want to keep up with Lego Superhero news. stayunspoiled Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Doc Ock and the sinister six are being featured in the next big spiderman event in the comics. For those who don't know the sinister six includes Doc Ock, Mysterio, Electro, Sandman, Chameleon, and rhino (current line up). This is going to be pretty big. Off the top of my head it's called ends of the earth. Also spidey is currently on the following teams in the regular comics: Avengers, New Avengers and Fantastic Four/Future Foundation In the ultimate comics Peter Parker is dead and has been replaced by a kid named Miles Morales. It is also a completely different costume and power set. ie. no webs I would almost put money down that ultimate Fury (jackson) will be in the Spidey set based on regular universe spidey. . But I would love a Sinister Six set. Drools for a Mysterio and or Electro! Quote
______ Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I would LOVE for LEGO to vreate a Mysterio minifigure, he was my favourite Spiderman villain. I wonder if there'll be many Spiderman sets over the course of the contract? Quote

You should try the LotR thread, that can be scary at times........... Interesting that both waves that will be released this year don't have a £100/$100 "Flagship" set. I wonder if that is down to the short 3 month difference in release of the waves or if the bigger sets will be released next year. Could also be down to the number of sets released(12 in the one theme) How did Lego Batman start out in terms of set size? Quote

Ninjago has (and had last year) more than 12 sets, but it has (and had) flagship sets. Quote

Preach it! I honestly don't care about the miniscule details, but at the same time I could see it being a bit like 'this was my childhood favorite comic and expect itto be this and that'. To each their own, I suppose. Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 You should try the LotR thread, that can be scary at times........... Tell me about it. I just skimmed through the latest page last night and this thread is normally pretty mild compared to that. Interesting that both waves that will be released this year don't have a £100/$100 "Flagship" set. I wonder if that is down to the short 3 month difference in release of the waves or if the bigger sets will be released next year. Could also be down to the number of sets released (12 in the one theme) How did Lego Batman start out in terms of set size? The first year had seven sets, including a UCS model of the Batmobile and the TRU exclusive Arkham Asylum. For the most part, the price ranges for the minifigure sets weren't that different from now except there was no $40 set and a $30 one instead of a $35 one. Arkham was $80 and the Batcave $90. So, in the first year the wave was bigger than DC, but smaller than DC and Marvel together. The next year only brought two mid-sized sets ($30 and $50). 2008 had four sets for $10, $20, $30 and $50. I don't think that with both DC and Marvel this will be of much help in predicting how long the line will last. Quote
FBTBTim Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Looking at the initial wave (Batman), we had one non-Bats set. The Marvel wave is the same (all Avengers save for the Wolverine set). So I think it stands to reason that Fury will be in the exclusive set that we haven't seen for this line. With it projecting as one of the big films this year I guarantee that some retailer wanted their own exclusive set. I will be very surprised if a classic Spidey set would include the not-classic version of Fury. Outside of what is being done now, the two traditionally have nothing to do with one another. Quote
Mesonak Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Well, while that is a valid thread of logic, all signs point to the retailer exclusive not being from the Avengers. And logic would dictate that, if it is going to be a Spider Man set, it would likely be promoting something Spider Man related that will be coming out soon. As has been touched upon before, that "something" will likely be the upcoming Ultimate Spider-Man animated TV series, which, coincidentally, involves Nick Fury. As such, it wouldn't have to be "classic". Far from it, actually. Quote

surrideo Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 For those who are interested : Lego Batman: The Visual Dictionary Thankyou, confirms the exclusive minifig, kinda hoping its not Batman as his cape would be kinda crushed in the plastic mold that holds the figure in these books. I recognise the UCS Batmobile and the brick built penguins as coming fom the old sets and the new style Batman and Joker but where does the glider come from? Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 ...but where does the glider come from? It was in the Arkham Asylum set. Quote

surrideo Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 How glad am I now of the glider/jetpack that comes with the Catwoman set. That thing looks like it would plummet worse than the Ninjago scimitar glider polybag from last year Thankyou for the clearer image. I hope they remake Arkham but with more pieces and perhaps the joker in a straight jacket. Quote
