DJ Bricks Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 I'm just terrified he'll be a comiccon exclusive or something evil like that I'm pretty sure he'll be in the Spidey set and be Jackson's comic Fury!! You guys remember when we thought Riddler and Harley weren't in a set when they were clearly promised in the press release, just like Fury, Spidey, and Doc Ock! I think the same happened to them! TenorPenny Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 I think the brown highlights and the cheekbones make Black Widow look both ugly and old. Bit of a shame. Quote
deskp Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Nothing seems right with the Black widow minifig. This isn't being treated as a proper movie license cause its also part of the super heroes it seems. Quote
Lyichir Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Nothing seems right with the Black widow minifig. This isn't being treated as a proper movie license cause its also part of the super heroes it seems. That's a bit harsh. LEGO has made bum moves with many of their other licenses, including LEGO Star Wars (example: LEGO's constant failure to provide a good rendition of Episode I Obi Wan). Just because one of the figs looks wrong doesn't mean the line isn't getting the proper care it deserves, especially considering how accurate the vehicles and other figs in the line look. Quote
jonwil Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 It may well be that the Black Widow fig was finalized and locked in place before the final look of the movie character was decided. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 It may well be that the Black Widow fig was finalized and locked in place before the final look of the movie character was decided. Except she was already in a previous film, so they had that source material to go by. I'm really not enthralled with any of these sets. The Quinjet is a nice design, but the Alien craft all look like Life on Mars rehashes. I guess I have nothing wrong with most of the models, but they just don't seem very exciting, perhaps due to the fact that the film is not a 'vehicles' film but instead a 'characters' film. Black Widow is a terrible-looking minifigure, but she's not the only one that disappoints me. The aliens all look atrocious. I know they're supposed to, but that just doesn't turn out well. It's mostly their color scheme that looks awful; light grey and gold and purple do not go together at all (and I honestly don't believe they look like that in the film). Loki is another huge disappointment; he was one of the few redeeming qualities in Thor and I like his character, but LEGO has gone and give him a very stock, boring face. Being in so many sets, too, couldn't they give him some different expressions? That's a failure. Finally, Captain America's face doesn't look great either. It shows no sort of expression at all. I don't know what I was hoping for exactly, but I know this isn't it. At least we get that Wolverine set. That one's awesome. Quote
surrideo Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 (edited) This is pure conspiracy theorising but what if Lego has left out a feature on the "Alien Foot soldiers" like a head/hairpiece or headdress, so as to make them unidentifiable to comic book aficionados. It's just I see the Avengers action figures beginning to get released and so far it is only the heroes available and the Quinjet playsets, no alien foot soldier figs, no Loki either to be fair. They look a litle unfinished to me.... Edited March 9, 2012 by surrideo Quote

______ Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Where is a pic of the chairs in the jet? Would like to see them. Thanks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAFm0LVYxRI Not the best video ever, but you see some nice features. I am sure there's more videos out there you can find though. Quote
Oky Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Thanks for the hi-res pics! The wait is getting more unbearable with every new pic I see! But why am I not surprised that there are still no Spidey pics? If it weren't for the initial press release, I'd seriously doubt the existence of that set by now. Quote
Aanchir Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 I really can't say I like Loki's helmet. I just don't like it! I know it's accurate but there's just SOMETHING about it that I can't like. It seems a bit too...rubbery. There are some pieces that I can handle in rubber, but that's not one of them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed they make it in ABS plastic and that it looks better in real life than it does in the pictures. What makes you assume it's rubbery? It looks like a different texture in the prototype pics because it is a rapid-prototyped piece much like Iron Man's helmet, and there's no reason to assume it will be like that in the final set. Rapid-prototyped pieces commonly have appeared at ToyFair in place of finalized BIONICLE pieces that turned out to be either ABS or a smooth softer plastic that could hardly be told from ABS without feeling it. High-res pics are cool. Quote

Clone gunner comander jedi Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Good pictures of one of the iron man minifigures: Quote
Lyichir Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Good pictures of one of the iron man minifigures: He looks a lot better now, although I still think he could have done with some sort of body armor piece to offset the size of the head. I know it's not much bigger than Batman's cowl, but frankly Batman's cowl works largely because the cape makes the rest of the fig appear slightly bigger. But Iron Man's still cool the way he is, and that's what matters. Quote
Solscud007 Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 (edited) I like it but I would have preferred the helmet to pivot like a visor. Then the act is more similar to the movie. Well we can hope third party people like area light or brick arms can make armor for him. Who made the ADU armor? Edited March 10, 2012 by Solscud007 Quote

SoupOrFishOil Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Iron Man looks pretty good now, but I know that I probably won't get him. Did anyone see that Batman sticker book? I noticed that Riddler had a Joker-esque BANG gun except the flag was green and had a question mark on it. I just thought that was strange. Quote
CF Mitch Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Thanks for the Iron Man close-up pictures! He looks terrific, really. But I hope that his head will be double-printed. I'd hate my Tony Stark to walk around, looking like that all day Regards, Mitch Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Being a huge X-Men fan, I'm looking forward to getting Wolverine's Chopper Showdown. Love the Marvel Universe but never really got into the Avengers for some reason. I've enjoyed the movies in recent years but strictly on the viewing level. Quote
Brickity Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Hm I think the exclusive figure included in the visual Dictionary will be Nick Fury Quote
surrideo Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Hm I think the exclusive figure included in the visual Dictionary will be Nick Fury In the Lego Batman Visual Dictionary? I think that will be solely for Batman sets plus the Superman/Power Armour Lex set. The set will at the very least be a DC character and more likely than not Batman or one of his enemies. Marvel universe will likely get it's own book in a couple of years providing the theme continues Looks like someone got Deadpool... -Sci Got to love the employee security in the mexican factory Quote
