Brickity Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 In the Lego Batman Visual Dictionary? I think that will be solely for Batman sets plus the Superman/Power Armour Lex set. The set will at the very least be a DC character and more likely than not Batman or one of his enemies. Marvel universe will likely get it's own book in a couple of years providing the theme continues Oh Wow I fail Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Joker might be an easier exclusive figure to include with the book, considering Batman's cape (which would get crumpled) and a Batman that would look exclusive (a rainbow one ). I remembered a "tropical" Joker from the LEGO video game, and I wonder if it's something like that. (According to Brickipedia, it's based on a scene from The Killing Joke.) I'd prefer a rainbow Batman, but I think this is plausible. It seems like something that would remain exclusive and look special and wouldn't really require any recolored pieces (they'd probably just use Brick Daddy's Fedora). Quote
CM4Sci Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I don't know if anyone else noticed it, but the alien things have printing on the back of their heads! -Sci Quote

I'd like something like this as it's the sort of figure that may not necessarily make a set, like the celebration Luke & Hans. Dark Knight Batman, Mime Joker(Batman 1989), white tuxedo penguin? I keep thinking about Green Lantern though as the press release/book description talks about him, Wonder Woman & Superman. Hopefully not a reference to the ultrabuild Quote
sok117 Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I just had a thought, if TLC releases a visual dictionary for Marvel superheroes, then there could be a chance of getting Nick Fury with that Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I'm not very hopeful about it but if the mystery fig does turn out to be Green Lantern, I would be all over that book. I could always donate the book to our local library after getting the fig. Quote
Vindice Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I think a Marvel visual dictionaru is out of a question until it has at least 3-4 waves under its belt coupled with the original Spiderman stuff. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I don't know if anyone else noticed it, but the alien things have printing on the back of their heads! -Sci I noticed that too!probably the back of their helmets or their hair! Quote

Dark Knight Batman, Mime Joker(Batman 1989), white tuxedo penguin? Mime Joker maybe. TDK/TDKR Batman could just be used as a suit in a set that has little (if anything) to do with the Nolan movies, like the whole 2008 Batman wave. Penguin is a pretty iconic villain too, but I don't think just giving him a white tuxedo would be something we wouldn't get. Afterall, the old Penguin was pretty detailed and he probably wouldn't be changed much (like Catwoman), so they may give him a white tuxedo when he shows up in sets anyway to make him stand out from the old one. I just had a thought, if TLC releases a visual dictionary for Marvel superheroes, then there could be a chance of getting Nick Fury with that I don't think that Fury would be iconic enough. That might be a chance to get a black Spider-man or a printed head Iron man though. I think a Marvel visual dictionaru is out of a question until it has at least 3-4 waves under its belt coupled with the original Spiderman stuff. I don't know about that, but I think that one will come along eventually. Probably not for a year or two though. Quote
Piranha Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Thanks for those nice pictures of Iron Man. Awesome minifig. I am curious if he has an alternate face and back printing though. Quote
purpleparadox Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Thanks for those nice pictures of Iron Man. Awesome minifig. I am curious if he has an alternate face and back printing though. He'd better have alternate face printing! Otherwise I'm using a Jack Sparrow face for Tony Stark, because I'm not happy with just an angry face! Quote
DJ Bricks Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Thanks for those nice pictures of Iron Man. Awesome minifig. I am curious if he has an alternate face and back printing though. He does have both! But the legs in that picture are wrong, they are from the Mark 7! Quote
Vindicare Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 I noticed that too!probably the back of their helmets or their hair! He does have both! But the legs in that picture are wrong, they are from the Mark 7! You're really excited for these aren't you?! Exclamation points for everyone! That finalized Ironman is pretty great looking. I figured as much, but I was keeping my fingers crossed about him. Now, LEGO, how about that Spidey set? Quote

And the TDKR set. I can't wait to see pics of those two. Quote
JackJonespaw Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Oh good. And the TDKR set. I can't wait to see pics of those two. Oh yes, me neither. Unfortunately, we can't expect new prints for the villains, as they have just been released. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 And the TDKR set. I can't wait to see pics of those two. Hold on, has there been real confirmation for a single TDKR set? I know there has been speculation that there will be some TDKR sets, but you make it sound like there is definitely one. Is that the case? Quote

We're just going of what Lego said about summer sets to coincide with TDKR. Quote
purpleparadox Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 (edited) No, as far as I know, no. We're just going of what Lego said about summer sets to coincide with TDKR. TDKR sets? That'd be pretty cool. It'd make for some awesome Nolan-esque minifigs! It might be a cheap way to get Bane, who knows? I'd be happy with TDKR sets as long as it doesn't ruin our chances of getting a new Nightwing fig! Edited March 11, 2012 by purpleparadox Quote
Vindicare Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Oh good. And the TDKR set. I can't wait to see pics of those two. Hmm...add that to the list then(if it's true). Reading the other responses, it sounds like speculation. It'd be an instant buy if it had Ledgers Joker in it. Quote
phanstasm Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 (edited) Unfortunately, we can't expect new prints for the villains, as they have just been released. Is that guess based on the Joker having the same print in the original Tumbler movie set (7888) as the helicopter set (7782)? That's a good point. I'm holding out that we will get new prints for the Bane and or Catwoman for TDKR set or sets. They did give Barbossa two different prints for the first wave POTC set (Isla de la Muerta - 4181) and the second wave set (Fountain of Youth - 4192). Like Barbossa's different outfits, Bane and Catwoman have very different masks in TDKR movie than their existing DC Super Heroes counterparts. If not a new torso print, I bet Lego will at least fit new face prints into their budget. Edited March 11, 2012 by phanstasm Quote
Mr_Malfoy Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Actually, we would've known about any TDKR sets by now. After all, wouldn't the sets be on display at Toy Fair? Quote

Professor Flitwick Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 (edited) I would hope they'd do more than one set from the Nolan series. I'd love to see his version of Scarecrow in Lego form. I don't know, wouldn't the Spiderman set be at Toy Fair? But didn't we know we were getting Spiderman and Doc Ock from the press release? I don't recall them mentioning any TDKR variants. GuntherThePenguin Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 I don't know, wouldn't the Spiderman set be at Toy Fair? No, not neccessarily because alot of us have already come to the conclusion that the Spidey set will be an exclusive of some sort, so we will probably not see pics until a few weeks before its release. And IMO, I never heard anywhere that we were OFFICIALLY getting a TDKR set..... Quote
surrideo Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 For those in the UK, Forbidden Planet have the new Marvel sets for preorder and an estimated release of 29th April. See here Some money off the RRP in some cases, £3 or so off the Quinjet. Not great and maybe delivery negates it, but price instore usually the same. Quote
