______ Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Hmm, there are a lot of exclusive Superheroes promos, aren't there? As far as I recall, there's Green Lantern (currently, anyway), the Iron Man variant, Bucky Barnes, Lex Luthor in armour and now minifig-sized Hulk? Personally, I think at least Lex Luthor and Hulk should probably appear in future sets, like Green Lantern probably is. It seems too much of a waste to just have them as exclusives. That's one problem I can fore-see with this theme. It's based solely on the mini-figures, and this could lead to there being lots of exclusives. This could potentially be unfair for those who want certain figures but have to shell out big money in order to get them. I remember that in the UK it's hard to get a shadow ARF trooper. (I believe in the US they keep getting recurring promotional offers of him though) Let's just hope that TLC doesn't make too many exclusives and brings out many great mini-figures in this theme. The green lantern minifig propably will stay exclusive seeing as it's the movie version. so far the TDKr batman fig is also exclusive. We'll see if they ever do release proper sets with it. But yes, exclusive minifigs are a pain. they should keep the exclusive a little while and then take preorders for 2. run of the figs and they wouldnt have to produce more than whats ordered.. I must say I'm still glad I bought the exclusive batman and green lantern. I'v very much looking forward to see what new characters wave 2 of dc and marvel will bring. hoping for: Aqua man, Nightcrawler and Gambit Quote
Tommy Day Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 The Spidey set come out on April 8th in the US! Maybe the other sets come out then too! Does anyone have Loki or Hawkeye? If so, can you tell me if they have back printing? Or Magneto? Didn't see anyone else confirm this, but I just checked my Magneto and yes, there's back-printing. Quote
Masked Builder Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Sets are available from Toysrus.com! Already marked up though. Sets are available on Target.com! It looks like they're coming out on Easter! -Sci I keep saying this. Quote
GuntherThePenguin Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 I am homestly kinda angry these sets don't come out until the DAY of Easter. Thanks Lego, now instead of children waking up to see that the 'Easter Bunny' has brought them Avenger sets for Easter, there will be a note saying 'let's go to Target!' or 'don't worry, they will get here in the mail soon enough!' instead. Sorry, it's just that it couldn't be just 1 day earlier??? Quote
CM4Sci Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Yes, Target has them listed for pre-order in the USA now. It says they will be available on the 8th, which is Easter in America. In fact, the $13 Captain America motorcycle set is listed as being in stock at the store right now. I will go and have a look-see tomorrow... Otherwise only 6 days!! =) I searched about 13 Zip-codes and every one of them had them in stock..Hmm.. -Sci Quote
gedren_y Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 I know I'm not the first one to say this, but with TLG having both licenses, Amalgam sets should be on the table. Maybe as limited edition sets, possibly convention items. Which Marvel universe are we getting? It appears to be Marvel Adventures. I hope not, because I would like to see Dr. Voodoo, Dark Wolverine, Ronin and Iron Patriot. Quote

I hope not, because I would like to see Dr. Voodoo, Dark Wolverine, Ronin and Iron Patriot. We're apparently getting three: The filmverse (Avengers sets), some version of X-Men, and the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon verse. Unless those characters appear in major media (IE movies or TV), we probably won't see them. An Iron Patriot fig would be sick though. Quote
Oky Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Yes, the Helicarrier and Cap sets are listed as in stock in store for me too, but I just checked my local Targets and they didn't have anything. I didn't bother to ask them to check in the back since I figured it must be a mistake. Quote
GuntherThePenguin Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 I was wondering if anyone knew if these are out officially in stores in the US anywhere?? I have read 'CorneliusMerdock's' reviews of the sets, and he is in the US. Where did he find them???? I am dying for the Marvel sets! Quote

Some people were lucky enough to order them in stock from walmart.com. My Wal-mart ones arrived at my house on Saturday (although they are put away for my birthday). Quote
moop Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 My Target showed in Stock but they weren;t even in their system with the DPCI when I went to get them. Quote

We're getting them nice and early, they could've made us wait for the summer. Quote

I didn't bother to ask them to check in the back since I figured it must be a mistake. Nope, not a mistake. I found them in stock at my local Target. Called them up and gave them the online number of the set. They told me they had the Helicarrier set in-stock, just in the back, and assured me they could sell it to me. Even held one for me at the desk. Drove out there all excited and when I got there the guy was all sheepish and told me his boss saw the set out on the table and told him they weren't allowed to sell them until the 8th. I was a bit miffed and quite disappointed but it wasn't worth making a fuss over. The down side is that Target stores will be closed on the 8th, so I am hoping that they might cave and put them out on the 7th. Either that or Wal Mart might have them out on the weekend. What a bummer. Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 (edited) Has any one else noticed that the Wolvirene chopper set is simaler to that one scene in X-men Origans:Wolvirene? Instead of Magneto it would be a chopper pilot and moive version Deadpool, and the helicopter would be grey. Just noticed a simalerty. Edited April 2, 2012 by Im a brickmaster. Quote

Algernon Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I saw the Captain America set in-stock at Target online and almost drove out to go check, but after reading some posts on here I think I'll just wait until the 8th. It definitely seems like LEGO is looking to officially release these sets next week, and is just shipping out the sets to retailers for Monday's launch. Oh well, I can wait a little longer. Quote
halomaster96 Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I'm definitely going to get that now especially with that long of a promotion! Now I would like to see the back for more details. Quote
Holmes Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Is it me or does the exclusive Hulk looks so much better than the one in the sets? Quote
surrideo Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Is it me or does the exclusive Hulk looks so much better than the one in the sets? It negates buying the helicarrier for me as I have a Hawkeye and Loki and may pick up the Quinjet if it goes cheap. The one in the helicarrier makes sense but Hulk in a minifigure is excellent Quote
Vindice Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 (edited) Is it me or does the exclusive Hulk looks so much better than the one in the sets? Interesting point mate! TLG seems to be adopting this new large mold for many oversize figures. A lot of people though really like the minifigure as it's iconic. Personally I like the new scale as it makes it look a bit more effective but where does it end? What size will the following figs be if they get released? Juggernaut Rhino Apocalypse Thing Colossus Killer Croc Clayface Edited April 3, 2012 by Vindice Quote

Juggernaut Rhino Apocalypse Thing Colossus Killer Croc Clayface Interesting, I can quite easily see these figures being adapted to the new oversized figure. Let's just hope they don't use Vinny Jones face for Juggernaut though.! Killer Croc, Clayface and Apocalypse though should definitely be done this size. Quote
surrideo Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 The oversized figures must be a bit of a bane for Lego because they have to be careful they retain a lego feel and don't become action figures. I can't see them being too keen to make too many as you are getting away from your classic patent. I understand Wampas and Hulk but equally I see people saying they should have waist, leg articulation. They must be limited in their design otherwise they look like whatever every other action figure maker produces. I enjoy the Fantastic Four MOC that is around at the moment and feel that if they are produce Thing he should be minifig scale. Quote
