Sam892 Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Since megabloks still hold the rights to produce The Amazing spider-man sets, do you guys think they may also hold the rights to Iron Man 3 sets? They did after all produce Iron Man 2 sets. Quote

They did after all produce Iron Man 2 sets. I'm sure that's only because at the time they had the whole Marvel license, but now they can only do the sony ones (spiderman, x-men, etc.) So we will (hopefully) get lego Iron Man 3. If I'm wrong then . Quote
Sam892 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I'm sure that's only because at the time they had the whole Marvel license, but now they can only do the sony ones (spiderman, x-men, etc.) So we will (hopefully) get lego Iron Man 3. If I'm wrong then . I'm hoping the liecence for The Avengers includes all films from the Cinematic Universe like Thor and captain America. I took a look on the web and I couldn't find anything that said Megabloks still holds the liecence to Iron man. Still even if they did have it a couple of years back LEGO snatch POTC from them, can't we do the same again. Quote
tafkatb Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I hope all the MCU films are fair game, but I don't know how exactly how the licensing works out with the different distributors involved. I'm not even sure if it makes a difference. I do know that Disney is set to be the distro for the next round of sequels (Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Captain America 2), so we'll most likely see LEGO sets for those. Quote
Faefrost Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I got back from The Avengers a few hours ago. Where was Captain America's motorcycle in the movie? Also, I think that Fury should've replaced Iron Man in the Cosmic Cube Breakout set. And why is Hawkeye driving the plane and quinjet in the Lego sets? It's not so much an "in the movie" thing as Cap on a motorcycle is a more classic Captain America thing from the comics. It became particularly prominant in the 1970's during the brief Captain America TV series which used the bike and van as a major plot element. Ever since then Cap has often been pictured driving both. When Lego designed these sets they were working from pre production materials mostly. The movie had not been finished, nor in all likihood did anyone at Lego see it. So much of at least the first round of sets are probably of a more speculative nature, or are simply trying to keep with the traditions of the characters. (such as both Black Widow and Hawkeye are frequent Quinjet pilots in the various comic incarnations. It can be safely assumed that either can and may fly the plane regardless of who appears doing it in the movie, whereas Cap, Thor and Iron Man and most certainly Hulk would not be doing so for various character related reasons). Frankly I'm amazed at how dead on they got some stuff, such as the Quinjet and the Shield Truck. Quote
Cedric the Brick Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Anyone knows if there will be dark knight rises sets released in summer? Please answer. No pictures yet, but some people said there will be TDKR sets in May/summer while ago, but I am not sure. If anyone knows... Quote
Iron-Man Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 (edited) Anyone knows if there will be dark knight rises sets released in summer? Please answer. No pictures yet, but some people said there will be TDKR sets in May/summer while ago, but I am not sure. If anyone knows... Simply no. Nobody knows yet. It looks like there won't be, but at this point nobody knows. LEGO may surprise us with one or two but I doubt a whole wave is coming that nobody knows about. I hope I am wrong though since the movie could have some awesome builds! Edited May 9, 2012 by Iron-Man Quote
Takua Nui Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I never heard about those Lego Avengers posters; do they have them in the UK and Ireland? Does anyone know if we'll be getting sets for The Amazing Spider-Man? It looks awesome if you ask me. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Does anyone know if we'll be getting sets for The Amazing Spider-Man? It looks awesome if you ask me. We'll be getting a Spider-man set based on the current cartoon show. Megablocks has the license to the movie. Quote
YangHao6998 Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Maybe TDKR sets comes with the spiderman set Quote
the last chronicler Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Maybe TDKR sets comes with the spiderman set If you mean in the summer, it's plausible, but "together" is a loose term considering one is a DC theme and the other is Marvel. Considering we don't even know what the Spiderman set looks like it doesn't seem too unreasonable to not have seen any images of a Dark Knight Rises set. PS: Nice Avatar Quote

LMB10 Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Woah, that Lex looks really nice. Better than the one in the Superman set. Speaking of Superman, does anyone else want a line of sets for the Man of Steel film next year? Quote
willybob Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 That is a brilliant figure! Love the torso printing as well Love the torso too, specially because I did not expect it to be printed, I thought it would be plain black only. Quote

SoupOrFishOil Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I can't wait until my copy of LEGO Batman 2 arrives with that. And to think, I almost took advantage of the TRU discount to get the Bat-jetski instead. Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 (edited) Does anyone think the Helicarrier should have been more like a Star Wars flag ship set. P.S. A Chitary Ship (the Flying metal dragon in the trailer) would have been Cool with Thanos included. Edited May 11, 2012 by Dr.Cogg Quote
Iron-Man Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Might wanna spoiler that one out there. Not sure exactly but just to be sure I would. Quote
Dervish Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Seems like these are starting to arrive in Finland too. Visited the TRU at Ideapark near Tampere and there they were.. 6869 for 94,99 eur (S@H 99,95 eur) 6868 for 74,99 eur (S@H 79,95 eur) 6863 for 46,99 eur (S@H 49,95 eur) 6862 for 32,99 eur (S@H 34,95 eur) 6866 for 34,95 eur (S@H 36,95 eur) 6858 don't remember the price and my bad photo hasn't got it (S@H 17,95 eur) Didn't get any yet, because of the normal prices for lego in Finland. But real nice to see these starting to surface, as they are not included in the january-june lego catalog. And I think it was last week or so when they popped up in the Lego online store. Quote

A Chitary Ship (the Flying metal dragon in the trailer) would have been Cool with Thanos included. I think there's a lot of potential for other Helicarrier sets, since a lot of the film took place there, and if Super Heroes becomes as big as Star Wars like we're all hoping, a UCS Helicarrier seems very likely. We will probably have to wait until Avengers 2 before we see a Thanos fig though. Quote
Climperoonie Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 I'm very impressed with the Marvel Superheroes range on whole. It's very rare that I have the funds to collect entire waves, so the fact that the Marvel range has only released five sets for its first wave is actually quite beneficial to me, as I've been able to buy all the sets. My favourite is the Quinjet, which might actually be one of my favourite Lego sets overall in terms of the build and look. However, as much as I loved the Avengers film, I'm still looking most forward to that elusive Spider-Man set, as he's always been my favourite superhero! It's just a shame that Lego doesn't have the license for the Amazing Spider-Man really, I would've loved to have seen scenes from that recreated in Lego form... Quote
