dr jones Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Okay, leaving the Spiderman issue what it is (I have the old, better version anyway) Does anyone know if the DC or Marvel sets are already available in Belgium, 'cause I'm feeling really left out right now. :( Quote
sologuy369 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Maybe they leaked it on purpose so they could get our imput?! Quote
Aanchir Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Maybe they leaked it on purpose so they could get our imput?! At this point, the sets would likely already be manufactured, so I doubt getting our input before the release would do them much good. Quote
Captain Potato Salad Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 I found a blog that features some of the Spiderman box art! The blog is http://roblking21.blogspot.com/ This guy also did the other Marvel box art. You need to scroll down a bit and you'll see the Spiderman one. Quote
turtle1173 Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I think this is the new spiderman fig on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Marvel-Super-Heroes-2012-Spiderman-/251065251534?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a74a7b6ce#ht_500wt_949 Quote

The red looks like it matches the head and hands a lot more, and I think that was all it really needed. I look forward to the release of this set! Quote
Ceroknight Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Looking at the old Spiderman at brickset, the only big difference is the colour of the leg joint piece..can't believe how much of a difference it makes Quote
Oky Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 The blue hips are excusable since those are actually more accurate, but it's the blue torso that bugs me. Spidey having blue shoulders just seems wrong. And it's too bad that they couldn't spring for some leg printing for him. If they would have given him red boots he would look much better, and they could use those legs for Superman as well. Oh well. Quote
TRA1T0R Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Good pictures featuring the designs of Flash, Aquaman, Black Adam, Captain Cold and Shazam Quote
Darth Hagrid Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 New spiderman on sale here! I find it really amusing that I created one of the images they're using in their banner by screenshotting (is that the right word?) it off of classic LEGO.com a few months ago. I really like Captain Cold. Not sure about any of the others, although Nightwing is nice. (but he hasn't changed much, has he?) Quote
just2good Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 The final (?) Spiderman figure definitely looks nice than the leaked prototype. Also, I love the box design made by Rob King (?). Quote
deskp Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I hope we get the Flash and Aquaman lego minifigures, they look good/cool! I wonder if The flash's headpiece at some point was going to be used for captain america Quote
YangHao6998 Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I wish Cpt America has the same helmet piece as Flash, just different painting. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 You guys do realize that those DC superhero pictures are of the in-game characters and are no indication of us getting them as actual minifigures. Maybe we'll see the Flash eventually, but the others like Captain Cold seem pretty unlikely. Even if we do get the Flash, he might not end up looking like that. The video game designers have gotten really good at designing characters that look like they would be real figures. Quote
pong0814 Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 ^ Yup, I know. Basically when I said I WANT the Flash minifigure, what I meant was I HOPE TLG makes him so I can buy him. (Hopefully close enough in appearance to his video game counterpart). And Captain Cold would be the perfect villain for the Flash if he does come out in a set one day. Quote
purpleparadox Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I think characters like Flash and Aquaman are fairly likely, because they're some of the main heroes. Though I doubt we'll see those two until quite awhile later, considering Green Lantern hasn't been made yet. Captain Cold would probably please some people, but he won't get made for a long time (if ever) because many kids aren't familiar with him. They'd have to be selling him on almost nothing but his "coolness" (pardon the pun) factor. There's a lot of characters I'm sure that people would love to see, but not all of them will be made. It's a huge undertaking for TLG to do the DC and Marvel licenses, because the storylines and characters are practically endless. We'll just have to wait to see which ones they decide to produce in sets. Quote

It's a huge undertaking for TLG to do the DC and Marvel licenses, because the storylines and characters are practically endless. We'll just have to wait to see which ones they decide to produce in sets. I'm just hoping that this line would be as successful (or nearly successful) as the Star Wars line so we would get to see more obscure or less popular characters as minifigs down the road. The only thing that might prevent that IMO is that both DC and Marvel don't have the benefit of a huge amount of iconic vehicles that can be made into playsets unlike the SW line. Lots of possible "headquarters" sets maybe (already dreaming of the Hall of Justice and Hall of Doom), but that would just take care of the large playsets, and not the mid-sized ones. Quote

The video game designers have gotten really good at designing characters that look like they would be real figures. Right now they have made, in one form or another 4 of DC's "big 7". Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern have all been released. I think it is a safe bet we will see the other three so long as the license holds out. Plus the remaining 3, Flash, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter ( the original Justice League) are colorful and distinctive, while being easy to do as figs. They are making Deadpool and Iron Fist figs. They will make these three sooner instead of later. Quote
Solscud007 Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Not sure if this has been posted before. My friend took this at the Time Square Toys R Us in NYC. Quote
Faefrost Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Looking at the old Spiderman at brickset, the only big difference is the colour of the leg joint piece..can't believe how much of a difference it makes Actually there is one other huge difference with the old fig. On it the red is the base plastic color, with dark blue printed over it. That is what makes the huge difference. Although I agree that the belt/hips in red plastic looks much better. You can print blue over red very easily. But only if it is that darker blue. Red over bright blue is horrible to do. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I definitely like the newer images of Spiderman. I am not a huge fan of him, but I am excited for that set. I do think the older Spiderman is better looking, but mostly because of the red torso with blue over it instead of the reverse we have now. But both look awesome. That DC universe game looks sweet. Seeing some of those figures on screen would make anyone drool for the actual figures. I really only like Batman, but I can't wait to see those other figures when available. Quote
TheLegoJoker Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Definitely think Spidey should have had a red torso, but I'll be happy enough with the figure. To me, the first Spidey is the best overall but I like the new head better. Quote
Combee Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Wow, that Flash looks great! I really hope they release him as a minifig! Quote
