deskp Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 LINK Cyborg from LEGO batman 2,you can tell he isn't designed by lego people. he doesent look god IMO using gradients and too thin lines on the printing. that isn't what lego does these days. Quote
Piranha Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Thanks for the links to the new Spiderman fig. I am on the fence for now. I like the comic book style, but I still think he could have been done better with printed boots or arm printing. Flash (in the game) looks good. I could see that particular helmet being used for a WW2 Captain America fig as well. I would be more than happy to get Flash in minifigure form as pictured, but I would also be fine with a printed head like the Captain America fig we got. Providing, we get the lighting bolt emblem printed on the side of his head. Quote

However, if the Captain America promo had been a helmet version, I think that I would be after it. I'd just like both versions. Edited May 23, 2012 by johnnyvgoode Quote
Iron-Man Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Considering the new Spider-Man fig, I do think LEGO made the right decision with printing red on blue. Even though he should have red shoulders, I personally believe the old Spidey figs had too much red I'm sure people are going to dispute either way, I just think TLG made a solid decision with the red on blue this time around! According to this site the set will be 362 pieces for $39.99 (in the U.S.) which is a pretty good number to be at for a licensed set with 3 exclusive figs Quote

Captain America promo? The Flash helmet would be good for Cap. His newer suit in the movies seems to have the wings "painted?" on his helmet. His original comic suut and his "stage suit" from the Captain America movie has the wings. Come on TLC!! Quote

Vindice Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 I agree that the Flash is not an official minifig design. It is a TT design and I would expect the flash to have a printed head design like capt America. I wonder if TLG will ever do molded head designs to make them look a little more authentic. I'd happily have minifigs that you can't remove the mask from. Quote

Would make Batman etc more authentic, but would it lose the Lego 'cute' factor that makes them remain a child's toy..? Quote

I thought you meant there was a current promo happening right now. This(Marvel) is probably one of the smaller waves of the year.... which means I can afford it! Bilbo Baggins Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 I wouldn't like specially molded heads because that would stop making them reusable. Quote

purpleparadox Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 BAM! -Sci Thanks! Spidey looks better on the box... But I don't think I'll be buying this. We'll see, maybe I will if it's a good parts/pieces ratio. That thing in the corner with the fan on top, are it's panels white or blue? Quote
just2good Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 (edited) BAM! {pic} -Sci Thanks so much, Sci! I've been waiting to see pics of the set, just like everyone else! It looks decent. I just hope it's $40 (or less). Edited May 24, 2012 by just2good Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Oh, YES....that looks worth the wait....fingers crossed for an early exclusive mid-year toy sale line in Oz ! So is this based on the comic book or the new TV series.....my money on the TV series ! It appears most of our Marvel minifig characters will appear in it ! Quote
Iron-Man Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Awesome! Super excited for this set! I am glad it's the lab and not the amusement park people were speculating on Thanks for the pic! Now all we need is a release date. My guess would be no more than a month considering it wasn't long after the Funhouse pictures popped up that we started seeing that around Quote
sologuy369 Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 (edited) BAM! [snip] -Sci The spidy looks much better on the box. Doc Oc looks like a cool mini figure, especially with his tentacles. I should be $40, but will probably be around $50 . Looks real but were did you find this picture? What is the guy in the middle of the lineup with the green body and yellow head? Somebody should update the first post . Edited May 24, 2012 by sologuy369 Quote

Somebody should update the first post . He is Iron Fist. Another lesser known super hero but is in the new TV show that this set is based off of! Also in the show there are a lot of other Marvel character's that we could potentially see! They have Nick Fury, Dr. Doom, Luke Cage, and most of the Avengers have been present at one time or another Edited May 24, 2012 by Iron-Man Quote
the fixer Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 (edited) He is Iron Fist. Another lesser known super hero but is in the new TV show that this set is based off of! Correctamundo, Iron Man. ;) At one point, many a year ago, there were even plans to do a live action adaptation of Iron Fist starring Ray Park (Darth Maul in 'The Phantom Menace', Toad in 'X-Men' and Snake Eyes in 'G.I. Joe') in the title role. I wonder whatever happened to that project... Anyway, that Spidey set looks pretty darn dark... Hope we'll see a bigger picture soon. Edited May 24, 2012 by the fixer Quote
vynsane Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 I love Spidey, so that set is definitely a must-have for me. I missed out on the movie tie-ins due to still being in my dark age. Quote
Sam892 Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 The set looks ok will have to wait and see the price and piece ratio before I decide if I'm gonna get it. Iron Fist looks pretty good and Spidey is ok, not to keen on doctor octopus yet . I do hope that if they base more sets on the ultimate Spidey cartoons that they don't just stick to spideys vilians. After all he fights Loki, Doctor Doom, Juggernaut, Energyman and countless more. Does anyone think that marvel will extend the current licence to other heroes like the fantastic four for example? Quote
deskp Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 I find the spiderman set to me too abstract t be any good. Quote
Iron-Man Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 (edited) The layout reminds me of the Helicarrier Breakout set up, but other than that I think it looks ok. It has some lab equipment and a vehicle of some sort so I don't think it will be to bad. Besides, it is based off the TV show so maybe the set will make more sense in an upcoming episode? As for price per piece, I have posted a few pages back that a website said it is 362 for $40 (US). Doesn't seem too bad considering you get three exlusive, at this point, figs Edit: Also on the Mr. Toy website it seems to say available August 15 in Australia! So maybe they will be getting a set first for a change Edited May 24, 2012 by Iron-Man Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 (edited) *See's news on the front page that there is a new Spidy set picture* Oh-boy-oh-boy-oh-boy! This is it! *The picture loads* This is it? I didn't really expect this. Looks too much like the Helicarrier, but with just less 'stuff'. I guess since the name of the set is 'Doc Ock's Ambush', I thought it would take place in a public place, you know, kind of like an ambush. Not really an ambush if it takes place in Doc Ock's hideout. It's like being ambushed by police in a police station. Hopefully when the cartoon comes out, this set'll answer some questions (e.g 'What use does Doc Ock have for a giant industrial fan?', or 'Why does Doc Ock have a go-kart?'). Anyway, thanks CM4S! Solscud007 Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 I like it. I like these little sets. Looks like it will be another $20 set similar to the Loki's Cosmic Cube and Magneto set. Quote
