Shawn Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 CHECK THIS OUT! Search lego sdcc bizarro on google and limit your search to the past 24 or 48 hours. It looks like the DC site had a post that was indexed by google saying that they were giving away Bizarro and Shazam minifigs. I think we may be getting two? The page has since been changed. Here is the data that google cached. 8 hours ago - Mattel SDCC Exclusive: Tiny Titans. Bruce Wayne to Batman™ The Dark Knight Rises™ Movie Masters® Figure. LEGO: Shazam and Bizarro Mini Figs ... Ceroknight Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 These minifigures better show up in sets.. I love Bizzaro Quote
The Blue Brick Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I'm really happy with the price point of the Spiderman set. But why more exclusives, especially if the info is true and they're releasing a Bizzaro. Why must lego make us suffer. Quote

So are these the actual lego stall exculsive or are they exculsive to the DC stall? Not that I'm complaining but I wasn't expecting Lego to release these figs....ever. I expected the exclusives this year to be around TDKR maybe Bane and Catwomen or Ra's al ghul. Quote
Spider-Man Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Not that I am all that crazy about the DC figures, more of a Marvel guy, but I do think that LEGO understands that the two superhero licenses they have are pure gold. I foresee a lot of these awesome characters being included in sets down the road. LEGO is pretty smart and I don't think they will be losing these license anytime soon! Quote

If they decide to do what the did w/ the Batman and GL last year, they'll be giving them away via a draw box at the Lego Booth and the DC booth at set times. This makes things a bit easier to grab them, but it's still a nightmare, b/c if you don't win, you have to go back inline again. And they usually ofer a certain figure per day or per draw. So you might win Shazam, but miss out on Bizzaro. Ugh. I was soo much happier trying to get one, but trying to get two is nightmarish. I was nutty and missed all but one panel I wanted to go to for these stupid collectibles. Darn you Lego!!! How I love thee. :) Bizzaro = drool. Quote
Bilbo Baggins Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Sorry for my ignorance, but who is Bizarro? If someone could post an image from LEGO Batman 2 I would be very gratefull. Quote
Lothos Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Sorry for my ignorance, but who is Bizarro? If someone could post an image from LEGO Batman 2 I would be very gratefull. bizarro is superman's clone, just a bit mixed up. He speaks backwards, and all of superman's powers. If superman were ying, then bizarro would be yang. Quote

Omicron Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 He speaks backwards, and all of superman's powers. He doesn't speak backwards, but speaks the opposite. Like if it was a hot day, he would say he feels cold. And his powers the opposite of Superman's as well. Superman has freeze breath, Bizzaro has heat breath. And he isn't weak to Kryptonite. -Omi Quote
TheLegoDr Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 That's too bad they are having more exclusive figures. I, along with others, would like to get these figures, but it is near impossible to do so since they are so limited in quantity. No sense in trying because Lego ends up with zero of the aftermarket sales anyway. Seems silly to me. Quote
Piranha Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 $30 is a good price for the Spiderman set. More than one exclusive at CC can be good, if you are interested in only one of them. More people are then trying to acquire both, instead of all the focus being on just one fig. I am really hoping we get news on the January DC wave at CC. Quote

TheWarden Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Exclusive means it will be available only at Lego Stores and a selected retailer (in the case of the Spidey set, Wal-Mart). Thanks for the answer, by the way. I had a comment on the "exclusive" figures that I was wondering if anyone else shared my view. I don't mind the exclusives at all as long as I can buy at a retail store at least one version of the character. So, the Iron Man without mask and the Capt America alternate doesn't bother or really interest me because I was able to get another version in sets. However, the Green Lantern exclusive bothers me greatly if it will never be in a set. As a big GL fan, I really, really want a GL minifig. I'm not going to boycott LEGO, but I may buy less if we don't see one in the next year or so, if Superheroes indeed turns out to be a multi-year license. I guess I don't have much else to say except to "wait and see" and this is coming from a non-completionist collector. Quote

I think they should make the packaging exclusive, not the figure, then they could release the figure in a set and it wouldn't affect the value or exclusivity of the SDCC version. Quote

As long as we get a nice version of the character, I'm all good. I don't need every variation of every character but I'd like to complete my Super Friends. A diverse non-Batman rogues gallery would be nice as well. I certainly hope that we'll see both Shazam and Bizzaro in some form down the line. Let's not forget that the Superman "exclusive" last year did find it's way into a very reasonably priced set. Hopefully history will repeat there. I would love to see a set with Supes battling his evil doppelgänger . Quote

A full character unique to just the show exclusive is just wrong and infuriating. (and I can't see where it ever benefits Lego financially to do those exclusives?) It's even worse when it is a rare or unusual character like Shazam or Bizarro. We could be reasonably certain that with a DC license we would see Superman. There is a very good chance we will see a GL in a set. He's one of the big 7 DC characters. But Shazam? I just can't picture us ever seeing a set that would include Shazam as an element? Which is really maddening. Quote
fatfrog2596 Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 About the exclusives.. the Green Lantern, Batman (as well as Superman) were "preview editions" so we may see them in sets soon. I know this topic has been talked to death but on the Wikipedia page of DKR it says "Lego is set to release building sets and mini-figures based on the film and incorporating other DC Comic characters. " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dark_Knight_Rises You can find it here.. second last paragraph... Any thoughts? Quote

deskp Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 (edited) marvel, venom and phoenix minifigs at comic con... And bizarro and shazam for dc wich we already knew about. Edited July 11, 2012 by deskp Quote
Spider-Man Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 What a shame about Venom A lot of people would have liked to have him in a set I'm sure. He is one of the most famous Marvel villains. Hopefully this is one that TLG will put in a set like they did with Superman! Quote
Spider-Man Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 I know for myself, someone posted an article from IGN on brickset. Quote
